This blew my mind so forking hard holy crap. I had no idea you could do this with the street view app. I'm going to 360 pano my entire damn house just for lighting. Holy jesus.
You really helped me a lot, in particularly with the node part. But I have an issue, i can't obtain my image once i finished take all the photos, the UI is different and I can only pubblish it, not store it
Nice tutorial, never realized StreetView can do this. I however have issue on getting the HDRI privately to my computer from my iPhone. What this does is that it saves 8-bit .jpg to my iPhone. It offers me a way to publish it but doesn't give me a way to download. Also is this a native 32bit capture?
Great idea - thanks. My issue is that I would like some underwater HDRIs and of course water does not make it easy to use that technique - both because you would need an underwater housing for your phone and als because radio signals don't travel through water - I guess I just need blue sky as next best option
@@mrlightwriter Suspicious how? too good to be true? The image is already 360°, but in standard dynamic range. the sun aligner addon just makes it seem as if it was taking in high dynamic range. If you took a 360° of the outdoors on a clear day, your image would be blue because thats the main color. If you used a 360° HDRi that was taken with high dynamic range, the sun would actually know because blender can read that it has brighter pixel values that the blue. (though we can't see it on SDR screens). This addon just adds a sun lamp to make it as if blender could read the sun in our SDR 360° So technically, no it isnt a HDRi, its SDRi
You can capture realistic reflections with your phone, but you can't get full dynamic range to get lighting info with just a phone. You need fully bracketed shots and a pano head with a DSLR
I guess you cold use a clamped Add node, out of Light Path, to mean Glossy OR Camera, and avoid the second mix.. don't think it makes any difference, really, just the way I happen to do Boolean operators. Can avoid tangles in more complex cases.
Dude this is witchcraft. This is such a great example of 80/20. I just read a guide and was about to go down and rig my camera, look for some new lenses etc etc

This helped tremendously with a project. Thank you Nik. Stay warm in CH
Thanks, you too!
How were you able to capture the images? The Google Street View app says it's no longer available
You can tweak environment rotations more smoothly if you decrease the sampling map resolution in the world settings.
good idea! or just hold down shift while dragging the slider:)
Thank you, I was wondering if the google 360 maps were any good and well it’s extra work but it works! New sub here!

Does this really qualify as HDRI? It's not possible to attain high dynamic range without bracketing...
Nope. Thats what the sun aligner addon fixes. I ran into this problem before I found this tutorial

Hi guys just a quick question. If you are using Google Street view to do this does Google then own the image and are you obliged to upload it?
no, it stays private. you don't have to upload it.
@@BlenderDaily thanks much appreciated
How to save? After I hit share only got link
there should be a "share offline" option
The relevant option only appear if you create a 360 yourself not if you try and grab one from Google Streetview that someone else has shared
please how can we import hdri in 3ds max?
Really usefull ;)

Is there a way to download the hdri without publishing it?
yes, you don't have to publish:)
How do we export this as a HDRI to import into something like Unreal Engine?
