Another great 955/957 video - keep them coming! I'd love to see ones on replacing the carbon canister and the thermostat/water pump.

how about the driver's side? The remote battery terminal cable is bolted to the block and obstructs the last coil. Too tight to get a wrench in there. I can't see how to disconnect the clamp to move the battery cable.

Great video! Do you have one for replacing the valve cover gasket on a Cayenne S 3.6L V6 TwinTurbo? Can’t find anything on this and not sure what the front two sensors on each valve cover are looks like they are some type of cam sensors…? Thank you!

There’s an evap pump bracket above the dog bone. Two bolts remove that and save a huge headache removing the dog bone and vanity cover

I bought Denso spark plugs in stead of Bosch this time round, Is the gapping that important? What’s the significance? Car drives fine, no codes.

@FCP Euro My man, you're referring to the ignition coils as being coil packs. A coil pack is an assembly of several igition coils jointed together. Such as M275 from Mercedes.

Thanks for the video. I ordered the kit and you guys provide the dielectric grease but I didn't see it used in this video. Does it need to be used?

Hi there, since these coils are bolted to the valve cover, you can certainly use some for this DIY. Ben had pre-dabbed the coils before installation.

A common issue with the 957 4.8 motor seems to be P2181 -- Cooling System Performance, usually because of a stuck open thermostat. That job and the replacement of the water pump in front of the thermostat looks too complex for DIY. What do you say? Thanks for these Cayenne videos.

It is 100% on our to do list M. Cooper! This car actually had the T-Stat stuck open code, so it's a perfect test subject for the DIY. Stay tuned , lots more to come.

Thanks! I think the thermostat on the V8 Cayenne is not a question of if, but when. They could have put it in a more difficult location, but I can't think where that could be.

Where did you buy those sparkplugs

Funny enough I got the P2181 code, reset it, came back a few days later. Took it in for new thermostat and water pump since the pump wasn’t documented as replaced. The thermo was replaced a year ago though. Hopefully this squares things away. It’s definitely DIYable but there’s a lot that goes into it, removing the belt as well so I opted for my local Indy. Diagnosis, new thermo, water pump and belt with all with 2 year warranty came in around $1,800 at $200 an hour. For those in Orange County CA I recommend Daniels European for any non DIY work they only use quality parts, quality people, and log pictures of their work plus update the carfax with the work done so resale value will always be higher and appreciated by the new owner.
Spark plugs and coils is next and definitely something I’ll DIY along with oil and pads/rotors

i see on the site you sell both Beru and Bremi ignition coils. although i’ve heard about Beru, what’s the story with Bremi? any good on a Cayenne Turbo 955?

I consider to buy 957 4.8s or Turbo. Which one would be reasonable choice? It could be over 100,000mile

Go for the turbo BimmerGO Tup! Similar maintenance to the NA 4.8 but a bit more go!
