Here's another one of my favourite Guitar Tone Tuesday video formats, the "Blind Tasting" episodes. In fact, perhaps we should make these "Blind Tasting" videos an occasional mini series of their own moving forward. Either way we are pitting out 2 somewhat similar guitars against one another. No, they are not in any way identical, nore am I pretending they are, but both feature the OM body shape with mahogony back and sides. One has a spruce top, one has a mahogany top. One has a short scale ebony fretboard, and one has a long scale rosewood fretboard.
There are many other differences as well, but most importantly one is an iconic American made Martin 000-15SM worth about $2700 in Canada in the year 2024, and one is an import Eastman E6OM worth about $1500 in the year 2024. The Eastman is very closely modelled off the Martin 000-18 (another iconic design).
