Same thoughts. SDV for the price point is no longer a need for me. I got a 30 ml decant from a frag friend earlier this year. I love Angelic Noir. It is unique even compared to other vanillas with Angelica as a note. I also got a 30ml decant in that one as well.
There’s something about guerlain that I just love! All of them are so well blended and they smell so lux. I actually love that they are not beast because it gives me more versatility.
I completely agree with you. Angelique just hits different. I love SDV and I too couldn’t wait to get my hands on it when I bought 2 years ago and I’ve never regretted it.
Hey, this is the most original and interesting perfume vids I've seen in some time. I'd love to stop and revisit whether something is still worth it to purchase or to even keep in my collection as opposed to always scoping out what's new. There are just too many new perfumes on the market, especially during the fall/winter season.
Great comparison. I'm not in a rush to smell these because of the price tag but they're definitely on my list. I have a feeling once my collection gets to a certain level they'll be added.
So happy you love Angelique Noir!! It’s my favourite greener vanilla for the fall. SDV I totally agree it’s pretty but you don’t need it. I had a 10ml samples and that was enough for me
Angelique noir is INCREDIBLE. I just received a sample and I'm very picky. I also gonna try spirituese double vanille but I cannot imagine it being better than angelique noir
Hi Ayesha. I agree with you 100%. I received samples of both before buying a bottle of Angelique Noire. Something about Angelique Noire attracted me more. Thanks for sharing your opinion and making this video. I've also heard others say the same speaking on these fragrances. This information is very helpful.
Hi, I don’t have a boutique near me. Luckyscent and Scentsplit don’t carry Guerlain. Any idea where can I order a sample? I’ve been dying to try Angelique Noire! Thanks a lot
You really came around with AN, Ayeesha. because in that birthday haul video it seemed you weren't going to like it. I have SDV, and for me it's an absolute must. A very luxurious vanilla and definitely not redundant in my vanilla rich collection. We don't have the opportunity to test this collection here in the Netherlands, but my BFF smelled AN and she hated it from begining to end. Our tastes are similar, but I can't get myself to take it of my wish list. I need to smell it.
Both of these fragrances are on my list… I love love Guerlain…but I need to smell a Guerlain before I purchase!!! I will be hitting the Guerlain boutique in NYC and if not there then there is one in WDW at Epcot. So once I smell them I will choose which I want or if there is another!😂Thanks for the reviews!!!😊
Don't y'all just love getting on RUclips and finding the EXACT video you wanted by a RUclipsr you trust... and it was posted recently? Haha, best lil RUclipse feeling ever.
Hey Ayesha. I don’t own either of these fragrances. I have inspired versions of both. I like them both but the version of Angelique is much better. It’s very unique and longer lasting. SVD doesn’t smell much different from other vanilla fragrances I already own. Great video
Great review! I want both. I only have Kayali, Vanilla Woods & Libre Intense, but want to grow my vanilla fragrances this fall/winter. Looking forward to your vanilla video.
Angelique Noir is beautiful. I have a decant if that one but because if the price was purchased Julianne Parfums version and it’s really good. I really want to try the SDV. I’m certainly interested in similar fragrances to that one.
Hi Ayesha, I’ve been dying try Angelique! I don’t have a boutique or Saks near me.Luckyscent or Scentsplit don’t carry Guerlain. Do you know a trusted website to order a sample of it? Thanks a lot
The only way I appreciate a vanilla forward fragrance is if it's spicy and boozy, so Spiritueuse Double Vanille it is for me, hands down. I don't know where the booziness comes from as I see no boozy notes listed. Angelique Noire on the other is a definite no for me. The combination of the vanilla and sharp Angelica notes really bothers my nose. When I got the Spiritueuse Double Vanille the sales associate at the store really tried to sell me on Angelique Noire, even gave me a 2ml sample to try out. It took me forever to finish that 2ml. Needless to say, it was not a pleasant wearing experience for me.
SDV definitely gives off that boozy vibe, even though no alcoholic notes are present. I can see that for Angelique Noire, but I’m glad you at least gave it a chance!
What an interesting video. I have a decant of SDV, a sample of Angelique Noir😍😍. Both are beautiful but at this stage I’m not in a hurry to buy any of them, the experience alone is enough for now🤩🤩. Stay gorgeous🥰🥰.
I agree with your views. I have both in my collection. I do like the SDV but it’s not love. At this time o don’t see myself repurchasing it. As for angelique noire it’s LOVE! I love it. I have 2 bottles and I see it in my collection forever ❤️
I have the original bottle for both and I’m so curious to see if the formula changed with the new bottles. Neither are beast but their so pretty to me that I can over look that.
Similar in the fact that I think of both of them as green vanillas. Eau Duelle is much more airy and the “greenness” is nowhere near as prominent as in Angelique Noire. Also the vanilla in AN is much thicker than in Eau Duelle. They are quite different.

I just ordered my second sampling of both.. pretty sure I want these full bottle, ( go piggy bank!) but in the meantime I realized I couldn't be without, so when I tapped my first decant of SDV I promptly searched out some more and added on a second AN decant, because that one took me completely by surprise. I have nothing else like it.
@@SimplyAyesha nice! Wish I knew you were on the hunt for them. I recently ordered mine directly from Europe since the euro tanked. I was able to get a 100 ml of Angelique noire for 270 shipping included 💃🏽
@@SimplyAyesha I'm trying to find an actual cologne from the L'art & La matière line up but it seems the only thing masculine is the tobacco and honey which I already have. It is so very frustrating. I keep buying samples from eBay $15-$20 each trying to see which one is which because on the website they have a male and female fragrance section for that line up but apparently they're all unisex.
Wahey money bags! The price of SDV is outrageous for something so unspeakably watery and insipid. The performance is terrible. It can only be discerned by most people if they crush their nostrils right against the patch of skin where they've sprayed it. I was not impressed with the spiriteuse was too intimate and not enough projection, I prefer vanilla diorama or van Cleef Arpels vanilla
