    I worked onset as an extra for a new testament film. It was fun. I even got paid. Stood on the women’s court. I did handspinning as they would have done. Met some great pharisees and Romans at the cafeteria tent. Great memories. Recall Dallas was fretting how he would afford to film overseas. I have mentioned the Goshen set. I am glad it worked out to film there.

    Hearing that Jesus came in through the same gate as the sacrificial lambs brings tears to my eyes. While I am grateful for His sacrifice which lead to our salvation, whenever I think of His love, kindness, and innocence and then remember the mental, emotional, and physical suffering that He went through, I just want to cry and hug Him. I view Him as my savior but also as my friend - I hate that He hd to suffer, yet I'm so grateful. Bless Him for His love and sacrifice!

    This was excellent Brandon! Thank you (again) for expounding and explaining the historical connections behind The Chosen. You and they have done so much research. I loved your comment about the leper being the only Jewish leper ever healed. I’ll watch S1-3 remakes if you go back through them.

    another great video, thanks! Couple of observations:
    1. Jewish sources tells us that the eastern gate was for ceremonial purposes, not for pedestrian use. Likely Jesus could have entered via southern gates like most worshippers. Mikveh are at southern part.
    2. At 5:00, can you spot the pinnacle
    of the Temple? Second temptation of Jesus
    3. Glad you showed the balustrade; had not imagined how it looked like until now. It was also implicated by Paul’s accusers in Acts 21:28-29
    4. 12:13 ‘honor system’….hmmm not sure. Some archeologists think those who underwent mikveh could be given a tag (pottery shard) marked “cleansed”.
    5. 28:11 cool 3D of holy of holies…i guess they showed the high priest in his golden garments to ID him. Technically, he will be wearing an Ordinary Linen Garb in the Holy of Holies.
    Keep u the great work! 😀

    In the Psalms, David alluded to the prophetic information found in the Sanctuary. "Until I went into the Sanctuary, then I understood." Every piece of furniture and fabric and element of the Sanctuary built by Moses and the Israelite artisans represents an important bit of information about the plan of salvation--from Christ's baptism (the laver) to His betrayal (the curtain hooks were each made with 30 pieces of silver--not just the price of a slave, but the price of betrayal) to His crucifixion (altar of burnt offering) then to the Holy Place where the Candlesticks (Jesus is the Light of the World) the Shewbread (Jesus is the Bread of Life) and the altar of incense (the Holy Spirit prays for us with groanings unutterable, which rise over the veil to the Father in the Most Holy Place. The Ark of the Covenant contained the Ten Commandments Moses brought down from the mount, the bowl of manna (God provides food, and rest on the Sabbath) and Aaron's rod that budded (God made the way for them to leave Egypt to the land He promised if they would obey.) The Ark contains the Mercy Seat covered by cherubs which is God's throne. The High Priest is Jesus who pleads our case and judges our case over those who are covered by His blood. The scapegoat is Satan, receiving his punishment when Jesus comes again. You can do a deep dive into every single aspect of the Sanctuary (I've only covered the high points) with the book, PATH TO THE THRONE OF GOD by Sara Elizabeth Peck. It's the deepest dive book on the subject I've ever read. It will blow you away.

    • @TheChosenSleuth

    Really? Never a leper thats been healed before Jesus? In all of the history of the law of Moses? Is there a record or basis for this? We were taight that "leprosy" in the bible can pertain to any typenof skin ailments that may or may not be Hansen's Disease, as we always associate leprosy with. So maybe there were healings and cleansing rites by the priests? If not, then that is a very pointed sign of the Messiah indeed!

    • @TheChosenSleuth
      @TheChosenSleuth  4 месяца назад +1

      So yes lowers had been healed, but never a Jew . We see this throughout Jewish history, so much so that yeah they basically claimed that the only way an actual leper would be healed would be if the messiah came. But yes you’re correct, leprosy wasn’t just Hansen’s disease like we know today. Rather it was basically any type of severe skin disease.

    I used to live the story of Na’aman & the little maid. She was a captive Israelite & he an army leader (an Assyrian?) who had leprosy. She told him her prophet could heal him & instead of great pomp & circumstance he had to bathe in the river, which he felt was a great insult to him. But he did it eventually (‘If you had been told to do a great thing, you would have done it, yes? But you have been asked to do merely a little thing …’) & was healed.
