Hi Donna, I don't think you need to go up a size. I think you might consider a sway back adjustment. When I looked at the clip, the length is fine along the side seams, it puddles in the back above the waist. When you pulled it up from the top, there were wrinkles at the side seams along the bottom. I'd make a real muslin and on the back piece, cut a line at the waist parallel to the hem. Overlap that line about 1/2" (for a total of an inch). That should work. It's a beautiful dress and looks gorgeous on you!
Lovely makes! Alas I had the same type of issue with the dress. To salvage the dress I made a couple horizontal darts across the waist area in the back and a couple vertical darts and then sewed a back “belt” out of the same fabric to cover up my oops. Put a couple fancy buttons on the belt to make it a feature.
Sometimes I have fitting issues with Vogue but still your dress is gorgeous. I love the fabric. And the cigarette pants are to die for. LOVE LOVE LOVE that geometric fabric from Fabricmart. Wow! 🥰
@sewlovelywithgrace Hi Grace! I grew up sewing Vogue patterns. My mom loved the challenge 🫠. I will sew them, but they're not my favorite. I did fix my dress (as best I could). I do like the dress so I'll try it again. I love the pants!
Indeed a very beautiful pattern! I too picked it up but haven’t made it. In this style dress, I always have to do a swayback adjustment, as suggested by several others here. After seeing your review, I will definitely make a muslin of this little number. Your dress is beautifully made and I love the color❤. Thanks for sharing, Donna, both makes are gorgeous🧵🪡🌺✂️😊
The dress and fabric are beautiful. I know you will figure out what to do the next time you make it! I have read some good suggestions innthe comments! ❤️🥰
Beautiful dress Donna! I was wondering if you put the 2 darts in the back and make them very small....maybe that might help. Thank you so much for sharing! 😊😊😊😊😊
Beautiful fabric choices and very nice sewing. I agree with others that a sway back adjustment might work. At one point in time I read that many American women have that sway back issue.
So frustrating when you put so much effort into a garment and the fit is off. I support the view that a sway back adjustment might be what is needed for the pooling in the back. I also noted that the arm hole seems very low in the front- it is possible to see undergarments and that there is excess fabric in the front armscye- a dart from armscye to bust might be needed.
Hi Donna! I am dealing with the same issues ypu are having. I am built a lot like you. I make shirts in a 14 and they turn out too big. Made a beautiful wrap dress. It went together so well. I made a 16 and it is too small. I’m hoping to give it to my adult daughter because it is so pretty. I don’t want it just sitting in my closet. The sizing on these patterns is so frustrating to me and I go by the finished garment size. I don’t get it. It sure is a beautiful dress you made. I hope whoever you give it to appreciated the work in it. ❤

I totally agree, a swayback adjustment may solve the puddling in the back😊
Love your garments Donna! ❤❤❤
Donna on the next version of your dress, you may want to look into doing a sway back adjustment.
I sure will. I will do a muslin... a wearable one🫠

Thanks for the tip! I made a dress from Pattern Emporium. They actually have patterns with the seam across the back. Its flattering.
I also agree that a swayback adjustment may fix the back. Beautiful dress though!

I have that dress pattern and can't wait to make it after seeing how beautiful yours turned out! And great idea about the side zipper!
@@TDStPete The side zipper is a must (whenever I can). The pattern is a great style!
Beautiful dress. Perhaps a sway back adjustment 🤷♀️.
I think so too! Thank you😊
You have convinced me to get that dress pattern ! Gorgeous!
Hi❤ You should! It is a good pattern. I'm going to fix the fit on this one & then make another!

Hello. Thank you! Yes, good talking with you as well❤
Sorry the dress didn’t work out! I’m glad you’re making it again. I love the design

Can you make it in ponte knit for a better fit
I was wondering the same and will make one up in a suiting weight for my muslin to check the fit😊
