"yes i am" has actually become one of their representative songs precisely because of the combo of their cheerful, almost over the top personalities in the mv the uplifting lyrics that are seen as both self-empowerment and female empowerment. nobody expects a song all about boasting (what they called 'cute bluffing') to be cheerful and uplifting or to actually have a good message to it, but that's just mamamoo for ya, turning expectations on their ear also, those outfits they wore at the end, like solar in lingerie and byul in a blue and red suit... those were the outfits they wore for their solo stages at their concerts that year. each stage was about 7-10 minutes long and each member got to do basically whatever she wanted for it also, speaking of that concert series, several mvs actually came of it... the only official unit songs the girls have ever released, "angel" (solar and wheein, 'angel line') and "dab dab" (moonbyul and hwasa, 'rapper line') both use actual concert footage as the mvs. the songs have a bit of a story to them as well, since the girls released them both on the same day as a competition. whichever team did worst on the charts in a set period of time had to eat a spicy meal during a vlive as punishment. if you're going to watch those, i definitely suggest both together, and possibly the punishment video, as well. they also used live concert footage for the song "i love too" as an official mv, including the girls getting quite emotional as they sang it (it was a song dedicated to the fans, reminding everyone of the sign 'never letting go' that the fans held up to surprise and support them earlier)
If you are actually trying to go in order you have skipped "Woo Hoo" (a CF but also an awesome song) "Aze Gag" (Means Dad Jokes. Every line is a pun in Korean so lyrics will do you no good but the members are Hilarious in it), and "Paint me" (the introduction to the whole 4 season project). Before you move on to Egotistic you do want to react to the video for Be Calm (Hwasa's solo song) and Star Wind Flower Sun (written by Solar filmed in New Zealand while they were filming Starry Night about their love for each other and their fans) On other tidbit. The Oneus song "A Song Written Easily" is filmed in this same New Zealand location.

As other have told you, there is 4 different mini albums, and they all have a solo track in each of them! That one at the end is "Be Calm," Hwasa's solo and a song she holds dear, having written it because a close uncle of hers died unexpectedly. That was a really interesting point you made about the two sides of Mamamoo that you're noticing. I've never really categorised their title tracks like that in my head before, since I think each one just feels very distinct to me, but I 100% see what you mean. Also, fun fact: Starry Night was actually shot in New Zealand. I'm really glad that they decided to travel for it, it's definitely one of my favourite Mamamoo MVs! But funnily enough I think it was actually the only Mamamoo title track that I didn't fall in love with on first-listen. It's grown on me massively since then though, and I absolutely love it now. Yes I Am is fantastic too, every time I listen to that song it really fills me with confidence. The self-empowering message absolutely feels very "Mamamoo". Solar, Moonbyul, and Hwasa actually all wrote their own verses in the song 💜
ha, i see a bunch explaining that "starry night" is part of the album that started the four seasons project so... yeah, you were already in the project without realizing it. they officially started it all off with a pre-release, "paint me", a ballad that set up the whole premise of the project, introduced the individual colors for each member and also shocked the whole fandom by finally having vocalist moonbyul on an officially released song the first album was 'yellow flower', which focused on the color yellow, the season spring and the member hwasa ('hwa' can mean 'flower'). "starry night" was the title track, the promoted b-side with mv was "star wind flower sun", a love letter to the fans (and to the other members, since solar wrote the majority of the song) and hwasa's solo in the album was "be calm", which is what was played at the end of the mv here the second album was 'red moon', focused on red, summer and moonbyul. the title track was "egotistic", the promoted b-side was "sleep in the car" (no mv, sadly) and moonbyul's solo was "selfish" featuring seulgi of red velvet (one of byul's closer friends. mamamoo and red velvet are actually all quite close, even if they haven't been able to hang out much of late). while all the songs on all their albums are very much worth checking out at some point, i definitely want to mention "midnight summer dream" from this album, too, since it was based on a ghost story from moonbyul's childhood the third album, 'blue;s', is for blue, autumn and solar. it is probably the most cohesive of the albums (while 'red moon' is the most disjointed. but is still good stuff). the songs feel like they belong together, for the most part. the title track is "wind flower", the one that did the worst on the charts but many fans say is their favorite of the four title tracks from the project, the promoted b-side is "no more drama" which didn't get an official mv, but the live performance they did for pikicast gets considered the mv. solar's song, "hello" is also the only solo from the project that never got an official mv. it does, however, have an 'unofficially official' mv on her youtube channel, as she set her doubles pole dance video with her instructor to the song the album that wrapped the project up was 'white wind' with white, winter and wheein. the title track is "gogobebe", promoted b-side (that again didn't get an mv, sadly) is "waggy" and wheein's solo is "25". that did get an mv, one filmed by rbw producer park woosang, who hwasa had found out earlier had taken up filmmaking as a hobby. she convinced him to make an mv for her song "be calm". later, moonbyul got him to do one for her song "in my room" and he also filmed the short one for the acoustic version of wheein's "easy". and then surprised us all with a more high budget mv for "25", showing exactly how much he'd been learning since filming for hwasa
Egotistic was performed by another group on Queendom. It was an episode where they had to cover other group's song. You'll definitely enjoy their cover stage there ^^

IrrelevantNoodle gave you some of the basics about the 4 Season 4 Color project but I'll add more info and respond to some of the comments you made. Mamamoo's versatility is of course one of their defining traits, tho I think of it more like a kaleidoscope than a duality as in red vs velvet. But you're right and another way of expressing the duality is that they're serious artists who don't take themselves too seriously; they love what they do and have fun doing what they love. The MV concept for Yes I Am is called "cute bluffing." MMM made an explanation video called "Mamamoo - Yes I Am MV Commentary" about the cute bluffing concept and some of the obscure lines like Hwasa's "Me, me, 4 with the sun." Yes I Am is from the album called Purple, which is why there's so much purple in the MV. MMM's albums are color coded and with the most recent album they completed the rainbow by giving us two versions of Travel in shades of green. You skipped the Paint Me MV, which was a pre-release single from the first 4 Season 4 Color album Yellow Flower. Starry Night is the title track from Yellow Flower. Paint Me is the theme song for the 4S4C project and is a vocal masterpiece. Paint Me was a major artistic leap in their career and was the first song released in their mature phase. It gives the color assignment for each member and the lyrics & MV delve into many of the concepts, themes and symbolism of the 4S4C project. Each 4S4C album had a theme season & color. In Paint Me we learn that each color is associated with an emotion or a stage in a relationship and that each color is assigned to one of the members. Each member wrote and performed a solo song on the album associated with her color and the album title refers to that member. Here's a complete 4S4C album chart: YELLOW FLOWER: Spring/Yellow/Attraction/Hwasa/solo song Be Calm Hwa is a sino-Korean word for flower, hence the Yellow Flower title for Hwasa's album. Yellow signifies attraction and budding love, which is of course a natural fit for spring. RED MOON: Summer/Red/Passion/Moonbyul/solo song Selfish (feat Seulgi from Red Velvet) Red means passion and went with the summer album Red Moon (Moonbyul) and the red-hot title track Egotistic. BLUE:S: Fall/Blue/Heartbreak/Solar/solo song Hello Blue signifies heartbreak and the melancholy of fall on the Blue;S album (S for Solar) and the breakup song Wind Flower. WHITE WIND: Winter/White/Wheein/solo song 25 White is associated with innocence, childhood and the stage of being unattached. The winter/white album is called White Wind for Wheein because whee is thought to be the sound of wind. How those emotional themes work out in the title track Gogobebe takes a bit of explaining, which I won't overwhelm you with now. Hope that helps.

It is not their solo albums, but each EP represents the colour of each member. The first one is Yellow Flower which represents Hwasa and spring. In each EP, you get one solo track penned by each member At the end of Starry Night MV, you get to hear Be Calm, which is the solo track in Yellow Flower. For the next season (Red Moon) that represents summer and Moonbyul, you'd have SELFISH as her solo track, which is also pushed as a single and a collaboration with Red Velvet's Seulgi.

It's one of my favourite Mamamoo songs and if you like the "Decalcomanie/Starry Night" vibe, you'll love Paint Me, it's a vocal showcase for all four members. Engrmiriam's comment below lays out the albums and title tracks, but they also did special MVs for other tracks on the albums such as Be Calm (the track featured at the end of Starry Night), Star Wind Flower Sun and 25 (Whee In's solo track). There are MVs for prerelease singles too. New York is from the same album as Decalcomanie. Woo Hoo is a song for a phone advert (and is awesome), AZE GAG is another fun video in the vein of 1cm Taller. There's lots of Mamamoo content out there!

You didn't ask but I'll mention it anyway: when Hwasa says "Me, Me, 4 with Sun" before her rap part it is a play on words, if you say that same sentence in Korean it sounds like "I love myself" and that is what is written on the pad of paper she holds up as well
There's a stage for "I Love Too(Never Letting Go)"(ruclips.net/video/AGjvMOqxeR4/видео.html), off of Memory, that's on the official channel and it seems to be the official video. It's a song that you eventually hear when you listen to when you decide to listen to the whole discography and is part of the "secret" songs that Moo Moos all love. I Love Too is special because Mamamoo wrote it for their fans after receiving a lot of love and support following their debut. No one talks about this song because it's sentimental and doesn't have the fun or sexy energy of many of their other songs but it's worth a listen if you ever wanna cry. 😂

I would love for you to react to Star Wind Flower Sun. I think it was shot around the same time as Starry night, because of the visuals, and the song was written by Solar and Moonbyul. It is supposed to be about how Solar feels towards the girls and the fans and it is a very vocal-but-soft song.

also, speaking of that concert series, several mvs actually came of it... the only official unit songs the girls have ever released, "angel" (solar and wheein, 'angel line') and "dab dab" (moonbyul and hwasa, 'rapper line') both use actual concert footage as the mvs. the songs have a bit of a story to them as well, since the girls released them both on the same day as a competition. whichever team did worst on the charts in a set period of time had to eat a spicy meal during a vlive as punishment. if you're going to watch those, i definitely suggest both together, and possibly the punishment video, as well.
they also used live concert footage for the song "i love too" as an official mv, including the girls getting quite emotional as they sang it (it was a song dedicated to the fans, reminding everyone of the sign 'never letting go' that the fans held up to surprise and support them earlier)

That was a really interesting point you made about the two sides of Mamamoo that you're noticing. I've never really categorised their title tracks like that in my head before, since I think each one just feels very distinct to me, but I 100% see what you mean.
Also, fun fact: Starry Night was actually shot in New Zealand. I'm really glad that they decided to travel for it, it's definitely one of my favourite Mamamoo MVs! But funnily enough I think it was actually the only Mamamoo title track that I didn't fall in love with on first-listen. It's grown on me massively since then though, and I absolutely love it now. Yes I Am is fantastic too, every time I listen to that song it really fills me with confidence. The self-empowering message absolutely feels very "Mamamoo". Solar, Moonbyul, and Hwasa actually all wrote their own verses in the song 💜
ha, i see a bunch explaining that "starry night" is part of the album that started the four seasons project so... yeah, you were already in the project without realizing it. they officially started it all off with a pre-release, "paint me", a ballad that set up the whole premise of the project, introduced the individual colors for each member and also shocked the whole fandom by finally having vocalist moonbyul on an officially released song
the first album was 'yellow flower', which focused on the color yellow, the season spring and the member hwasa ('hwa' can mean 'flower'). "starry night" was the title track, the promoted b-side with mv was "star wind flower sun", a love letter to the fans (and to the other members, since solar wrote the majority of the song) and hwasa's solo in the album was "be calm", which is what was played at the end of the mv here
the second album was 'red moon', focused on red, summer and moonbyul. the title track was "egotistic", the promoted b-side was "sleep in the car" (no mv, sadly) and moonbyul's solo was "selfish" featuring seulgi of red velvet (one of byul's closer friends. mamamoo and red velvet are actually all quite close, even if they haven't been able to hang out much of late). while all the songs on all their albums are very much worth checking out at some point, i definitely want to mention "midnight summer dream" from this album, too, since it was based on a ghost story from moonbyul's childhood
the third album, 'blue;s', is for blue, autumn and solar. it is probably the most cohesive of the albums (while 'red moon' is the most disjointed. but is still good stuff). the songs feel like they belong together, for the most part. the title track is "wind flower", the one that did the worst on the charts but many fans say is their favorite of the four title tracks from the project, the promoted b-side is "no more drama" which didn't get an official mv, but the live performance they did for pikicast gets considered the mv. solar's song, "hello" is also the only solo from the project that never got an official mv. it does, however, have an 'unofficially official' mv on her youtube channel, as she set her doubles pole dance video with her instructor to the song
the album that wrapped the project up was 'white wind' with white, winter and wheein. the title track is "gogobebe", promoted b-side (that again didn't get an mv, sadly) is "waggy" and wheein's solo is "25". that did get an mv, one filmed by rbw producer park woosang, who hwasa had found out earlier had taken up filmmaking as a hobby. she convinced him to make an mv for her song "be calm". later, moonbyul got him to do one for her song "in my room" and he also filmed the short one for the acoustic version of wheein's "easy". and then surprised us all with a more high budget mv for "25", showing exactly how much he'd been learning since filming for hwasa
Egotistic was performed by another group on Queendom. It was an episode where they had to cover other group's song. You'll definitely enjoy their cover stage there ^^

Mamamoo's versatility is of course one of their defining traits, tho I think of it more like a kaleidoscope than a duality as in red vs velvet. But you're right and another way of expressing the duality is that they're serious artists who don't take themselves too seriously; they love what they do and have fun doing what they love.
The MV concept for Yes I Am is called "cute bluffing." MMM made an explanation video called "Mamamoo - Yes I Am MV Commentary" about the cute bluffing concept and some of the obscure lines like Hwasa's "Me, me, 4 with the sun." Yes I Am is from the album called Purple, which is why there's so much purple in the MV. MMM's albums are color coded and with the most recent album they completed the rainbow by giving us two versions of Travel in shades of green.
You skipped the Paint Me MV, which was a pre-release single from the first 4 Season 4 Color album Yellow Flower. Starry Night is the title track from Yellow Flower. Paint Me is the theme song for the 4S4C project and is a vocal masterpiece. Paint Me was a major artistic leap in their career and was the first song released in their mature phase. It gives the color assignment for each member and the lyrics & MV delve into many of the concepts, themes and symbolism of the 4S4C project.
Each 4S4C album had a theme season & color. In Paint Me we learn that each color is associated with an emotion or a stage in a relationship and that each color is assigned to one of the members. Each member wrote and performed a solo song on the album associated with her color and the album title refers to that member. Here's a complete 4S4C album chart:
YELLOW FLOWER: Spring/Yellow/Attraction/Hwasa/solo song Be Calm
Hwa is a sino-Korean word for flower, hence the Yellow Flower title for Hwasa's album. Yellow signifies attraction and budding love, which is of course a natural fit for spring.
RED MOON: Summer/Red/Passion/Moonbyul/solo song Selfish (feat Seulgi from Red Velvet)
Red means passion and went with the summer album Red Moon (Moonbyul) and the red-hot title track Egotistic.
BLUE:S: Fall/Blue/Heartbreak/Solar/solo song Hello
Blue signifies heartbreak and the melancholy of fall on the Blue;S album (S for Solar) and the breakup song Wind Flower.
WHITE WIND: Winter/White/Wheein/solo song 25
White is associated with innocence, childhood and the stage of being unattached. The winter/white album is called White Wind for Wheein because whee is thought to be the sound of wind. How those emotional themes work out in the title track Gogobebe takes a bit of explaining, which I won't overwhelm you with now.

Starry Night is the first title track of their 4 Seasons project. They are 4 Mamamoo EPs that is released respectively, starting from Yellow Flower with the title track Starry Night, Red Moon with Egotistic, Blue;S with Wind Flower, and White Wind with Gogobebe.
It is not their solo albums, but each EP represents the colour of each member. The first one is Yellow Flower which represents Hwasa and spring. In each EP, you get one solo track penned by each member At the end of Starry Night MV, you get to hear Be Calm, which is the solo track in Yellow Flower. For the next season (Red Moon) that represents summer and Moonbyul, you'd have SELFISH as her solo track, which is also pushed as a single and a collaboration with Red Velvet's Seulgi.

Starry Night is the title track to the first of the Colours/Seasons mini albums. They released a prerelease single called Paint Me which sort of introduced the project - do not skip this video! It's one of my favourite Mamamoo songs and if you like the "Decalcomanie/Starry Night" vibe, you'll love Paint Me, it's a vocal showcase for all four members.
Engrmiriam's comment below lays out the albums and title tracks, but they also did special MVs for other tracks on the albums such as Be Calm (the track featured at the end of Starry Night), Star Wind Flower Sun and 25 (Whee In's solo track). There are MVs for prerelease singles too. New York is from the same album as Decalcomanie. Woo Hoo is a song for a phone advert (and is awesome), AZE GAG is another fun video in the vein of 1cm Taller. There's lots of Mamamoo content out there!

It's a song that you eventually hear when you listen to when you decide to listen to the whole discography and is part of the "secret" songs that Moo Moos all love. I Love Too is special because Mamamoo wrote it for their fans after receiving a lot of love and support following their debut. No one talks about this song because it's sentimental and doesn't have the fun or sexy energy of many of their other songs but it's worth a listen if you ever wanna cry. 😂
