Just to give some context on some of the clips tho this might be a long one. - Rookie groups are expected to behave a certain way and Hwasa crossing her legs would be seen as arrogant. Solar was concerned because they were in front of the press. - Wheein missed her cues and wasn't able to sing her parts. The thing with mmm songs is that they harmonize and do a lot of adlibs so it is very obvious when one member misses their cue. During their early years, people thought they will not succeed because all the members don't fit the gg standard in terms of visual so they had to work really hard and show their talent. That's also the reason why solar was strict performance-wise. - the thing with Byul during the fan meeting can also be seen as disrespectful because Solar is still older than her. She let's the members prank her or make fun of her because solar said it promotes teamwork among the three but sometimes their jokes, especially byul's, goes overboard when they get carried away. That's also why wheesa was telling byul to apologize and she did so immediately. - when she congratulated Byul with a cake was when she was filming for Selfish, also her first solo mv. - yes, that was a shoot for wheein's solo Easy. In that same clip, she was about to cry because she really had no idea solar had that planned. She called her tsundere because she saw her before filming and all solar said was "do well" in a serious tone. - that was Wheein playing the drums. She learned it for her solo stage at their F/W concert. - solar was on the track to become a flight attendant. She already graduated with a major in tourism before she became a trainee. - Mamamoo was supposed to be a five member group. The eldest and supposed leader decided to leave the group right before debut to pursue another path. And yes you're right, the leadership role was trusted upon her and she was not prepared. She kinda learned on the job. - hwasa is actually the expressive one, Wheein is more reserved. - the performances with costumes are the Waggy stages. Waggy is a b-side from their White Wind album that features the title track Gogobebe. Hwasa loves it when she the animal sounds. Despite embarrassment, Solar kept doing it because hwasa enjoys it so much. The iconic "I'm 29 years old" deadpan adlib was quite funny. - she's very protective of the members. During their reality in black showcase, reporters were hounding on hwasa regarding her bra less airport outfit and solar was not having it. Her exasperation was so visceral that she even asked Byul to speak in her stead because she was so pissed. Quite lengthy but I hope these helped. Thanks for reacting to this. Kinda like a Solar special since it was her birthday two Sundays ago.
ha, and you typed all that up while i was still in the middle of the dissertation that apparently took me an hour to write...oops also, i'm still annoyed at knetz for ensuring wheein was the reserved one. she used to be such a carefree puppy and used to share so much with the fandom until people started complaining about such silly things... her mentioning the boy group seventeen 'too much', the 'mother pumpkin' stuff and so much more... the poor girl then just sealed herself up and only recently started reopening again, esp with her instagram... which people then screwed up with all those ridiculous attacks on her friend that made said friend go private and got wheein to stop sharing most of the things she used to...
@@kalaksed I read your comment too. It's pretty thorough 😁 you mentioned things I missed. Yes, I miss the carefree puppy. They always take her words out of context. I noticed her being more quiet around 2017, I think. She spoke less even in variety shows. It was quite evident in Sujeong unnie's vlog when she visited them on set. Everyone was so loud and excited except for Wheein. Although recently she's starting to speak more in guestings during the Travel promotions but sadly it's only a fraction of the Wheepup we knew back then.
@@Bongi344 oh, it's a vilive wheein did a while back that has since been taken down. she was talking about a tattoo while eating and drinking and she 'swore' (but didn't really) so knets got all bent out of shape and harassed her about swearing until rbw made her apologize. mind you, the 'swearing' was her saying 'mother pumpkin'. one of the way too many reasons wheein started closing herself off, since knets and the media instantly pounced on anything she did to twist it in the worst way possible
Or get the full dose and watch their Tipsy Lives. There should be 3 or 4 right now and it's just them having a good time and getting more (Solar) or less (Wheepup) drunk
So for the areas you were confused, Wheein forgot to sing her parts which was why they were looking at her. Also, Solar was pretty strict when they were still rookies because she wasn't used to being the oldest of the group. She and Moonbyul often gets on fight and throws cereal at each other. She rarely compliments Hwasa and would often scold her. She did this because she thought leaders should be strict, the members never blamed her for it because they knew Solar wasn't prepared to be one. It's a huge character development really, now we get to see how good of a leader she is. She would protect the members (like when a reporter keeps on asking questions about Hyejin's airport outfits during their HIP promotion, Solar looks pissed and she whispered to Byul I'm guessing that she asked Byul to answer the next and told her what to say), she knows when to let loose and be serious. Hyejin basically becomes a baby around Solar and would even tease her about her age and such. Wheein is also another baby of hers, whatever Wheein wants like props on their MV's Solar would ask the director to give it to Wheein. Byul often teases her but she takes it well and if she gets annoyed Byul immediately apologies amd they laugh it off. Byul even stays at Yong's place a lot of time. I really appreciate Solar especially since I'm an old moo from Piano Man Era, she went from strict leader to a very relatable one. She gets criticize a lot but she shrugs it off. Not to mention Solar is also a really good composer, song writer, she's also good at arranging songs amd even more as performer. We love that yeba, the mother of three.
Mamamoo is SO open that they've even made a PARODY of one of Yong's and Byul's most memorable fights from their early years, which is when they just started to throw cereal at each other and punches and WheeSa had to separate them. Lol x) They've also REPEATEDLY talked about the times in which Yong's hair started to smell because she hadn't washed it for 10 days and what's funny is that they all thought it was THEIR hair that smelled and not Yong's, so you can tell all of them hadn't been washing their hair for a couple of days, at least x) They've talked about not liking each other at all at the start, Byul and Yong, and why. So, yeah, they're pretty open and honest in general.
But you would be surprised that despite Hwasa's intimidating aura she's actually the member who expresses affection towards other members more often, she's very sentimental and very soft-hearted. She's a monster performer on stage but actually a baby off-cam. Lol
Them talking about seeing each other at least once a month 10 years from now makes me happy as a fan, their friendship/sisterhood is just real. Also how Wheein suggested about them taking a "family-like picture" every year seriously makes me teary-eyed cause they really think about cherishing every moment as a mmm member
Hwasa isn't emotionally reserved at all but she doesn't open up to strangers easily. With Mamamoo members, staff, and Moo Moos she is honestly the softest, sweetest person. She's actually very physically affectionate and kind of aggressive about it, especially with Solar(ruclips.net/video/fLGNHwpJoto/видео.html). MMMTV shows this side of her pretty well as well as the other members being themselves. One thing that wasn't in the video is that Solar has top tier "Help me, the prisoners are running the asylum!" eyes. On par with Gahyeon from Dreamcatcher. 😂
I kinda feel like there’s not many, if any, other idols that have learnt and improved as visibly as Solar has. In her leadership, in her skills (her singing is MUCH more polished now, and her dancing has come an unbelievably long way in just a few years), in her self-acceptance and public image. I get the feeling Hwasa and Moonbyul especially have had a profound influence on her. But part of what I love about Mamamoo is also how open they are about their own flaws (and that...generally...Moomoos are too).
Solar really had a hard time with her position as a leader during their rookie years, especially since a lot of people in the industry thought wouldn't become successful because they "don't fit the standards." They were even told that because they weren't pretty or slim enough, they had to work extra hard. Koreans weren't as accepting of going against the standards then as they do now, that's why Solar had to be more strict with the girls before (especially with Hwasa because she loves to do things her way). As the maknae at home, it was difficult for Solar to deal with them as a leader and an unnie but it makes me so proud of how far she's come. She never fails to show her support for each of the members and she understands the needs of each one. 3:32 At award shows or music shows, when all the performing groups come together on stage at the end for picture taking probably, Mamamoo would always just stay at the back. Hwasa was too shy to come forward, that's why Solar encouraged her to join them. 5:06 Wheein kept forgetting her lines and choreo and at the time, Solar often gave them disappointed looks or maybe scold them by just looking at them. But recently, whenever one of them would mess up, she just gives them reassuring smiles. 10:56 It wasn't Moonbyul's birthday, it was for Moonbyul's first solo music video, Selfish. Solar visited the set and brought her a congratulatory cake. 12:04 That's Wheein on the drums, practicing for her solo stage at their concert. Wheein tried drumming for this stage for the first time and Solar was very proud of her.
4:11 The reason she didn't want Hwasa to cross her legs is that they were rookies during this time and it could be considered rude. 5:36 Wheein missed her line (hence the "...")
she used to be scary when the girls would do something wrong cause whatever the group does , the fault will land on her since she’s the leader and the one who’s supposed to lead the group to be respectful, hence why when hwasas legs were crossed she was so focused on hwasa uncrossing them cause they were rookies at the time and it could come across as her being disrespectful
nice! solar is such a great leader! and it makes me happy that hwasa has her as a leader. from what ive seen during my 3 years of stanning mmm, hwasa keeps a lot to herself ( rightfully ) so it takes us a while to realize when she's hurting but it's nice to know the girls have each other for those private moments
So glad you liked it! She is my bias, although not by much as I love all 4 of them immensely. I’m glad you appreciated the tone of the video (thanks to Hwasa’s Throne is My Face). I feel like Yong is one of the most genuine people in Kpop, as she isn’t afraid to admit when she’s made mistakes and has opened up about her own struggles. Kim Yongsun is my hero and role model. ❤️
si quieres hacer algo....hazlo (Solar). ademas ella es indetenible cuando tiene una idea..y no la saca de la cabeza hasta hacerlo ;) y Solar para mi es GranDiosa....me encanta su forma de ser
oh man, we're in for another long one... sorry... that bit with hwasa not wanting to go forward... i'm not 100% sure on it, but mamamoo as a whole are known for hanging at the back, way off to the side, or near the exits at music shows, award shows and other big events... usually if they're together, they're in their own little world. and even when they're promoting individually, that's where they'll be found when fans are looking for them at the end. as soon as they think it's not too early, they'll then bolt for the exit and prepare to go home (though even then they usually wind up some of the last to leave if they're together, just spending so much time messing around as they change and otherwise get ready) not exactly sure where that specific clip is from, so dunno any backstory to it. judging by solar's and wheein's hair, it was during "egotistic" promotions, and the 'mu' could be the first part of 'music bank' or it could be something else. but, if there wasn't anything specific for it, hwasa may have just really wanted to get backstage as quickly as possible for some reason as for the 'strict' solar... much of that was pretty early on, when she was still trying to figure out how even to be a leader, as the whole group was trying to find its place, both as a group and as individuals. before they debuted, mamamoo was actually a 5 member group but the fifth member dropped the idea of being an idol shortly before the debut was announced (likely to focus on her relationship with her boyfriend, a well-known cartoonist, who she has since married). this member was originally the eldest in the group and was intended to be the group's leader, so when she left, both those roles were thrust upon solar unexpectedly. and, since she's the maknae of her family, solar had never experienced anything similar, so she struggled with how to lead, when to be strict and such... even she admits that early on she rarely complimented the others on things they did well, just focused on berating them for the negatives. and there was some tension between her and hwasa because of that, up until hwasa asked her to her face 'unnie, do you hate me?'. that was one of the turning points for her and her leadership style, where she started opening up and being much more playful herself... letting the others tease and torment and make fun of her, since that was a great way for them to relieve tensions. as this video, shows, she's learned how to handle each member and take the best approach with them, she's more than willing to make herself look foolish if that's what it takes to cheer the others up if they're feeling down the others have mentioned that she often bottles stuff up inside (i mean, all four of them are good at this, but solar takes the cake) because she doesn't want to burden anyone else with her troubles and because she sometimes things that a leader needs to be perfect and can't rely on others to help them (despite how often she actually does rely on the others, especially byul. byul is the eldest in her household, so when not being a pain in solar's butt, she'd often try to help her learn about being a big sister/leader) that part with solar delivering the cake to moonbyul in the trailer wasn't actually byul's birthday, but one of the sets for the shoot of "selfish". solar often sends food or coffee trucks to the other members when shooting for their solo mvs, but since byul had to travel around to various locations for hers, solar couldn't do that. instead, she showed up to surprise her with the cake. seulgi was around there somewhere, too, just never made it on camera (since she was the collab for the song. also, byul has sent a coffee truck to red velvet, as well). oh... and look at that... i forgot it showed the trucks she sent for wheein's "easy" and hwasa's "twit". it's her way of showing love while also letting them do their own thing without feeling someone's looking over their shoulder. the part with the drums... wheein learned how to play drums specifically to play them as part of her solo stage at their four seasons f/w concerts. so, that's wheein on the right practicing, and the other three waaaay off in the distance on the left (with some of the backup dancers around them) ...and ha, that's right, this has the 'life bar' clip talking about how she was early on, esp with the hwasa bit... i'll just leave that block in anyway. don't feel like editing it out and you'll see my kind of train of thought, i guess as for the wheein's father thing... i don't exactly blame the other family involved, the ones who went bankrupt for it. because wheein's father had specifically used her name in getting them to give him a loan... 'yeah, you know wheein of mamamoo? she's my daughter! i can totally pay you back'. so of course when he didn't, they'd bring her name up because he constantly did. that fault is squarely with her father, who was a petty conman and grifter all his life, he saddled wheein's mother with massive debts (and a kid) and then just skipped out on them, yet tried to get back into wheein's life when she became famous, and continues to try and use her name to get him things, despite her flat out saying she'll never have anything to do with him and that he needs to stop trying to use her name. she had to go and announce all that to the world because of that bankruptcy issue and point out that she was still in the single digits, agewise, when her father left, so she seriously has zero to do with him. (...he's one of the very few people that i actually loathe, despite having never met him) oh, hwasa's throne is my face, hitmf, is such a great channel, a brazillian moomoo (and hwasa-biased, if you couldn't tell by the name. but obviously loves all four members) who usually does more crack-oriented comedy videos but has a handful of good... i don't even know if i want to call them guides... similar to this one. definitely worth checking out when you're feeling you want something for laughs. some are ship-related, but still primarily lighthearted ('wheesa how to act like just friends' and 'moonsun how to act like just friends' as examples) i think one reason htimf and other fans don't shy away from pointing out some of the shortcomings of members or hard times they've had, or even the fights they've gotten into, is the fact that mamamoo themselves don't shy away from these things. they talk openly about how they've gotten into arguments or physical fights, sometimes over the stupidest things, but then how they get over them really quickly (...usually) and are all the closer for it. the four have said they really do see and treat each other as sisters and that even includes such fighting, which anyone with siblings knows happens. hell, the girls actually performed a skit for one of their concerts that re-created one of their more famous fights, an early one with solar and moonbyul throwing cereal at each other while wheein and hwasa tried to break it up. i mean, who does that? and on the drinking... these women have no qualms about showing themselves drinking, which really does seem to be unusual by kpop standards, esp for girl groups. the show 'life bar' is kind of an exception for many of the artists that have been on it, since it's literally about a mixologist making drinks they think are perfect for each guest while the guests and hosts chat about things (and yes, that was heechul, one of the hosts of 'life bar'. though i swear he's in everything). mamamoo members have been on the show twice, first it was wheein and hwasa alongside eunji and chorong of apink (yay mamapink interaction!) and the second time as the full group but mamamoo drink... all the time, really, even though it's not usually much at a time. they'll be drinking in some of their vlives (either as a group or in pairs, like the wheein/hwasa one while they were on vacation in tokyo) or mmmtv episodes (usually in hotel rooms or the like when winding down), or on shows such as 'one lucky day' that they did. there's also the commercials they've shot, such as for a soju brand, or the beer-related interview that i only half recall... it might have been for cass beer? moonbyul was even on a 6 episode show called 'beer lover's trip, the only woman of the four on it (...people aren't really so big on that show anymore considering who one of the three guys was... but that's a whole other thing) and then there's 'tipsy live'. they've got four tipsy lives, each one done at the end of a specific promotion period, kind of a way to unwind and celebrate together. all four are also on youtube, though you may need to find the fan uploaded ones for subs. they're each between 20 and 45 minutes, so you know, and all involve the girls hanging out while eating and drinking, though some also have them playing games. the first one was after "yes i am" promotions (solar with pink hair) and involved games set up by the staff, including karaoke. two of the members also had to do punishments for it because they lost at some games (punishments were their own video, though). the second one was after "egotistic", had them playing a board game on a rooftop while drinking. much chaos ensued. the third one was after "wind flower" (the song released after "egotistic") and was more 'freestyle'. the girls were dropped in one of their favorite hole in the wall restaurants with the company credit card and a bunch of cameras pointed at them and told to just have fun. so they did. the most recent one was done 6/19 last year, celebrating their debut date... this one was sort of a mix of previous ones, though tried to stick with the more freestyle approach. nobody really did much drinking, though, because it turns out none are really fond of champagne, which is all that was available to them ...and now, to go watch solar wreck you with her "fire" cover...
@@KpopPrince that part comes as a surprise to pretty much everyone when they first find out. for years, the agency and members didn't really talk about the former member, though the girls have said or written things about 'to sujeong' or 'for soojeong' (her name tends to get spelled both ways) without really saying who that was or why they were thanking her. after a few years, kim dohoon, rbw's 'field' ceo, just mentioned 'mamamoo was originally meant to be five' in passing while talking about how they started and why they had the name they do. everyone was so shocked to find that out anyway, the almost member is actually still close to all the members, especially both solar and hwasa. she's had them as a whole on a vlog she did, goes to their concerts (and they make sure to find her and hang out after, giving pictures the same way they do their idol friends. and the duo that does their extensions) and she was even hwasa's special guest in an episode of 'i live alone', going with hwasa on a picnic to celebrate getting her drivers license and the maiden voyage of her new car. i think the two friendship tattoos wheein and hwasa have have been mentioned before, so will say that two of hwasa's other tattoos are also friendship tattoos. one is with a group of friends from high school (that wheein doesn't have) and the other is shared with sujeong
@@kalaksed Thanks for all that info on Sujeong! I knew about the original leader, and I _think_ I knew that they were still friends, but I didn't realise she was still that close to them all! (And it makes sense that her name is spelled both ways; I'm surprised there isn't more like "Soojung" and such. Unless somebody has a particular preference for how their name is Romanised, it's almost a case of anything goes, and ㅜ (oo) and ㅓ (eo) are particularly susceptible to being spelled multiple ways)...
You should definitely check out Mamamoo encore stages every time they win on music shows. It's so fun to see them interact with fans and perform playful/crack versions of their songs.
Reason why Girls' Generation are my ult group of all time is because of their close bond with each other. They have been very open with the types of fights and arguments they had. But at the end of the day, they have love for one another. So the way I saw them was like family. They fight like family do but love each other like family. Today, they still hang out when their schedules allow them to and meet altogether during Tiffany's birthday and anniversary. All 8 girls are still close as ever and I know if it wasnt for SM then Jessica would be there too. I'm sure they hang out with Jessica secretly, and they still support her indirectly so you know they still love her regardless of the incident. Example: Tiffany playing one of Sica's songs in one of her concerts in America. This is the same reason why I love Mamamoo is because they have this genuine bond. And I feel that for groups to have a close bond like that, they need to fight and argue to understand each other. So Mamamoo is 4 girls while Girls' Generation was 9 girls, which is why I'm impressed by the big group
you've actually got it the other way round, hwasa has a tough stage face but around her unnies she's actually the one that expresses her love and gratitude for them the most straightforwardly
I think if you were to start watching MMMTV either on your own or on patreon - there's a lot you'd be able to naturally understand about Mamamoo that these compilations although good, have a difficult time expressing complexities about them. They are also so downright entertaining and hilarious. I'd recommend any new fan of Mamamoo or casual fan - MMMTV is a must watch if you're a fan of them. Glad you're enjoying your Mamamoo journey
There’s a show that they were on called Boss in the mirror. It’s an insight into Solar and her role in mamamoo and also how she is with RBW. It’s definitely worth a watch. They’re on 3 episodes 81-84. I think there are clips on RUclips
Here’s a playlist I made with the clips from boss in the mirror. They’re quite short because the mmm parts were cut up into segments on the original boss in the mirror episodes. It’s a beaut of an insight into how they are with eachother and how much of a boss Solar is ruclips.net/p/PLMz7olsAmr-OsHKEa3Ejqi5RFZT5QlkSP
Thank you so much for the huge amount of Mamamoo content today! I'm off sick from work, so this was the perfect thing to wake up to to make me feel better haha. I'm really glad that somebody requested this, it gives some great insight into Solar. Part of the reason why she's my ult bias is her extreme sincerity, so I'm glad that you got to see some of that in this video. I think the standard of "perfection" is pushed so much in kpop that it's really refreshing to see Solar, and Mamamoo as a whole, not being afraid to talk so frankly about the struggles they've faced as idols. If you're looking for some long-form Mamamoo content, I'd actually really recommend their whole episode of Life Bar. The concept of the show is basically "let's have a drink and talk about your lives", and it covers a lot about Mamamoo's lives and their relationships with each other. It's a great watch to get to know the girls better. And all of their "tipsy lives" are also great if you want to see them just casually drinking and chatting almost themselves. They have a handful of those from different eras, but my favourites are the tipsy lives that they did for Egotistic promotions and their 6th Anniversary recently 🙂
13:44 yes!! it was hwasa first win for twit, and they actually went to a variety show and discussed about how emotional hwasa and solar were for her win
26:06 just seeing this clip make me cry rawr// they were at a concert and moomoos had a surprise for them holding up signs that read "never letting go"
Been binge watching your videos since yesterday and I can really see how great of a reactor you are. Just by watching you, it gives me the desire to go look for dollars just to join your patreon, so that I could watch your other MMM reactions huhuhu. I'll try to make it happen! huhuhu. Love all your genuine reactions to our girls. 🤧❤️ More more more Mamamoo Mondaaayssss 🎉
It would be awesome if you also did “mamamoo’s journey” by wheeluv channel. It would also make you understand how they faced everything together hence why they are so close.
Eventhough I haven't met Wheein's father, I think I don't want to meet him ever...still upset about it. Glad that Wheein has Mamamoo now. Also we knew now why Hwasa is quieter in AYA era... RIP grandma Ahn. But she still has grandma Yong SunHae 🌻 Also Hwasa is more straightforward in expressing her feelings compare to the others.
DOUBLE reactions! Lol loser club/crew (a name they dubbed themselves for Byul/Whee/Hwa) always clowns Solar, but they listen when she's serious Alright just for some more context, if I may: At 4:40 and onward, it shows Wheein forgetting lyrics and messing up choreo, looking to Solar apologetically. In those clips she gets scolded but by "I Miss You" where she missed starting the song and looks at Solar like she's apologizing, Solar just nod reassuringly. I feel like HTIMF was trying to portray that she could be strict and scold them (not just Whee) but she also encourages them when they make those same mistakes The 10:52 is on the set of Byul's first solo song Selfish (with Seulgi). Moonbyul asked her to come by during filming and visit, but Solar told her she was too busy. She gave her this elaborate lie too about doing so many other things she wouldn't have time to visit. But in fact she planned on coming and surprising Byul with a congratulations cake for her first ever solo video filming, I think she also got some stuff for the staff too. In the video, Byul hits the guy behind her, who was their manager at the time because he lied to Byul to lure her to the trailer for the surprise lol 11:28 Yeah, that's Wheein's first solo video filming set that Solar sent a truck to. 12:50 is Solar (and Hwasa actually, on her right) visiting Wheein's practice when she had that small timeframe to learn the drums for their concert. 14:11 Fun Fact: in 2014, Mamamoo was supposed to debut with 5 members. (Imagine that!) The oldest and the one who was supposed to be the leader, backed out to follow a different career shortly before Mamamoo actually debuted. So, not only was Solar never used to being the oldest/responsible one, she was never supposed to be the leader in the first place 21:30 As for Hwasa, she's definitely the most expressive even though it doesn't show it much in that clip lol Wheein was talking but kind of having a hard time expressing herself because she doesn't express herself that often. If we had a tsundere competition for Mamamoo, it'd be Angel-line (Whee or Solar, I can't choose), then Byul further down and then Hwasa much much further down in the "not at all" category lol but don't just take my word for it PS. Hwasa's Throne Is My Face actually has some great videos. ALSO: Honestly, just here to happily provide context. That music show win with the pjs was Mamamoo promoting their song gogobebe, a month after Twit was already out. Hwasa never expected to win since she wasn't even promoting at that time. I'd recommend looking at the full thing (the famcam: ruclips.net/video/mPugjjmXoZE/видео.html) on your own if you're curious, no one ever puts the full thing on these compilations, but its honestly just chaotic and adorable, and they're so damn proud of their maknae
Really want you to react "AYA" final live stage (smile version) They are playing the game, who doesn't smile on AYA stage need to pay 5 hundred thousand to each other. "MAMAMOO(마마무) - AYA @인기가요 inkigayo 20201115"
In my opinion this is an important video to watch if you want to get to know Mamamoo. Solar's leadership is not usually noticed and I suspect casual fans see her as a sexy crackhead with great pipes. MMM would not be who they are or have the success they've had without Solar setting the tone for both hard work and maximum fun while helping to foster a creative environment based on friendship, trust and being themselves at all times. Comments and answers to your questions: When you were confused about Wheein, that was a series of clips where Wheein missed her lines or at 5:30 simply didn't sing a whole section. In I Miss You Wheein missed her cue and came in late. Solar nodded to encourage her and say it's ok but you can tell by Wheein's reaction that she knows she'll be hearing about it afterwards. You see a similar nod a few seconds later with Byul. The cake for Moonbyul was to celebrate the filming of MB's debut solo song Selfish - that was in Byul's dressing room at the filming location. Yes, the coffee truck for Wheein was at the location for her debut solo song Easy. Same with the coffee truck for Hwasa at the location for her debut solo song Twit. Wheein is the drummer. This is when she was learning to play drums for her solo stage during the 2019 4 Seasons concerts. I think the Twit win was her 2nd. Mamamoo was also promoting Gogobebe at that time, which is why they were all there. Yup, 21 (western age) is late for a trainee. That's why she failed 40 or 50 auditions before RBW signed her. You're wrong about Hwasa but you'll learn more about her as you go along. She's the most emotionally expressive and affectionate of all the members. The wacky outfits were for the song Waggy, a b-side from the White Wind album. The live performances are hysterical. In case you don't know "Saranghanu" is an in joke among the members and the fandom. It's Solar's childish way of saying I Love You. The clip shown was the first time Solar said it in a public setting (an award show) and it was pretty clearly done to cheer up Wheein and also Hwasa, who gets deeply torn up when anything happens to Wheein.
Unlike her image on stage, Hwasa is an extremely emotionally vulnerable person and by far the member that expresses her affection the most. You can see this a lot in their behind the scenes stuff. Her and Solar's dynamics is one of my favorites. They went from being in kind of a strained relationship to Hwasa literally being like the younger sister Solar never had. All the members are proud of Hwasa's solo accomplishments but you can tell it hits extra hard with Solar, probably in part because of their past. Nowadays she does anything to protect her since she knows how easily she gets hurt
12:20 this was preparation for their concert and wheein had so little time in practicing for her drum number for her solo stage, she came and watch her practice
That's Wheein on drums. and as you mentioned Hwasa is a bit more reserved on expressing feelings towards the members, she's the sweetest one and the one who often shows affection towards the members :)
I can totally relate with the whole group cause my friendship with my roommates was exactly like that even the body language every single one of it when i see it i get it why is it like that cause my bond with my roommates has grown so strong and our friendship too but we do have fights because of our differences but we still love each other, I am like hwasa not completely but in many ways I am and my close friend in the group is like solar, but people who see us from outside feel that we are not that good friend cause from outside it looks like i dont show a lot of emotions and she is too much goofy from a outside perspective but only 4 of us know that we are quite opposite when we are together
they might not all be as close as others in bigger groups but i find it hard to believe they arent friends atleast the groups who last for multiple years because these girls and guys live together and train together for so long. You'd be pretty bonded from that, atleast i would think so because trainee life is hard and not many people get to experience that. So while they might not all be SUPER close i'd think they atleast would be pretty friendly, again the successful groups because i dont think they could stay together that long if they werent i think some members would leave. And well unlike in america where random people are put together who dont really know eachother like fifth harmony one direction and they eventually end up goin solo because of complications and have short career spans as groups, in kpop they have time to get to know eachother as trainees as well as the company to pair together the right people who mix well with personality and talent thats why kpop groups who are successful tend to last quite a while compared to western groups in my opinion because theyre closer and have to live together like family they cant get away from eachother unless they quit, so they'd have to learn to get along. Again im talking about the groups who are successful not the groups who disband early because those groups could have all types of problems related to bad management or pure finances or the relationships between members but multi years groups like bpink red velvet apink mamamoo exo bigbang shinee bts gfriend all these groups who have stayed together for years probably are actually pretty close because some of these groups renewed their contracts which rarely happens im hoping bpink renews but im doubting because yg doesent give them freedom to do their own stuff related to music unlike every other yg artist even treasure who i love are working on their own music some the album by bpink was the first time any bpink member was even credited for production and lyrics even though jennie said she and i think jisoo wrote parts of stay and lisa can write since she had to do it as a trainee and rose is atleast getting credit with her solo for writing yg does have new management since the past year thats probably why it got better they wanna resign them lol sorry for anyone who actually read this long rant but its just my opinion i dont think they dislike eachother i just think some are closer than others
I'd say some are as close as family, some are coworkers, and some don't get along. All depends on the group! I don't know if I see the BP members re-signing honestly. At least they seem to be doing music again instead of just modeling, which is comforting as a Blink
Im pretty sure Wheeins dad used the fact that she was in Mamamoo as a way to get into all these business deals. Even though he doesnt have contact with her. He seems like a real winner
Another fantastic leader of a girl group is Kim Minji aka Jiu of Dreamcatcher. Jisoo is the unofficial leader of Blackpink in a sense that she's the soul and strength of the group. Soyeon of G-Idle is what I would call a shrewd and savvy leader.
The leg crossed thing is actually quite disrespectful for korean since its in their early days and might look rude so solar didnt want any misunderstanding from their seniors
Kinda like a Solar special since it was her birthday two Sundays ago.
ha, and you typed all that up while i was still in the middle of the dissertation that apparently took me an hour to write...oops
also, i'm still annoyed at knetz for ensuring wheein was the reserved one. she used to be such a carefree puppy and used to share so much with the fandom until people started complaining about such silly things... her mentioning the boy group seventeen 'too much', the 'mother pumpkin' stuff and so much more... the poor girl then just sealed herself up and only recently started reopening again, esp with her instagram... which people then screwed up with all those ridiculous attacks on her friend that made said friend go private and got wheein to stop sharing most of the things she used to...
@@kalaksed hi would you take your time to explain the mother pumpkin stuff? Or is there any video link about that? Thankyou in advance
@@kalaksed 😿
When they're around drinking...sir. may I offer up mamamoo's questionable behaviors when drunk 😂
I need to see this
OMG.. yesss 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
yes, so funny and cracked😂
@@KpopPrincei believe it's by that title and the user issamo_o
So, yeah, they're pretty open and honest in general.
i think that mmmtv ep of mamamoo playing in the car is a necessity to watch
I agree to this recommendation💚
You're basically wasting your life by knowing about it's existence and not watching it
But you would be surprised that despite Hwasa's intimidating aura she's actually the member who expresses affection towards other members more often, she's very sentimental and very soft-hearted.
12:46 that's Wheein on the drums haha. You'll eventually come across many a Wheein drumming video.
I was gonna say! that's a must-see. u have to see wheein's drum solo and her performance videos to truly grasp jung wheein.
she used to be scary when the girls would do something wrong cause whatever the group does , the fault will land on her since she’s the leader and the one who’s supposed to lead the group to be respectful, hence why when hwasas legs were crossed she was so focused on hwasa uncrossing them cause they were rookies at the time and it could come across as her being disrespectful
nice! solar is such a great leader! and it makes me happy that hwasa has her as a leader. from what ive seen during my 3 years of stanning mmm, hwasa keeps a lot to herself ( rightfully ) so it takes us a while to realize when she's hurting but it's nice to know the girls have each other for those private moments
si quieres hacer algo....hazlo (Solar). ademas ella es indetenible cuando tiene una idea..y no la saca de la cabeza hasta hacerlo ;)
y Solar para mi es GranDiosa....me encanta su forma de ser
There’s only three title tracks left, Wind Flower, gogobebe, and Hip. Now that you know them better I’m so excited to see you reaction 😁
oh man, we're in for another long one... sorry...
that bit with hwasa not wanting to go forward... i'm not 100% sure on it, but mamamoo as a whole are known for hanging at the back, way off to the side, or near the exits at music shows, award shows and other big events... usually if they're together, they're in their own little world. and even when they're promoting individually, that's where they'll be found when fans are looking for them at the end. as soon as they think it's not too early, they'll then bolt for the exit and prepare to go home (though even then they usually wind up some of the last to leave if they're together, just spending so much time messing around as they change and otherwise get ready)
not exactly sure where that specific clip is from, so dunno any backstory to it. judging by solar's and wheein's hair, it was during "egotistic" promotions, and the 'mu' could be the first part of 'music bank' or it could be something else. but, if there wasn't anything specific for it, hwasa may have just really wanted to get backstage as quickly as possible for some reason
as for the 'strict' solar... much of that was pretty early on, when she was still trying to figure out how even to be a leader, as the whole group was trying to find its place, both as a group and as individuals. before they debuted, mamamoo was actually a 5 member group but the fifth member dropped the idea of being an idol shortly before the debut was announced (likely to focus on her relationship with her boyfriend, a well-known cartoonist, who she has since married). this member was originally the eldest in the group and was intended to be the group's leader, so when she left, both those roles were thrust upon solar unexpectedly. and, since she's the maknae of her family, solar had never experienced anything similar, so she struggled with how to lead, when to be strict and such... even she admits that early on she rarely complimented the others on things they did well, just focused on berating them for the negatives. and there was some tension between her and hwasa because of that, up until hwasa asked her to her face 'unnie, do you hate me?'. that was one of the turning points for her and her leadership style, where she started opening up and being much more playful herself... letting the others tease and torment and make fun of her, since that was a great way for them to relieve tensions. as this video, shows, she's learned how to handle each member and take the best approach with them, she's more than willing to make herself look foolish if that's what it takes to cheer the others up if they're feeling down
the others have mentioned that she often bottles stuff up inside (i mean, all four of them are good at this, but solar takes the cake) because she doesn't want to burden anyone else with her troubles and because she sometimes things that a leader needs to be perfect and can't rely on others to help them (despite how often she actually does rely on the others, especially byul. byul is the eldest in her household, so when not being a pain in solar's butt, she'd often try to help her learn about being a big sister/leader)
that part with solar delivering the cake to moonbyul in the trailer wasn't actually byul's birthday, but one of the sets for the shoot of "selfish". solar often sends food or coffee trucks to the other members when shooting for their solo mvs, but since byul had to travel around to various locations for hers, solar couldn't do that. instead, she showed up to surprise her with the cake. seulgi was around there somewhere, too, just never made it on camera (since she was the collab for the song. also, byul has sent a coffee truck to red velvet, as well). oh... and look at that... i forgot it showed the trucks she sent for wheein's "easy" and hwasa's "twit". it's her way of showing love while also letting them do their own thing without feeling someone's looking over their shoulder.
the part with the drums... wheein learned how to play drums specifically to play them as part of her solo stage at their four seasons f/w concerts. so, that's wheein on the right practicing, and the other three waaaay off in the distance on the left (with some of the backup dancers around them)
...and ha, that's right, this has the 'life bar' clip talking about how she was early on, esp with the hwasa bit... i'll just leave that block in anyway. don't feel like editing it out and you'll see my kind of train of thought, i guess
as for the wheein's father thing... i don't exactly blame the other family involved, the ones who went bankrupt for it. because wheein's father had specifically used her name in getting them to give him a loan... (...he's one of the very few people that i actually loathe, despite having never met him)
oh, hwasa's throne is my face, hitmf, is such a great channel, a brazillian moomoo (and hwasa-biased, if you couldn't tell by the name. but obviously loves all four members) who usually does more crack-oriented comedy videos but has a handful of good... i don't even know if i want to call them guides... similar to this one. definitely worth checking out when you're feeling you want something for laughs. some are ship-related, but still primarily lighthearted ('wheesa how to act like just friends' and 'moonsun how to act like just friends' as examples)
i think one reason htimf and other fans don't shy away from pointing out some of the shortcomings of members or hard times they've had, or even the fights they've gotten into, is the fact that mamamoo themselves don't shy away from these things. they talk openly about how they've gotten into arguments or physical fights, sometimes over the stupidest things, but then how they get over them really quickly (...usually) and are all the closer for it. the four have said they really do see and treat each other as sisters and that even includes such fighting, which anyone with siblings knows happens. hell, the girls actually performed a skit for one of their concerts that re-created one of their more famous fights, an early one with solar and moonbyul throwing cereal at each other while wheein and hwasa tried to break it up. i mean, who does that?
and on the drinking... these women have no qualms about showing themselves drinking, which really does seem to be unusual by kpop standards, esp for girl groups. the show 'life bar' is kind of an exception for many of the artists that have been on it, since it's literally about a mixologist making drinks they think are perfect for each guest while the guests and hosts chat about things (and yes, that was heechul, one of the hosts of 'life bar'. though i swear he's in everything). mamamoo members have been on the show twice, first it was wheein and hwasa alongside eunji and chorong of apink (yay mamapink interaction!) and the second time as the full group
but mamamoo drink... all the time, really, even though it's not usually much at a time. they'll be drinking in some of their vlives (either as a group or in pairs, like the wheein/hwasa one while they were on vacation in tokyo) or mmmtv episodes (usually in hotel rooms or the like when winding down), or on shows such as 'one lucky day' that they did. there's also the commercials they've shot, such as for a soju brand, or the beer-related interview that i only half recall... it might have been for cass beer? moonbyul was even on a 6 episode show called 'beer lover's trip, the only woman of the four on it (...people aren't really so big on that show anymore considering who one of the three guys was... but that's a whole other thing)
and then there's 'tipsy live'. they've got four tipsy lives, each one done at the end of a specific promotion period, kind of a way to unwind and celebrate together. all four are also on youtube, though you may need to find the fan uploaded ones for subs. they're each between 20 and 45 minutes, so you know, and all involve the girls hanging out while eating and drinking, though some also have them playing games. the first one was after "yes i am" promotions (solar with pink hair) and involved games set up by the staff, including karaoke. two of the members also had to do punishments for it because they lost at some games (punishments were their own video, though). the second one was after "egotistic", had them playing a board game on a rooftop while drinking. much chaos ensued. the third one was after "wind flower" (the song released after "egotistic") and was more 'freestyle'. the girls were dropped in one of their favorite hole in the wall restaurants with the company credit card and a bunch of cameras pointed at them and told to just have fun. so they did. the most recent one was done 6/19 last year, celebrating their debut date... this one was sort of a mix of previous ones, though tried to stick with the more freestyle approach. nobody really did much drinking, though, because it turns out none are really fond of champagne, which is all that was available to them
...and now, to go watch solar wreck you with her "fire" cover...
Wow, thanks for all the info! You're a trooper and there's a lot here I didn't know, especially that bit about Mamamoo originally being planned as 5
@@KpopPrince that part comes as a surprise to pretty much everyone when they first find out. for years, the agency and members didn't really talk about the former member, though the girls have said or written things about 'to sujeong' or 'for soojeong' (her name tends to get spelled both ways) without really saying who that was or why they were thanking her. after a few years, kim dohoon, rbw's 'field' ceo, just mentioned 'mamamoo was originally meant to be five' in passing while talking about how they started and why they had the name they do. everyone was so shocked to find that out
anyway, the almost member is actually still close to all the members, especially both solar and hwasa. she's had them as a whole on a vlog she did, goes to their concerts (and they make sure to find her and hang out after, giving pictures the same way they do their idol friends. and the duo that does their extensions) and she was even hwasa's special guest in an episode of 'i live alone', going with hwasa on a picnic to celebrate getting her drivers license and the maiden voyage of her new car.
i think the two friendship tattoos wheein and hwasa have have been mentioned before, so will say that two of hwasa's other tattoos are also friendship tattoos. one is with a group of friends from high school (that wheein doesn't have) and the other is shared with sujeong
I'm always thankful for all the info you provide! 🥰
But the family did not need to take the things with a public matter, it was a private matter
Their relationship feels real. Like how I am with my own friends.
you've actually got it the other way round, hwasa has a tough stage face but around her unnies she's actually the one that expresses her love and gratitude for them the most straightforwardly
They're really close like a real sibling ☺️
I think if you were to start watching MMMTV either on your own or on patreon - there's a lot you'd be able to naturally understand about Mamamoo that these compilations although good, have a difficult time expressing complexities about them.

More more more Mamamoo Mondaaayssss 🎉
Hey, that's so nice of you! Thanks 😊
they officially have a show which called Tipsy Live, there are four seasons and eng subs on RUclips, I think you should check them out🤣
It would be awesome if you also did “mamamoo’s journey” by wheeluv channel. It would also make you understand how they faced everything together hence why they are so close.
yesss im so happy about these mamamoo reactions :)
More Solar? Chunli-Despacito 😏
Eventhough I haven't met Wheein's father, I think I don't want to meet him ever...still upset about it. Glad that Wheein has Mamamoo now.
Also we knew now why Hwasa is quieter in AYA era... RIP grandma Ahn. But she still has grandma Yong SunHae 🌻
Also Hwasa is more straightforward in expressing her feelings compare to the others.
솔라는 걸그룹 최고의 리더예요 솔라의 유연함과개방적인 리더쉽이 없었다면 개성강한 멤버들이 어려움에 직면했을거예요
DOUBLE reactions! Lol loser club/crew (a name they dubbed themselves for Byul/Whee/Hwa) always clowns Solar, but they listen when she's serious
Alright just for some more context, if I may:
At 4:40 and onward, it shows Wheein forgetting lyrics and messing up choreo, looking to Solar apologetically. In those clips she gets scolded but by "I Miss You" where she missed starting the song and looks at Solar like she's apologizing, Solar just nod reassuringly. I feel like HTIMF was trying to portray that she could be strict and scold them (not just Whee) but she also encourages them when they make those same mistakes
The 10:52 is on the set of Byul's first solo song Selfish (with Seulgi). In the video, Byul hits the guy behind her, who was their manager at the time because he lied to Byul to lure her to the trailer for the surprise lol
11:28 Yeah, that's Wheein's first solo video filming set that Solar sent a truck to.
So, not only was Solar never used to being the oldest/responsible one, she was never supposed to be the leader in the first place
21:30 As for Hwasa, she's definitely the most expressive even though it doesn't show it much in that clip lol Wheein was talking but kind of having a hard time expressing herself because she doesn't express herself that often. If we had a tsundere competition for Mamamoo, it'd be Angel-line (Whee or Solar, I can't choose), then Byul further down and then Hwasa much much further down in the "not at all" category lol but don't just take my word for it
PS.
I'd recommend looking at the full thing (the famcam: ruclips.net/video/mPugjjmXoZE/видео.html) on your own if you're curious, no one ever puts the full thing on these compilations, but its honestly just chaotic and adorable, and they're so damn proud of their maknae
chaotic and adorable pretty much sums mamamoo up
@@kalaksed honestly. I was just gonna say "its so mamamoo" but I knew I had to be more specific lmao
Really want you to react "AYA" final live stage (smile version)
They are playing the game, who doesn't smile on AYA stage need to pay 5 hundred thousand to each other.
"MAMAMOO(마마무) - AYA @인기가요 inkigayo 20201115"
Also the one playing drums was Wheenie!!
wheein that is playing drums
I just started watching this video and I got a notification from solarsido
Coincidence?
I think now
Yeah, I love her and other members so much. Here is stage of Twit: ruclips.net/video/mPugjjmXoZE/видео.html
Comments and answers to your questions:
When you were confused about Wheein, that was a series of clips where Wheein missed her lines or at 5:30 simply didn't sing a whole section.
Wheein on the drums, she performed for the Four Seasons Concert solo stages.
Whee in is the one who is in the drums it's for their solo performances in their seasons concert
Wheein the drummerrr
Wheein is reserved and rarely talk about her feeling.
That's Wheein on drums. and as you mentioned Hwasa is a bit more reserved on expressing feelings towards the members, she's the sweetest one and the one who often shows affection towards the members :)
24:50 since that day SARANGHANU BECAME THE STAPLE FOR MOOMOOS
You're gonna love Mamamoo being a Total Chaos on VLive by Wheeluv Mememoo
I recommend Wheesa videos. You will see Hwasa is sweet as sugar :3. It is their 13. friendship anniversary today and I find it amazing.
25:55 Moonstar was having stomach aches and had eye infection(?) solar was checking on her from time to time
they might not all be as close as others in bigger groups but i find it hard to believe they arent friends atleast the groups who last for multiple years because these girls and guys live together and train together for so long.
12:45 that's wheein!
11:55 she sent a coffee truck for wheein, this was a time where wheein had so much nervous feels coz its her solo
wooa two mamamoo videos!! i hope i can help in patreon soon TT
mamamoo pokemon reaction plz!
Im pretty sure Wheeins dad used the fact that she was in Mamamoo as a way to get into all these business deals. Even though he doesnt have contact with her. He seems like a real winner
Yessss im hereeeee again
Another fantastic leader of a girl group is Kim Minji aka Jiu of Dreamcatcher.
Jisoo is the unofficial leader of Blackpink in a sense that she's the soul and strength of the group.
Soyeon of G-Idle is what I would call a shrewd and savvy leader.
JiU is an incredible leader
Aaahh I'm happy to see this reaction! Thank you prince 💛
Also, please react ro ONEUS "Come back home" their vocal are amazing. Please please please 🙏🙏

You can still check out the free video I posted tonight, no?
I still
The leg crossed thing is actually quite disrespectful for korean since its in their early days and might look rude so solar didnt want any misunderstanding from their seniors
