  • Dpad on the Steam Deck OLED 512GB feels very soft and most under the thumb with little pressure.
Left trigger (L2) has a audibly squeaky spring.

My 512GB OLED L2 trigger also has a squeaky spring. I’m hoping the squeak will lessen with use, but I’m doubtful. 🙃

Im going to give it a week or two to see if it improves, and if it doesn’t improve, I’ll send mine back, but it's a shame for me because that's the only fault on my deck OLED is the l2 trigger.

@@baelrog After around 2 weeks, it had lessened a lot! I’ve had the OLED deck for almost a month now, and it still has a slight sound when putting my ear close to the trigger, but hopefully in time that'll go. But it's practically inaudible now. I’m going to give it until after the holidays, and if it doesn’t improve any further, I’ll decide if it warrants a RMA or not.

Steam deck is amazing but its buttons are garbage and the dpad is unforgiveable.. the layout design isnt great either in regards to the dpad and ABXY ... they should have just had 1x track pad and use the space to have bigger and more raised buttons that dont sit at the end of the unit, the underside buttons placements are basically an after though and often press them by mistake
Oled owner of 1 week but realised the dpad cant do diags before even trying a game with it,i guess no one cares about retro games and fighting games .. as long as it runs doom and half life

I usually wouldn't care, but I want to play the Tomb Raider Remastered Collection with the old controls and now I'm screwed.
