I love all the extra details like Mikochi rocking her chair at 2:01, and Shuba summon at 0:49. It makes the situation so much more fun to watch, as the original is really just us staring at a plain ol' mahjong board. Great job!
Mahjong gets confusing because the conditions to win become different with a closed or open hand. Mio's explanation of 3-3-3-3-2 by itself only works if you have a closed hand (if you don't use discards from your opponent to form melds.) If you have a open hand, you have to start taking note of what number is on the tile or use honor tiles because having that 3-3-3-3-2 hand might not necessarily net you a win. Just to further illustrate this, the sample hand shown in the video can only win if your hand was closed. If you did use discards to form the melds (making your hand open), it would not be a winning hand because of the meld of 1's.
As someone who doesn't understand Mahjong either I felt what the girls were going through but I still felt bad for Mio having to put up with them. Still they, and this animation, is/are Cute and ADORABLE! Great Job and also Thank You for the English Subtitles too! :)
Noel & Korone didn't know how to play and MikoSuba as an senior lead it more worse that makes Mio-sha lose her mind. This whole event really an high quality show & your animation make it more interesting!
Ah Mahjong....thats so nostalgic for me. Ive played many of Mahjong thanks to the like a dragon/yakuza series. Its something else seeing someone else being confused about it
I can confirm. Learning Riichi Mahjong can be very confusing, especially with all of the technical terms and knowing what is and what is not a yaku. Let alone when you are using online Mahjong simulators without pointers. It can take around a week or two (A month for me since I wanted to read Akagi) to get what are the fundamentals of mahjong (Riichi, Tanyao, Pinfu, Sanshoku). But once you get the basics, it's a pretty fun game and you'll be able to understand why Mahjong in anime and manga is much more common than you might think.
@@DarkonFullPower A yaku is a specific combination of tiles to yield specific hand values. It's like poker in a number of ways. Look up "Japanese mahjong" for the specific rules about this.
@@DarkonFullPower It's basically a condition of tiles that if you fulfill it then you will have a yaku. For example the yaku tanyao simply means that your hand does not have any 1, 9 or honor (dragon and wind) tiles, the yakuhai yaku means you have a koutsu/kantsu of dragons or round wind or seat wind, etc... Also note that yaku is only 1 of the 2 main conditions to be able to win a hand, 1 is yaku and the other is a complete hand (meaning 4 sets and 1 pair, except for 2 yaku - chiitoitsu and kokushi musou)
Me, an American, who has played mahjong on Japanese sites back in 2008 watching a clip about 3 JP Holomems and an EN Holobaby struggle to play riichi mahjong: Fascinating.
Noel, Miko, Subaru, and Korone is a group that collectively has a lot of amazing qualities.
Brains is never really one of them though.
Brain.exe left the chat...
Lol rekt xD
"Why do we need laws when I am the law?"
Miko and the mahjong players at that time :)
I won't blame them, I can't wrap my head around mahjong
"Do we use these to control a giant robot?"

Mio-chan's tsukkomi was in maximum overdrive that time. 🤣

Lol she thought it was Yu-Gi-Oh!
Average mahjong experience
I remember when I was a kid and played Mahjong on Windows 7... I had no idea what I was doing and just kept clicking pieces that matched.
Honestly I've tried mahjong several times when it's come up in games and I've never been able to grasp it, so I really feel Shuba at the end there!
easy, just make 7 2-pair if possible

@@richmondodyI get it.
I don't get it.
Miko must be an animator's dream. She's always so damn funny in these animations.
I always love the tutorials you have at the end with the clip corresponding to the word. Thank you for your work 🎉❤

Subaru + Mahjong = hilarity.
Riichi sounds just like when you're about to say UNO
this happens every tlme you try to explain to someone
thanks for the outro trivia

Mahjong tiles are my stress balls cause of the clicking and marbling😂
This was so much fun! :D

WHAT IS A YAKU?!?!

Mio watching over this group is very entertaining.
Noel playing mahjong and basically being Eda from Black Lagoon was awesome
Not only is Mikochi bad in math, she is bad in counting too. 😂
Yakuza players gatthering, i see
Fight!!! I choose you, Shubamon!
I wonder which mahjong game they were playing. The modern games usually tell you which tile to discard when you declare Riichi.

I thought I wouldn't get this video because I don't know how to play mahjong. You could say I was pleasantly surprised with the content of this vid
ahh nice mahjong explain , i love this animation
They're hilarious!
awesome animations xD
I've never seen Shuba in so much pain before.
For some reason your drawing of Subaru's drawing makes her even cuter. Now i wanna bully her even more.
most people understand Mahjong rules from Kaiji anyway
Subau is so relatable
Subaru: I summon Shuba the Duck in attack mode (1400 ATT
-9999 DEF)
Also I think she's been she's playing too much master duel 😂
Also poor Mio Mama 😆
I usually associate Mahjong with Phase connect so it’s interesting to see others
Man I wish I knew how to play Mahjong.
Subbed
Sasuga Subaru, the Yugioh player, wanting to summon monsters
Colocar esses termos em japonês no final é muito interessante, cada vídeo aprendo algo novo 😆
Thank god for Yakuza 0 teaching me how to mahjong
i think i understand mahjong a little better now
Oh thank god, so no one knows how to play mahjong, i thought i was just too american
kawaiii~
I know a video these ladies could watch.
Ah yes listening to korone advice 😂
Miko is ELITE in any game 😤
Make me remember akagi XD
professional players i see
Sasuga… everyone, all pon in their own unique ways
Great tutorial! I'm ready to grind for the achievement in FFXIV now!
The only mahjong that I understand how to play was Shanghai. 😅
Same
As someone who plays mahjong
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
0:48 no no no,,, that's yugioh 😅😅
Mahjong causes great damage to the human spirit without a single benefit
LMAO
Ive seen mahjong a bunch of times in games and shows and my understanding is its some kind of evil fucked up willy wonka version of poker
willy wonka version of gin rummy is probably more accurate
Mahjong really isn’t that hard. Learned to play a few months ago and I’m already Master 1 on mahjong soul. Very easy game.
for those wondering Richii means she needs 1 more tile to make a made hand, not to say its a strong hand
