I got acute pancreatitis due to excessive drinking (beer only) over many years. Worst pain I've ever felt and spent 16 hours vomiting up yellow bile before I decided to check into the ER. I was in the hospital for 6 days. In my case the solution was, of course, no more drinking by I also got put on a regimen of vitamins and was told to avoid fatty, fried or greasy foods in the future. I've been out of the hospital and following the plan and so far feel great, I drink a ton of Gatorade and water everyday and really try to watch what I eat. Hoping to get back to running again soon. For those that have/had it, I sympathize with you greatly because I wouldn't wish that experience on my worst enemy.

@@khan14official56 The good part is the pancreas can heal itself over time if you take care of your self (no alcohol, lots of fluids, healthy diet, light exercise). I recommend taking a multi-vitamin every day, folic acid (found in green leafy vegetables) and L-Glutamine supplements which is an amino acid that is the building block of every cell in your body. Give it a month of this and you will be feeling better for sure - oh and sleeping better too.

I had necrotizing hemrohagic pancreatitis caused from a gallstone. I was so close to death but made it thanks to prayer!
If you have pancreas issues you should look up:
    Cinnamon tea
    Chromium
    Napol cactus
    papaya enzymes
all of these things made a huge difference in my recovery.
Also eat whole foods. nothing processed. NOTHING!
Also tomatoes are extremely hard to digest especially when cooked.
fats from nuts and avocado were fine.
    Hope this helps someone!

Yeah I had acute pancreatitis from drinking alcohol on a regular basis ( every single day). For a few weeks I didn't know what the heck was going on I thought it was the alcohol when I was throwing up all the time, nasty yellow green bile. One day when I went to work my stomach was hurting so bad and I was drinking Gatorade and I kept throwing it up so I decided to start drinking vodka to think it was just withdrawals and I started throwing that up. The pain in my stomach became so bad I barely made it to the hospital driving in my car I had to take off from work. Stayed in the hospital for about 4 days, on a liquid diet with IV running through my veins and giving morphine every 4 hours. It is horrible. It is one of the worst pains I have ever felt I could not even move I had to just lay in that bed. The doctor told me I need to stop drinking I have permanent liver damage already. And if I keep drinking I could die. I have been 7 days sober now and I do not plan on drinking at all that scared the s*** out of me. Good luck to anyone who has ever had this and I know your pain

Am sharing my experience from the hospital right now after 6 days of being held and programmed to be released tomorrow inshallah, just wanna say I’ve always taught of myself as a strong guy who can take pain like a freaking beast… well let me just say I really don’t want any of you to feel even 1% of that pain that I had to go trough in the first 3 days in the emergency, I legitimately taught I was gonna die… “not joking” at all, it’s not even funny or a pleasant memory to rethink of it, actually am traumatised of the amount of pain that I had to endure… no kind of morphine or pain killers could do anything about it so the doctor had to come and talk to me after I made a mess with my complaints for not getting morphine and he said “we actually gave an illegal amount of it and nothing is gonna stop this pain no matter what we do” so yeah just be careful guys please am still in shock that a human being can feel that kind of pain

I can help a bit (and I'm sure, if you're like the rest of us, you still have attacks):
Foods you can eat when you're having an attack: Ice (eat very slowly; it keeps things flowing the right way). Frozen, sugarless gelatin (the protein will help you rebuild from the attack and it just feels so good; also eat very slowly). Frozen Sprite cubes work well too; you can get some sugar back while still being mild enough to do little/no damage. As always, go VERY slowly.

Also happily no longer taking any medications like that regularly. While they can be helpful at times, I've learned that for me long term or regular use is really only viable as a last resort. At this point I feel I'm much better off dealing with a bit more pain and a lot less medication, I'm much more functional and happier that way. Interesting to see a reply to this after so long, has me thinking a bit about how much has changed. Progress felt really slow, and in ways it was very slow. It was also difficult and there were a lot of awful times, but it was worth slogging through all that crap. I'm feeling better now than I thought would ever be possible again.

Never, EVER, drink more than your stomach is going to allow either. The bile will make it's way up and attack. Really, if you're trying more than one swallow a minute you're pushing it too much.
Always keep gravity on your side. Bile can't go up if you don't give it the option. Stand most of the day during attacks if you can, avoid bending the abdomen as best you can, and if you sit be sure to keep perfect posture (or again, as best as you can).
