echoing some other people here, but there's seriously no problem with taking longer than 4 years to graduate, especially since you're working on social media so much and have those internship & volunteering requirements. love you 💓💓
I’m graduating in May after 5 years of nursing school, don’t listen to others’ timelines of when they think you should do certain things! Success isn’t measured by societal timelines and norms!
I graduated two years ago and now work in my dream unit as a nurse. It took me about 5 1/2 years to graduate but it was worth all the hard ass work. Remember there is no timeline to graduate. Maybe try volunteering at a children’s hospital in your area! I work in the nicu and I love the child life specialist we work with!! Best wishes!!
Praying for you girl!! So sorry to hear about your major requirement dilemma. I went to UA and volunteered at the RISE center with their kids and it was such an amazing experience! So there’s one volunteering opportunity I would look into. Hopefully that helps, and I pray it works out!
My older sister was an Alabama Pi Phi (class of 2010 I think) and she graduated with the exact child life concentration you’re currently pursuing. She delayed graduation to do a fall internship after 4 years but after she finished she couldn’t actually get a job as a specialist because it was SO competitive. She now has a successful career selling medical devices to hospitals and probably makes 4 times what a child life major would (I know it’s not all about money but still, gotta pay those bills haha!). Just remember that you will be successful no matter what you choose to do (dropping the concentration or not) because you have the drive to do so!
Thank you for being so honest about your situation with your major Lauren!!! I get where you are coming from. With trying to balance work and school and running into unexpected delays due to trying to manage both. College Life definitely isn’t perfect and this is definitely more realistic !!! 💗💗💗
I understand how you feel about the timing and concentration. For my degree, my minor was causing issues because at the University I went/go to a lot of the courses are only offered 1 semester a year. I had an uneven amount that was required offered in Semester 1 compared to Semester 2. So for a 3 years bachelors degree, I had the 1st-semester classes for 3.5 years and 2nd-semester classes for just less than 3 years (added a couple classes to help with my honours degree). I did the 3.5 years then an honours degree, now applying for my PhD to start in Feb. Your mental health is so much more important than a timeline. Work at the speed and capacity you are able to maintain. At the end of the day, an extra 6 months or year of studying (however annoying at the time) is not worth the pain and struggle of poor mental health. University is already stressful enough don't add to it. So excited to see Baby Elle doing so well. She is so gorgeous and I love watching your videos reminds me, I'm not the only one that had a degree that didn't fit into the usual boxes and causes scheduling problems.
I have two kids, was working as a counsellor 4 days a week and studying a Masters. I couldn't cope, so I stopped studying. I am by no means suggesting that you stop studying but what I did, and what I do recommend you do, is look at what you value and what is important to you and go from there. The best advice I ever got was this: "You can do it all, just not all at the same time". I understand your struggle. Much love to you xx
I had a very similar problem with my degree this past year because of a practicum. It was very stressful because it was a completely unknown situation and I did not receive much help from professors but everything worked out in the end. I did end up having to stay an extra semester but that's totally okay. Just make sure you are doing what is best for you even if it's not exactly what you had planned!💕
Lauren I pray that you’re given guidance when it comes to making these tough decisions! That you’re led to where you’re meant to be and that you’ll be fulfilled and blessed in that field! 💕
Girrrl, I understand your stress towards getting into an internship! I just finished my master’s in applied nutrition and dietetics with an internship combined, and the internship is required to become a registered dietitian (RD). My internship process was also highly competitive. I had applied for an internship after my undergrad and unfortunately did not get in. I was devastated. I decided to work for two years as a dietetic technician to save money to eventually take my shot to apply again for the internship. My internship was also not paid. Unfortunately, life is not a straight path like we expect, but don't lose hope if things don't work out right away. Everything happens for a reason and eventually wonderful things will happen if you work towards it. Keep your head up girl and don't lose hope and keep working toward your dream career!
@@leaitani864 That's great! Please don't let my words be discouraging to you. Just know that some prerequisite classes such as chemistry courses are a bit challenging freshman/sophomore year but find some good buddies in your major to create a study group will be helpful. As far as the internship/SEL I would recommend a combined internship/master’s program which are a little less competitive (a master’s degree is eventually required for nutrition and dietetics). Enjoy your college years whatever path you decide to take, it is the best!🍎🥕🥖🧀🥚🥑🍪
Lauren you’re such a dedicated woman to everything you do! It took me years to finally go to school for my dream career and you’ll get there don’t worry! I know your path isn’t going the way you wanted it to, but it’s a speed bump that you’ll drive over soon and never look back. Thank you for being you!🥰💗
Love that you're being so real about the college struggle. One time, I walked into my advisor's office, sat down, and before we even started talking about school I started crying! 😂 College is HARD especially with jobs, sorority, etc. You got this!
Dear Lauren I'm also struggling a lot lately about my professional life so I completely your dilemma right now and I'm supporting you so bad💪💕 I know you'll do a great choice but don't forget your mental health🙏 Also Elle is absolutely adorable😍
Is there another concentration you can take with your degree??? I would choose to do that if youre not in the correct space mentally or time wise with work to add those extra responsibilities. Even double majoring with a similar subject can be easier than stressing over moving and an internship!
That is a good idea, but her concentration she has now is what she wants to do with her degree, hence why she said she doesn’t know what she’d do with her degree on its own without the concentration she’s chosen. So she could choose a different concentration, but it wouldn’t lead her on the path of what she’s been working towards
Black glass stove tops can easily be cleaned with an ingredient you probably already have in your pantry: vinegar. Vinegar is a cheap glass stove top cleaner and degreaser that works super well. Just fill a spray bottle with white vinegar and apply it to your glass-top stove.
I recently graduated with a child life degree and am very familiar with all of those ups & downs! I am now working as a CCLS and it was all worth it! 💕
Re: Stove top - - Weiman has 2 products you need, Stove top spray and a squeeze bottle for heavy duty. Also when my hubs leaves a big mess, I stArt off with Bartenders powder cleaner. Also there is a ver inexpensive tool on Amazon to scrape big burnt on messes, it hard plastic so it won’t scratch. Hope this helps. Hi Lauren, just a few suggestions for your school dilemma: - use your sorority connections as much as you can, it might help you with the internship - maybe consider other allied health disciplines that you could still work with children (speech pathology, occupational therapy, dietetics etc.) - remember it’s okay to take an extra semester to finish up! - if you really want to major in the competitive major, go for it! even if you put out less YT content or have to move away for a bit, if you want that for your future career the sacrifice will be worth it ❤️

Hey Lauren. I am sorry to hear about your dilema about your concentration. It’s been a while since I’ve graduated with my undergrad and post grad degrees. Unfortunately these challenges come up in life regardless of whether or not you are in school or in the workforce. Your advisor gave you some real world advice when she said that if you want it bad enough, you will find the time and ability to get your internship completed. Before anyone comes for me, I want to say that there no hard rule that you must get your degree in four years. If you want this concentration bad enough, you can always take an extra year and get it done. Your RUclips career is thriving and is important and I am sure a lot of us would like to see intern related content. In life, we have to make hard decisions. You control your outcome and your success. I am sure you will make the right decisions for yourself.
Also, with your RUclips career that will definitely make you a better candidate for interns. It shows you can time manage well, communicate with people well, and have business skills.
I just wanted to say that your vlogs is sooo beautiful and for me you are sweetheart and you are amazing productive hope you doing great and I'm proud of you gurl

I use a razor blade to get any build up. Then I use ceramabrite with some water and scrub with the special yellow no scratch scrubby. Then I wipe off all of the excess, rinse with a wet cloth. Then windex and she shines like new!

I know this is an older vlog but just catching up on your vlogs I haven't watched yet and just wanted to let you know to try a glass cook top cleaner and it should get it clean. Just apply it, spread it around to evenly cover the stove top and letbit sit for 10-15 mins before wiping off with a damp paper towel. Then clean with a good multi-surface cleaner. They do also sell special sponges made just for those type of stove tops. Hope this helps you out. 💜💕
Hi Lauren. I'm in my 40s. I have a BA and an MA. I originally wanted to double major, but financially, that wasn't feasible. Plus, it would have been a crazy course load that would've required more than 4 yrs. I'm happy I decided on a single major. That said, it was all very stressful. I went for secondary education. Spanish major, psych minor with teacher education concentration. Unsolicited advice: take a breathe. Ask yourself what your heart wants to do. See if the major path your on is the only way to go about it. Any major dealing with kids, or even people such as social work, will require at least an internship. I had observation and student teaching for about 15 weeks each, unpaid while taking classes. See if you really can make peace with that move, competition, etc. If not, consider alternatives less intense but still the kind of work you want. Just please, factor in your YT work and don't push yourself too hard. I pushed myself hard for years and it took a toll. I'm confident you'll figure this out. Breathe and listen to your heart and soul.
Use vinegar/water mix in a spray bottle and use a paper towel to clean it. I have the same oven and all my cleaners besides that leave the weird film too.
Cleaning tip: put drops of dishwash soap on top, take a small cleaning towel (? Haha idk what it’s called in English) and make it a little wet. Clean it and then take a clean wet towel to take off the soap. Then dry it with a clean towel. Hope you understand 😂
Hi Lauren, love your videos and your make up always looks on point. About your oven dilemma I also use a cleaning product called Bar Keepers Friend and a no scratch scrubbie. After cleaning with Bar Keepers Friend use a cloth rinsed with hot water over it and that should remove any stresky lines/smears 😁 Hope that helps too, from Jess in New Zealand.
Thank you for showing us the real Lauren. You have a great sense of humor. Ugh for real? I think it's silly that your program offers an internship to only select students. How many students get this out of how many? When I was in college I did an undergraduate thesis and everyone in the program (with a certain GPA, but we knew that from the beginning) could choose to write a thesis, or not. The other part of me is like let go and let God, you will be fine. You can drop/switch concentration. You can do almost any job with almost any degree. I'm not kidding. Obviously some limits, you need a background or prereqs, but it really doesn't matter *what* you graduate with, as long as your grades are good. You can do it girl.
For the glass tops, you need a paste-I think you can make it with baking soda. Let dry and then use a razor to remove. There’s a cool tiktok about this actually. Two guys test a hack…but I can’t remember their names. :D Baby Elle is adorable with her mouse! My baby loves hers-these little mice with some type of jute on them and she goes mental with them. :D
I have been very patiently waiting on an apartment tour. Also, you are a very like able person that obviously is not afraid of hard work. If your passion is to get that human development degree concentrating on children. DO IT. you will regret it if you don’t.

Hi Lauren, just a few suggestions for your school dilemma:

Just please, factor in your YT work and don't push yourself too hard. I pushed myself hard for years and it took a toll. I'm confident you'll figure this out. Breathe and listen to your heart and soul.
love these videos! you’re soo
pretty!
Use some dawn powerwash... cleans everything... my absolute favorite for any cleaning situation
Weiman Glass Cooktop Cleaner & Polish!
❤❤❤
Hey guys! Great thanks for supporting AIRROBO. We have extended the coupon's validity to the 19th of Oct due to the hot sale of AIRROBO T10+
The Brand Method, Method Degreaser will be your best friend and also Comet, when your stove top looks like that.
Aww baby Elle is getting so big she’s so cute🥰 Your are also very pretty and always put a smile on my face!
use the pink stuff on your oven top. it is my fav!!
Pink stuff paste and minkeh cloth to clean oven top x
Hi Lauren, love your videos and your make up always looks on point. About your oven dilemma I also use a cleaning product called Bar Keepers Friend and a no scratch scrubbie. After cleaning with Bar Keepers Friend use a cloth rinsed with hot water over it and that should remove any stresky lines/smears 😁 Hope that helps too, from Jess in New Zealand.
I love ur day in your life vids!💗😍🥰
Try the Method degreaser on your glass cooktop! It makes mine super shiny and clear! 🙃
I use glass cleaner on my oven top and it has made a huge difference for me.
Hi Lauren! I love your vlogs! Baby Elle is so adorable! ❤️❤️
My cat also LOVES her toy mice, lol. Oven cleaner: Weiman glass cleaner.
I know the struggle 😩 I’m a freshman in college and all I can say is whewww 😤😤
For the glass tops, you need a paste-I think you can make it with baking soda. Let dry and then use a razor to remove. There’s a cool tiktok about this actually. Two guys test a hack…but I can’t remember their names. :D Baby Elle is adorable with her mouse! My baby loves hers-these little mice with some type of jute on them and she goes mental with them. :D
Oh Lauren for your stove just use some dish soap and a sponge and scrub it. It works for mine!
The pink stuff might be another one to try.
The ad before this video had a cat that looked just like baby Elle 🥺💕
AWWW STOP IT
Spray white vinegar on your glass stovetop to both clean and degrease it.
Yes Lauren you totally should do that cleaning vid I would soooo watch it! And Lauren your glasses are soooo cute!
Elle is the most beautiful cat I’ve ever seen I think a cleaning video would be so fun your apartment is beautiful 💙💙
When my dad had an oven top like that he used oven cleaner but then used like a glass claner spray to get all the marks off 🙂
I have been very patiently waiting on an apartment tour. Also, you are a very like able person that obviously is not afraid of hard work. If your passion is to get that human development degree concentrating on children. DO IT. you will regret it if you don’t.
