    Edit: make sure you block scripts again after you finish.
    Hi guys, little guide for understanding benchmarks: From 1ms to 0.5 (OG TIMER RES VIDEO) there is an average 1.42% average fps increase. and from 0.5 to my best value 0.506 (THIS VIDEO) it was another average 1.34 increase. So don't expect a million extra fps from timer res please :)

    korvie there is no need for all that to adjust timer resolution you can always adjust it from group policy editor its easy computer configuration-windows components- administrative templates network -qos packet scheduler just double click on set timer resolution policy and enable it and adjust it to 1 then close everything and run cmd as administrator and type gpupdate then press enter then just restart the pc and here you have it easy and quick and safer way because i think lower than 1 like 0.500 is killing the cpu and harm it

  • @Aadarsh155

    For me on windows 11, I had to run the following three commands to get timing resolution running properly:
    bcdedit /set useplatformtick yes
    bcdedit /set disabledynamictick yes
    bcdedit /deletevalue useplatformclock
    After a restart, I used the method shown in the video to get the most optimal timer value.

    @Arzack711 4 месяца назад +1

    Wow, just impressive! I have a massive improvement doing this trick alone.
    Noted that I had set the timer resolution to 500ms since way back before you create the video last month. In fact, I had set my pc to this timer resolution since I first setup my current pc on December 2022 with all current hardware. Then, you just tell us to create an even tighter timing? Of course, I have to try it. Thus, I tried and the results shows as soon as possible. Even on general usage of pc, I could tell the improvement. I'm not even in game yet. The snappy response is real man.

    Love your vids! Thank you so much for this, but I have one small issue. Many games tend to set the timer themselves, and if they use the 0.500ms timer it will override whatever value you set, because it's lower. The custom timer works wonders in the games that it actually works in, but almost all the games I actually play seem to set it to 0.500ms. If you manage timo find a workaround for this, I will be forever grateful.

    So, this is what I was talking about on the discord some days ago. Amit´s Timer Resolution seems to work as intended when at least the first Intel C state (C0) is enabled. While disabled, although you seem to get better frames and reduced input lag (subjectively), the deviation on the MeasureSleep program its soooo inconsistent. Could you test both cases for the best scenario?

    Just wanted to give a huge shoutout that this does indeed work if you have "timer related issues". Settled on the same 0.506ms value, but my results oscillated back and forth from 14.2-~14.8ms over a 20ms interval. Went from horrible nearly unplayable stutters while background videos were playing with turbo boost disabled (~2.8ghz 13900k, don't judge I run it maxed when needed, near idle power efficiency > peak performance | the system runs 24/7) to buttery smooth with 12 videos playing at the same time. Even when hardware acceleration was enabled. Thought it was a bricked windows install but nope!
    This works and is worth a shot if you have horrible random stutters with lots of stuff running on a modern chip.

    Problem is that many, usually audio programs, forces 0.5 (minimal) and overrides everything that controls timer.

    @vartulo8837 4 месяца назад +2

    0.500ms timer is always worse than default if that timer is forced system globally.
    imo, you should have the default timer 1ms as well in the fps bench results aswell

    hi khorvie. so lets say i did the registry edit in the beginning but DIDNT restart right after and continued following the steps. would the results still be the same? like i found out that 504 is the best for me, and then checked the measure and realized it still looked the same which reminded me to restart, and when i did it was significantly better. would 504 still be the best or should i redo it? im gonna redo anyways and let you know

      only if you can get stable fps, then cap it to a number higher than ur monitor's refresh rate

    what's up bro, i have a problem with cs2, in the benchmark i got like 350fps avg with the tweeks and optimizations but in a competive game my fps avg is like 150-200, what can be that affect my fps in the game but only when i'm playing? great channel i watch almost all of your videos, greats from argentina

    • @khorvietech
      @khorvietech  4 месяца назад +1

      The amount of real people could be affecting it since the game has to calculate the movement of all other players
