  • Shredder's voice in season 2 of TMNT 2003 was very high pitched, which was changed to his normal sounding in season 3 and Turtles Forever. Season 2 scenes can also be easily fixed by lowering his voice to normal state, so you can listen to him here.

    I like Ch'rell / Utrom Shredder better with the high-pitched voice.
    I'm glad that he wasn't still given the regular voice of the episode "Secret Origins, Part 1" of Season 2, because it obviously would've gave him away before he was revealed to be an utrom of the episode "Secret Origins, Part 3".
    I would've preferred still giving him the high-pitched voice of the following episodes "Same As It Never Was", "Exodus, Part 1" and "Exodus, Part 2" of Season 3 as as well as the animated television film "Turtles Forever".
    Why he was given the regular voice of those three episodes and Turtles Forever is beyond me.

      My guess is the high pitched voice made him sound more goofier and less intimidating. I did love the high pitched voice though but it made me hard to take him seriously though, I mean he’s supposed to be one of the most dangerous if not the most dangerous creature in the universe.

      Also, the virtual version of Mortu was trying to tell the Turtles and Splinter that the Shredder is an utrom and when it had finally been revealed that Ch'rell was the Shredder the whole time, I now know what it is that Mortu was trying to tell them.

      No one knows, but I like to think that Ch'rell eventually got really attached to the Shredder that he was no longer Ch'rell, but Shredder himself, and he changed his vocal cords for that exact reason. I bet he was also planning to somehow make an organic version of Oroku Saki's body (or steal it from his grave) and transfer his conciousness to its brain.
      Of course that's probably just some random headcanon of mine but I think it fits him well, after all he's been impersonating the Shredder for centuries.

    • @Krang_e_Shreddy
      @Krang_e_Shreddy 10 месяцев назад +1

      @stuckonstupid8473 I think in the 2003 series the writers of the plot actually wanted to try a twist that in the original 1987 cartoon they had plans to introduce but it was not done eventually. At the end of season 1 of the 1987 cartoon, when the Technodrome returns in Dimension X because of Donatello, the shock of inverting the flux of the portal to bring everything back into Dimension X should have merged Krang and Shredder into a single entity, a being with the body and ninja abilities and skills of Shredder, but with Krang and all his evil intelligence as a head, creating a new villain character named Kredder (or Shrang) that should have become even more powerful and dangerous for the Ninja Turtles. Eventually they decided not to do this, because they were afraid that a human character like Shredder but with a head made of a brain of an alien being like Krang would have scared the kids way too much, and they decided to keep them as they were, despite it also meant Shredder would have to keep taking orders from Krang, effectively making Shredder a henchman who was just superior to Rocksteady and Bebop. So this concept of merging Shredder and Krang into a single character failed in the 1987 original cartoon, but they probably wanted to try a version of this concept in the 2003 series then.
