- Join us on an adventure as we switch roles from hosting at our Joshua Tree Airbnb to being guests in the heart of Florence at the stunning Palazzo Guadagni! Follow along as we explore Florence, from staying in the city center to touring the Galleria dell’Accademia di Firenze and marveling at David. We’ll stroll across the Ponte Vecchio, sip Orange Italian wine at the charming Wine Windows, enjoy an aperitivo at the Loggia Rooftop Bar, explore San Gimignano, eat the "world’s best gelato," and ride Vespas through Tuscany. Florence has truly stolen our hearts!
Thanks for joining us as we navigate through the trials and triumphs of our adventures and a big thank you for all of the support always... we appreciate YOU!

New to our channel? Well, hi there! We're Kristen and Michael, a couple embarking on a wild adventure of transforming our dream desert home into a short-term rental biz!
As crazy as it sounds, we decided to ditch our beloved Los Angeles (which we called home for 7 years) and chase our wildest dreams of owning a piece of land in California. And guess what? We did it! We finally bought our desert house in the summer of 2021, and we've been DIY-ing our hearts out ever since!
We're talking about an (almost) complete renovation, from top to bottom! But that's not all! We're also building our business from scratch, with the goal of sharing our little oasis with our family, friends, and even strangers from all over the world.
So come on and join us on this crazy ride! We promise it'll be full of laughs, tears, and lots of DIY fails (and wins!). Welcome to our channel!

Thanks for sharing your amazing vacation experience. Also appreciated hearing that you decided to block your VR for a set time so you could actually relax💞😊. My husband and I self manage too. We've yet to take any extended time off in the last 4 years, out of fear our 3 VR properties would be ok without our involvement. Thanks for the inspiration!
It was definitely not an easy decision, but we figured we could always make more money and time away to refill our cups was worth it!
A much deserved vacation for you guys. So glad you took the time to really be present and enjoy the culture, food, & art. You’ve given me so many great ideas for my next trip to the boot. 🇮🇹
@kristin&michael I’m so glad y’all got a vacation!
Where did you get your sweater Kristin?
I'm loving your sharing your trip with us! I think it's smart that you took time away from your Airbnb! ❤
Guys, I love your journey in life. You are an inspiration. 🤩God bless you both
Aww thank you so much! :)
Loving the travel vlog! A wonderful insight into international airbnbs
Thanks so much for sharing your vacation adventures. I totally agree with you blocking your rental. Having a complete vacation is priceless, and you will never regret it or miss the revenue you might have made.
Right?? First time in 2, almost 3 years… so worth it! 🥹
Good for you two!! After the year you’ve had and all the work you’ve put into your property, you definitely deserve a real vacation! I was actually curious how you were managing it because I just recently got back from Tuscany and had a friend help since the time difference is so much.
I enjoy watching your journey and adventures! ❤
Thank you so much! It was so needed! Having someone check on it here and there while we were away and having the peace of mind of not having guests was wonderful. Next time we’ll probably have a friend help or family so we keep the revenue flowing. Thank you for watching our journey! 🫶
I definitely think blocking the days off and taking a true vacation is a wise decision that's worth it. Taking time to actually fully rest and even to feel bored is so so important for self care. You can't be on 24-7-365!
It was definitely worth it! After the last year we had we'll take all the self care we can get haha
Remember the name Italy 🇮🇹 ❤️
Amazing!👌🏻
Thank you! Cheers!
So glad you guys shut it down so you can relax and enjoy. We did the same thing when we were in Costa Rica for 10 days. Just wasn't worth the stress.
1000%! Glad we aren't alone
You were right to take a real vacation sans your airbnb. Loving this change of role and pace in Italia.
Thank you so much!
Fun!
Michael being the dad of this vacation 😂😂
I want to move to Italy sooo bad!!!
Same! 😭✨
Congrats on your travels 💐
Thank you
I keep my STR running, while on vacation. My last trip was a month. And I am about to hop on the plane for a week long birthday trip. I usually try to time it so that I leave the day after somebody checks in. And then I usually have somebody I trust on call.
So great you have someone you can trust to call on! That's a huge help!
I wish I were a foreigner so I could understand what it feels like to see Italy for the first time.
hahah imagine living in a place where all of the buildings are square, built within the last 30-50 years, and every city looks the same no matter which one you go to. And the food at every restaurant is supplied by one of the 10 mega-manufactures, so it all tastes the same. Then you go to a place like Italy with beautiful architecture, thousands of years of history and food made with love. It's truly a magical place for us from the US!
@@kristenandmichael What a strange feeling, being born in Italy I had never thought about it. Last year I went on holiday to Germany (it's an 8 hour drive from my house). Very beautiful but honestly not like Italy. I was in the US in 1999 but only in New York City, so very limited viewing. I hope you will then return to Italy to visit other beauties.
@@ProfumoDiSanremo we hope to someday! 🙏🏼✨
"La dolce vita" is true....😉
👍😎👍
Come to Aruba next time.
Ohh where is the best place in Aruba to visit?
Ssssssssiesta time
How're u both doing ?
I think that when the train’s 60 plus minutes late you can get a full refund (that’s what happened to me at least 😉)
Enjoy Italy 🇮🇹
Oh wow! I wish we would have known that, good to know for next time ☺
450 euro per night people.... seriously..
Limoncello Spritz 🤌🏼
Ooo we’ll have to try that next time!
