I hate getting stolen from! But today we're going to talk about a couple of very creative thieves and how they managed to steal thousands of dollars from my contracting business. - Развлечения
My dude takes every hit like a champ and stays up
They hit me again today for 20,000 😢
Merry Christmas Mark and family and all the SWI team, Florida and Wyoming 🎄
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year. I still owe you a shirt and will get it out soon.
Hey, Mark! Thanks for your great content. I enjoy you and your brother very much. I didn't realize you have this channel until I saw the link on the Wyoming-based channel. In any event, I'm sorry you had to go through these frauds and scams. I was just watching some of your older videos and I saw , at least once, that you had one of your license plates very clear. You were attaching it to the new truck and a number of times, it was in quite close-up view, for quite some time, perfectly clear. Past work and experience has taught me that it is another safety strategy to obscure the license place in photos and videos. It may not be your biggest threat, but one that is quite easily addressed. Thank you again!
I haven’t figured out how this info helps anyone. Any data from a plate is easily found by searching public records other places. 🤷♂️
@@SuccessfulContractor I think it's a matter of what some might call "keeping honest people honest." A lot of information can be found by searching public records. But then there is hanging information in front of others. Like putting money in the console versus putting it on the dashboard.
This is truly depressing
We will be a lot more vigilant with our accounts Dam thieves and mules. They should cover more than a week if get hacked and should always protect our money with signature detection crazy.
Great video look forward to the next 👍👍👍👍
You basically should be checking for fraud every day and perhaps twice a day.
Someone stole a dam? That’s damn impressive!
One of my employees got scammed once and they got access to his bank account. Long story short they got a hold of some copies of his check deposit (from my business) and they were able to customize the check and cash it luckily we caught it 2 days later and froze the account they tried doing about 5 more transactions. 6 months later we get a phone call from a guy in Nashville asking why we sent a $600 check to him (same check # they used before) lol
I hate lazy thieves!
Such a pain! We ended up making separate accounts as well, one is a sweep account for ACH payments we receive. That way we can still receive ACH payments but everything is transferred out daily to an account that doesn't have checks and isn't linked to anything. They can probably still get to the money but it's a lot like having a 'security' fence, you're really just trying to make it difficult enough to make them move along to someone else.
So right!
Thanks for the info.
Happy to pass it along.
WOW THATS UNREAL !!!!
I should update because it happened again!!!
Scary stuff. What about requiring two signatures on all checks above a certain amount? Would that help?
Not at all since the signature on the check was already forged and the bank doesn’t even try to verify signatures.
Online Payment Portals are the way to go!!
For real!
Those Capital One Mobile payments just recently happened to my own private bank account.
Thats terrible. 😡
When we take down payments for a job we typically get the money through ACH so they don’t incur a connivence fee for the card. Does this fraud change the way you take your deposits
All our deposits are taken through check, credit card or ACH so this really doesn’t affect that part of the process.
Green land 🧑💻🤦🏻♂️
update?
Update, Short a camera guy….hopefully soon.
