I own and frequently use 2 Chinese camp chairs. They have been flawless the last 3 years for my 200lbs frame. I did recently purchase the Helinox chair zero just for the weight for my UL summer camping load out. As a fellow Canadian, I’m happy I finally found this channel!
I've just brought the sportineer chair and found it very comfortable and easy to assemble/disassemble, I wouldn't pay several times the price for a lighter wobblier chair. Good to see you back
I have the Helinox and like it so far. Purchased it at Camper's Village back in May for $89.00 CDN, plus tax. Originally I though it was too flimsy. I am 6ft, 200lbs, but it is great. Sitting in it now. 🍻👍
Good to see you back and hope all is well. The Sportneer chair looks to be slightly larger and more comfy but how it will bear up to constant use will be interesting to see but for the price it looks a good deal.
So good to see you out in nature again my friend!!! Im all about saving money. A chair is a chair. At that price you can replace the cheap one if needed and still spend less. Im heading out in 2 weeks to camp on lake Superior for a weekend alone. Im so excited.. No skeeters!!! woo hooo. Cheers Michael!
Hi Jacqueline! The cheaper chair is pretty good and as you say so much cheaper! The ultralight people will pay the extra for the 1lb weight of the Helinox - But for me either chair is great! Hope you have a great time camping - I love that area! 👍
Wanted a light weight chair for some time. Found one on sale 50% off at Atmosphere/SportChek. No the cheapest chair on the market but much less expensive than the Helios and very close in weight. So far, I am loving it. Time will tell
Awesome Mark - As I've gotten a bit older having something to keep me comfortable is worth the weight. 😉. Atmosphere sometimes has some amazing deals - I always check the flyers! Nice to hear from you my friend!
*It is what it says it is. Lightweight, packable, and low profile. I bought one for a camping trip, once it arrived my fiance wanted one as well. They take a little getting used to but overall I would recommend one to a friend*
Interesting, this is the value comparison I’ve thought about. With the significant price difference and seemingly comparable construction, we may discover what a marketing department is worth... BTW, I’ve been watching ur channel long enough to completely trust ur opinion. Thx M.
Doesn’t seem to be available on Amazon yet. There are no sellers offering the product. Correction- your link updated ship address to CA. Sportneer does offer shipments to USA via Amzn prime. 👍
I rec'd my leg adjustable Sportneer chair this p.m. The chair height is adjustable from 13"-15". I opened & followed the assembly instructions which you completely ignored. Attach the fabric to the bottom of the chair frame, that which you sit on, FIRST 2nd, use the finger hold pull tab on the corners to easily attach the fabric back to the chair frame back supports. The TRICK is getting the frame & fabric back into the smallish storage pack. It's a chair I'll take with me on day hikes. I seriously doubt I'll carry it on overnighters. Warm Regards from Reno, Nevada
I think that the cheaper chair my not last as long where there is so much more mesh and it my tear easier time will tell . Looking forward to the overall performance
The cheeper chair looks wider in the seat is it? I like the cheeper one. But would not buy eather of them. I am a tall guy and have problems getting out of this style of chair. I enjoy your videos.
Do you find that the seat is nice and deep? I have tried a few models but I usually wear nylon rain or wind pants and seem to slide out of them if my legs are stretched out. :( Thanks for sharing.
Nice comparison review. Wasn't in the market for these chairs but I was curious and I enjoyed your video. I believe the 2 pack is available at a discount. Will the code work for that as well?
"Pounds are cheap ounces are expensive" as the saying goes. I have the Helinox and love it but if I'm backpacking I count every ounce and there's no way I'd consider anything heavier. Even the Helinox would stay home on a long difficult hike.
Would have to go for the much cheaper chair. Can't see the other being that much better to be 4 times + the price, cheaper looked to fit you better as well.
Very nice covering . Should halp keep your jeep clean .for trading or leasen.😊. Wife,I gest got back from a cribin crouse. With 5 other friends. Great time with cool 😎 friends. Bust of luck, safe for all yours trivial. Arth
I came across one of your vids yesterday and i feel compelled to asseverate my complete adoration of your wondrous furry companion Esme. She is absolutely enchanting, when her coat is fully grown out, her little legs can barely be seen, she is akin to a corkie mixed with a lab, do you know her biological heritage? PS How did an Englishman end up in Canada? Although i cannot blame you for choosing to reside there whatsoever, its a beautiful landscape
Hello Irene - I'm glad you like Esme, she is a special pup. (well they all are to be honest - lol). She is a mixed bread Clumber Spaniel - and she loves people especially children. I moved away from the UK around 10 years ago and have zero regrets 🇨🇦
Nice video mate. Not sure why folk bother with companies like Sportneer who don't innovate, but just clone other great designs like the Helinox range of chairs. And do it poorly I might add.
Hey Juz70, I don't agree on this one my friend. Helinox make great gear and I have spent lots of money with them. Absolutely love the Cot One models. However, to build something to a budget IS innovation in my mind. I use my sportneer chair 10x more than my Helinox because is more sturdy and I don't worry about breaking or losing it. The sportneer is very well made but maybe not Helinox level 👍
Thanks for this review. I was going to buy the helinox xl and had it saved on Amazon before Christmas, checked it last night and the price had sent up $50. I'm not paying $150 for a made in Korea chair. Don't care how light it is, that's ridiculous. I'm now buying Two of the sportneer, BUT I'm getting the adjustable model💡
Request for new chair review: I found my helinox high back chair worthless because all the pressure on my tailbone made it uncomfortable, until I made two styrofoam feet to raise the front two legs a couple inches. Now it's amazing. I bought rocking feet for it😃... Do the small lowback chairs have similar properties? & is it comfortable reclined back? (Sportneer makes the same chair w/adjustable legs) I find footrests are essential too.
Thanks Aaron for the sub! I find the Sportneer very comfortable and it has a pretty relaxed seating position! If you buy from Amazon you can always return it if it doesn't work for you!
When I was shopping around for a chair like that, I got myself a Trecology one built in Seattle. $39.00 CND free shipping. Best $39.00 I've spent on a camp chair.
You have to have stupid money to buy the more expensive one......and common sense to buy the cheaper one.....good video to teach people about price gouging in the marketplace. Thanks

Thanks Banshee107! 🇨🇦 I really like the sportneer and kinda keep my Helinox for special occasions 😊
Great for motorcycle camping I have the cheap one over 2 yrs and it's still going strong.
Awsome - Great to know!
I've just brought the sportineer chair and found it very comfortable and easy to assemble/disassemble, I wouldn't pay several times the price for a lighter wobblier chair.
Good to see you back
Thanks Dean - lots of people like the Sportneer! So it seems!
I bought the same chair couple years ago. Great chair no problems especially for the price. Good little video. Cheers
Thanks for the feedback Rob!
Going for the Sportneer chair. Thanks.
Good choice! There is a new Sportneer model with adjustable legs thats the same price - I'd recommend that one!
I have the Helinox and like it so far. Purchased it at Camper's Village back in May for $89.00 CDN, plus tax. Originally I though it was too flimsy. I am 6ft, 200lbs, but it is great. Sitting in it now. 🍻👍
Awesome - that's a great price!

Hi Trev - we will see indeed - Used it this weekend also and so far so good!
I am a light weight, so I will go for the cheaper version. Nice to see you out again Michael, Regards, Tony.
Thanks Tony!

Thanks for the info! I'm still using my Sportneer and its a great seat for travelling! 👍
Reminds me of a Tinker Toy set I had as a kid, where sticks fit into different blocks to build things. LOL
Hahaha - I remember those!
Michael Esme and Simon, Thanks for sharing this review . Great to visit with you again. I hope this finds you well my friend. God bless ! 👍
Thanks Michael for the kind wishes - hope you year os going well so far! 👍
I have one from Helikon Tex in Munticam and one in Black.
Nice!
We love our Sportneer Chairs!
Thanks Sally! Me too!
I love my Helinox, it's the correct hight for cooking on the camp-stove or Trangia 🍺🍷🐾🐕🐶👍
Hi Chris - Yup I'd agree with you there! 🍻
Interesting, this is the value comparison I’ve thought about. With the significant price difference and seemingly comparable construction, we may discover what a marketing department is worth... BTW, I’ve been watching ur channel long enough to completely trust ur opinion. Thx M.
Thanks Mustang! We will see how the cheaper one hold up but you are right - marketing is another word for lying! LOL
Doesn’t seem to be available on Amazon yet. There are no sellers offering the product.
Correction- your link updated ship address to CA. Sportneer does offer shipments to USA via Amzn prime. 👍
Huh - I though my link was for the US 🤔. Ill check it out!
Agree with RatdogDRB, I'm tooo old for low chairs, need the sit up an beg type. More room for Esme and Simon on a high chair :-)
These kind of chairs are for Backpackers. They're made that way on purpose!
I rec'd my leg adjustable Sportneer chair this p.m. The chair height is adjustable from 13"-15". I opened & followed the assembly instructions which you completely ignored.

The one reviewed here doesn't have the extendable legs 😐 That's the newer models and I have couple of them now 👍
I think that the cheaper chair my not last as long where there is so much more mesh and it my tear easier time will tell . Looking forward to the overall performance
Hi Dave - The Sportneer is still going strong but I'll keep the channel updated on any change! 😉
The cheeper chair looks wider in the seat is it? I like the cheeper one. But would not buy eather of them. I am a tall guy and have problems getting out of this style of chair. I enjoy your videos.
Thanks for the comment - these chairs are small and there are alot of compromises compared to the larger one - But they seem to work fine for me 😉
Good video I'm new to your channel but I've had both chairs and I would prefer the sportneer
Hi Drew welcome to the channel! Interesting 🤔
Do you find that the seat is nice and deep? I have tried a few models but I usually wear nylon rain or wind pants and seem to slide out of them if my legs are stretched out. :( Thanks for sharing.
Its not too bad - I'm 200lb and it works for me 😄
I like chairs. Use them evsinglg day
LOL 😄
Nice comparison review. Wasn't in the market for these chairs but I was curious and I enjoyed your video. I believe the 2 pack is available at a discount. Will the code work for that as well?
Thanks Krispy - The Sportneer chair has help up well with no issues. Its a while since the video so I'm not sure about the code! Give it a try! 👍
Ru anywhere near Flatbush? We're up here on the farm!
Yup - not far to the south. I used to hunt on a friends land in Flatbush - Great place for riding and getting away 👍
After Esme goes off hunting at 3:27, did she have squirrel for dinner that night? Good introduction to the Sportneer chair.
Hahaha - No the squirrels just tease the dogs - way too fast for dinner! 🐿
"Pounds are cheap ounces are expensive" as the saying goes. I have the Helinox and love it but if I'm backpacking I count every ounce and there's no way I'd consider anything heavier. Even the Helinox would stay home on a long difficult hike.
I like the expression! "Pounds are cheap ounces are expensive" 👍 So very true!
Would have to go for the much cheaper chair. Can't see the other being that much better to be 4 times + the price, cheaper looked to fit you better as well.
Thanks for the feedback Stephen!

Thanks Arthur!! Wow I bet that was a great trip!!! 🛳🌴 Glad you have a great time 👍

I think a blanket on the ground.
Sure why not 👍

I like the Sportneer, as it has a little more height to it but may still be to low for this old lady to get up.
Hahaha - and this rapidly getting older guy too! 😃
100 dollars in my pocket is always better!! Thanks for the video
Indeed it is! Even better in my pocket 😉
Do you still have the pioneer 500 ?
Hi Ron - I sold the P500 to move to the Argo. I change UTV's every 3 years as a rule - but I miss the old girl 😥 Great machine for the price!
The Helinox is probably half the weight of the other chair. They have a great chair, table, and cot.
Yup the Helinox is half the weight. I own two Helinox cots too and they are the best you can buy 👍
Helinox is half the weight, 1 pound. It’s made for backpacking and the Sportneer is for camping.
Dido, I own 2 Chinese camp chairs and have been awesome but the chair zero I use in my UL summer pack.
That is pretty much it. I went with the Helinox Zero.
Exactly !
To test the weight limits, let me come up and sit on them.
LOL
Does either one specify a weight limit?
The cheaper one is 350lb the more expensive is 220lb as I recall - go figure! 🤔
@@TheEmporiumOutdoors .
WHAT THE HEY!
Must be different somewhere.
Still itching to see you go on a trip.
Been too long.

I use my Sportneer almost all the time and actually love it! Its a great chair for the price! Let me know how it works out for you! 👍

I'm subscribing right now for good content and maybe a reply or follow up review.
Thanks Aaron for the sub! I find the Sportneer very comfortable and it has a pretty relaxed seating position! If you buy from Amazon you can always return it if it doesn't work for you!
That Esme face @3:24 🍖
Hahaha - Ikr!
I like the larger, heavey chair. No back packing for me! 😂
Ive been using the Sportneer for sometime now and actually like it a lot!
The cheaper one looks more comfortable.
They are both pretty comfortable - but the cheaper one is slightly bigger that's for sure!
40 dollar chair would do just fine
When I was shopping around for a chair like that, I got myself a Trecology one built in Seattle. $39.00 CND free shipping. Best $39.00 I've spent on a camp chair.
Awesome - I think a lot of companies make the same thing under different brand names!
Nice chairs but... you have the Argo so go full weight hahaha!
Indeed! Its a bit of a mute point when you have a machine to haul your gear!
@@TheEmporiumOutdoors I'm looking forward to coming back home! I'm buying a new machine should be interesting. Cheers!
sorry, but for the money i'd go with the sportneer everytime
Who are you apologizing too?
You have to have stupid money to buy the more expensive one......and common sense to buy the cheaper one.....good video to teach people about price gouging in the marketplace. Thanks
Thanks G F! 👍
Too close to the ground for an old fart like me. I likes a full sized camp chair.
Yup - I hear you. Bigger is much more comfortable! 😉
I have a variation (no name) which is a bit higher and has a back rest. Only slightly heavier but well worth it for the extra comfort.
The lower the chair, the easier it is to find a footrest.
I can tell you are not a Backpacker. You're not going to carry a regular camping chair with you on the trail. LOL
