    Hello Dr.. Puspendra. I am 53 now and I was supposed to write my Pre-Phd examinations this week. Started reading books 2 months ago on Analytical Chemistry, but could not pick up easily and then I started watching your videos and was quickly able to pick up the topics like Polaraography, UV-VIS SPectrophotomer, GC, HPLC etc., I found that you made more than 150 videos or so on various topics and thats amazing. Thank you very much for your efforts. Will continue watching your videos whenever I require some information

    How does migration current decrease on increasing concentration of supporting electrolyte? Also, why do we need to add a supporting electrolyte at all?

    • @ShashankBajpai-e6s
      @ShashankBajpai-e6s 3 года назад +1

      analyte is responsible to migration current...in order to decrease this migration current we use supporting electrolyte
      How can analyte cause migration current rather than diffusion current ?
      Because when most of the analyte got exhausted...only few conc. Of them is present in solution lately this conc. Of analyte is responsible to cause fast migration to dropping mercury electrolyte and thus increases the current so rapidly which is not soever desired...therefore to reduce the fast migration of analyte we use supporting electrolytes

      That's why I'm telling you please go through the definition of cathode. Here Hg is not present in the solution form.
