    Very well done! When I saw the length of the video, I thought that it would have been edited to make it short. Amazed that you did the entire job in 19 minutes. Super job.

    what do the ball joints do? im new to cars. this is my vehicle type, and im trying to keep it maintained. does it influence the ride? like keep it smoother or something? why do you replace them?

    • @eegg6954
      @eegg6954 Год назад +1

      A worn ball joint can make for a wobbly ride. It can cause tire wear and poor handling. And it can separate, causing you to lose a wheel and thereby control of the vehicle. This can cause death to you, your passengers and others. It can also damage your car.

    I’d recommend using a screw jack to jack it back up to ride height. It’s very important to reinstall it while In ride height Or you’ll wear it twice as fast! But good video

    I am watching this video because I got Moog lower control arms 8/10/2021 and they didn’t even last a few hundred miles before the rubber split and introduced dirt and debris into the balljoint. I am now needing to replace them to better the steering.
    And I see you using Moog? Hahaha. Ewww.

    I know everyone does it and it's a well-known trick but are we really supposed to hammer the aluminum knuckle to pop the top ball joint? I can never bring myself to do this. it's gonna break someday for somebody. Steel forging, yeah, pound away. Aluminum? Thoughts? I think I have seen some with a 'raised flat spot' ideal for pounding.....but usually just round.

    Should have replaced that rusty backing plate, it would be an MoT roadworthiness failure in the UK. I think the rotor would have needed removing if it were a 4x4, but this is a 2x4.

    Looks to me that the upper ball joint was worn also when you pushed on it. There should be zero play inthe upper or lower ball joint. And it should be rather tight in the socket of the joint.

      Thank you so much for your noticed.
      I saw everything before you see in video.
      My video is covering lower ball joint and no included upper control arm and joint.
      I am running a shop a mechanic and also customer is a king. King said no money , it mean no part replaced.
      I just share my small experiences to people how to replace some car parts . I am not opening class to teach people how to torque bolts or nuts. but all people can ask me for how much torque on bolts and nuts need anytime.
      Thank you so much for ur value comments.

      @@kimhoeunchhay4295 dont how many times while changing powerstroke injectors, the customer would approve only one or two. I'd tell them they'd be back for the rest within a month due if one or two are failing the rest are not far behind in failing. For suspension and brake repair refusals I'd make them sign the original repair order stating they're refusing repairs to cover my rear-end if something failed.
