Road-tripping family believes they spotted Gabby Petito’s van in video

- On August 27, the Bethune family was trying to find a spot to camp for the night when they found themselves in the Spread Creek camping area near Grand Teton National Park, where remains were found Sunday matching Gabby Petito's description.
Jenn Bethune said the van they passed by appears to be the converted camper van that Petito and her fiancé - and person of interest - Brian Laundrie, were using to travel. But it wasn’t until this past Saturday when she connected the dots.

This woman is the key that helped find Gabby, God bless her. Its not a coincidence it was Ethans birthday when she found the footage, he was helping his mom find her.

There’s a video about John Walsh telling everyone the cause of death is beaten to death on Joseph Morris’s U Tube Channel & they show a clip in that video of a person in the field hands above his head whaling away😢 this is while the Brutents were driving by. I’ve seen that video of them driving by the van so many times & never noticed the person in the field until it was pointed out to us in this video he definitely killed her in that area.
This family are heroes. They searched their videos, notified the FBI first, then sought help with the van life community to narrow the search. The search area was several hundred thousand square acres. RIP Gabby.
@gene according to their live stream last night after sharing with FBI they asked their subs to share with other van life communities to see if anyone else could search their videos. What I gather is van life community is very open to helping one another. I’ve never seen so many ❤️ in a live stream.

In the car he had scratches on him, the only reason someone would scratch is if they are in able to punch which leads me to think he was over powering her at some point. People don’t scratch as their first option, they punch and if she is unable to punch then that’s why she was scratching…

She’s not determined to help them *despite* her own loss. Her own pain no doubt actually fuels it. Gabby’s parents are now in the same boat of having lost a child suddenly and violently, and this lovely woman can help them cope with that as well.

Jaynay, I have also lost a child in a car accident! It doesn't surprise me that this woman got involved and called the FBI. I speak from experience that when you lose a child, many bereaved parents advocate for other parents that have lost a child. I applaud her for being forthright in helping to find Gabby! As I write this Gabby has been found. Heartbreaking for her family and friends who loved her. 😣

I'm wondering why this case is getting so much attention. Obviously it's important at this point to find Brian, and deliver justice to Gabby's loved ones. But it almost feels like cases like these are a distraction from what missing peoples cases most commonly are, which are sex trafficking and abductions taking place every day and going unsolved without any massive nationwide effort from investigators and media like this case is getting.

Such a wonderful family to have come across the van. I’m so sorry for the loss of her son. If my son passed I don’t think I would be able to enjoy life as this woman does still. I worked with a man that lost his son and it tears him up every day still years later. He breaks down emotionally on his lunch or after work. Gabby is terribly heartbreaking, we all want justice.
I believe they have had a lot of individual and family counselling to enable them to go on and they have 3 other children to care for. Such wonderful people.

Now it’s time to make Brian’s parents squirm like hell. They went and retrieved Brian’s car and that to me is tampering with critical evidence.
They dropped the car off, left it overnight, then picked it up the next day. Looking like they did it intentionally so his car would be seen there so the cops would have to waste time searching the area.

This woman was absolutely in the right place at the right time. As a practicing Medium this is what I refer to as divine timing when facing situations such as these with my own clients. There are no accidents...our destiny is fated through the choices we make while walking our paths. What a beautiful soul indeed!
This entire case is just almost a perfect storm. Many people go missing like this and are never found. Luckily Gabby had a platform for people to be invested in her whereabouts and realize something was wrong, then you have this awesome lady and her family that also had a platform, happened to be in the area AND recording which ended up providing evidence.
As much as I agree with what you’re saying, it makes me sad. How many people out there are missing/have been murdered and won’t get this type of media coverage because they are not privileged enough to have thousands of people searching for them? Hopefully this case will encourage people to seek out missing people, regardless of their social media presence/news coverage.

WHEN I SAW GABBY CRYING SO MUCH, AND BRIAN, RIGHT AWAY I SAW AN ABUSED WOMAN, MENTALLY ABUSED. AND BRIAN TO ME LOOKED VERY ODDLY SUSPICIOUS, AND NERVOUS. AND WHEN POLICE SAID THEY WERE GOING TO ARREST HER, I SAID GOOD, SHE WILL OPEN UP ABOUT MANY THINGS. THEY THE POLICE WERE TAKING PICTURES OF BRIANS ARM AND FACE, WITH LITTLE SCRATCHES, WOW, I AM NOT LAW ENFORCEMENT, BUT I COULD TELL BY THE WAY HE WAS ACTING HE WAS THE AGGRESSOR. THE MOAB POLICE SHOULD HAVE ARRESTED HER ON AUGUST 12 WHEN THE STOPPED THEM, AFTER I HEARD SOMEON HAD CALLED IN, BRIAN HAD PUSHED HER AND LOCKED HER OUT OF THE VAN. @David R The media has an elitism problem (and as a byproduct is not as diverse as it needs to be). But what also helped get attention to this case is this girl had a social media trail (catnip for the press) and her family held press conferences, the stepdad flew out west. Families who have missing loved ones need to be the squeaky wheel with the police and send press releases out.

If we have no idea who the person is as in we don't have a following of them or understand any background info it's gonna be really hard for people to be motivated to find them for example, imagine if the only thing we knew was that video footage of Gabby and Brian getting pulled over. A LOT of people thought at that time that it was her abusing him and I admit I did too, so people would not have been motivated to find her because they would think be killed her simply because he couldn't take her abusiveness anymore, when people saw the truth they realized she does have a reason to be searched for, just saying

This footage reduced the search for Gabby from the "Western United States" to a specific campsite. That's amazing, I'm glad at least her family gets closure, even if they don't get their daughter back.
If it weren't for this video telling them where to look, who knows if they would have ever found her.

On nirvgorilla's channel he has a video titled Gabby Petito's van door, sandals, and driver seat. HQ Zoomed. In it he shows a camera view where you can see the front of the van's windshield. If someone with a decent photo editor can grab a still shot of that windshield, you might be able to zoom in and see if Brian is in the back looking, and out waiting for them to pass. I tried using ms photo editor and there does look to be someone's face on the top left passenger side of the van's windshield, behind the seat looking out.

Someone called 911 to report a couple fighting in public in town and the Police caught up with them as they entered the Ntl Park. The video is over an hour long and shows them being pulled over and questioned separately by Police. They ended up making Brian go to a hotel for the night and let Gabby go off in the van. When pulled over she was crying and upset and Brian had scratches on his face and arm. Gabby was cited for assault I think because Brian had the scratches and she admitted to hitting him. The Police did the absolute best they could, and handled the situation very well....they couldn’t have known what would happen ....
