"ESTAFA" MEANS PHILHEALTH
zzzzzsleeping Bwahahahahaha
LOL!!!!
😅😅
Plunder, mas bagay pa.
Legit🤣
I remember _Suki_ was mentioned on our books in Anthropology class and we read about it. I was so surprised cause that's such a big part of Filipino culture. I think _Gigil_ was also added too 😊
These words are in the dictionary as words are evolving. It might be acceptable in the Philippines setting, but westerners and other countries doesn't use it since they have own words corresponding to the terms discussed. Barong, halo-halo doesn't have equivalent terms in English since these are type of food or clothing, just like lumpia.
magiging hiram na salita nila yan sa pinas..parang tayo lang din..marami tayong hiram na salita mula sa america kasi walang direct translations sa tagalog.
We already have halo halo in US
English, much like Japanese or Spanish, etc are living languages as opposed to dead, like Latin. There is a need to add words to their dictionary to meet this evolution. Every so often, words fr countries all over the world are added after monitoring and screening for the appropriate ones. People whose jobs are in the media or speaking genre, and those who consider themselves worldly/educated, learn these new words everyday so as to deliver and start a trend. It is unfair to say that these new added Filipino words are only for the Filipino setting. Westerners are not stupid. New words added to the dictionary are for everyone to explore and use globally, not just locally.
The only country I know of that tries to maintain the pureness of its language is France (who can blame them?!), but their monitoring board still could not control the usage and fusion of foreign words into their vocabulary by the French themselves. It is just impossible in this internet era.
@@Ckawauchi35 Latin isn't completely dead. That's one of the misconceptions about it. The only thing that's "dead" is archaic Latin that was spoken by Julius Caesar and friends since no one is using it today.
@@angelacremonte9413 Dead in the sense that it is not evolving and the original native speakers are dying or are already dead, which is what the context of my entry was.
Ganitong mga YT channels ang dapat isubscribe. Maraming natututunan. 🇵🇭👌👌👌

Natuwa na ako na marami na palang Filipino words na consider na as English. ☺
Thank you Ma'am! ❤
Honestly, these words are NOT in American dictionaries and British dictionaries.
@@qbox4277 pero do they actually use it?
@@nadie.0 I realized I hadn't included "NOT" in my comment last time. I don't know which dictionary she's using but these words are definitely not on Merriam-Webster and Oxford Leaner's Dictionary, which are both the official dictionaries of American and British English.
@@nadie.0 hindi po.
@@qbox4277 sa google po but not in dictionary.
They used the same term (sinigang) because they dont have sinigang in other country which mean no equevalent word in their own languages.
Sinigang ay hindi English word it's Pinoy. kaya sabihin nyo Sinigang a Pinoy viand eaten with rice. But it's not English.
True!

Boondocks was the first pilipino word that was adopted into the English language. It was brought to america by returning soldiers
this was the only word I was looking for the words mentioned in the video are very questionable to me. they may be English but to be honest they would only be known mostly to Filipinos or foreigners with interest in the Filipino culture.
Don't forget "bolo" and "amok" (spelled amuck in English).
America may have colonised us but we gave them a few words in return.
Yeah that's true. In Marina del rey, California there are streets named Luzon, Visaya, Mindanao.
@@bb89670 really?
@@espedidosgs That's true. I'm not sure which dictionary she's looking at. In the U.S. we use primarily Mirriam-Webster or Oxford dictionaries.
Very well said Miss. We should support our kababayan huwag natin hihilain pababa. Ang isang tagumpay ng Pilipino ay tagumpay ng ating Inang Bayan. 🇵🇭🤓👍

KKB (kaniya kaniyang bayad) means to pay separately, also known as "Dutch Treat" where people (2 or more) pay separately for what they've ordered. But if you want everyone to "chip in" for the bill, in colloquial Tagalog we say "patak patak" which is the most commonly used idiom, or say "bayanihan", a word which everyone will immediately understand.
I agree. It is Hati-hati and not KKB.
KKB kanya kanyang bayad.pay your own bill.
Yung salitang "bongga" siguro dapat isama na din yan sa listahan😊

Manila envelopes, Manila folders very common here in USA-The tan-ish color of the envelope is known as Buff or un-dyed. Commonly featured with a top flap, they can be open ended or have a closing mechanism attached. Most common styles of manila envelope are the metal clasps envelope and the button and string envelope which can be found here. Manila envelopes are great for more than just businesses. I often used them to mail my documents. Widely used in offices and hospitals.

B.S. those are not english, they're only referring words that are use by filipinos.
Tama, word not found sa miriam webster dictionary app.
bb89670 Masyado kang bitter!
Even the word hydrogen was not an english word, the word they used before was waterstuff for hydrogen but it was replaced when they adopted greek language. And also english adopted the word “because” from latin, the old English for that would be “since”. Language evolved dude that’s why americans found new words that can’t express to them, they’ll gonna embrace it.
Amen... If they don't understand, tell them it is how Filipino calls it but these are not English.

"Tilapia" and "sisig" din po ay English na. Oprah, Martha Stewart, and a lot of chefs say that. I think "fashionista" started in our country and is now widely used worldwide. I agree with boondocks. Despedida and estafa though have long been part of English language.
Tilapia is an African word as I remember, nasa dictionary na yan ever since
