- This series was about a somewhat grumpy and uptight banker, Cosmo Topper, and the ghosts which only he could see or hear, George and Marion Kerby. The Kerbys would often try to get Cosmo to loosen up and enjoy life, but more often they would complicate it..stars Leo G. Carroll,Ann Jeffreys,Robert Sterling

I SO ENJOYED THIS SHOW AS A CHILD I AM GLAD I CAN SHARE IT TODAY .
THANK YOU .
Wow! Topper. I can't believe it!
This is neat. Thanks for posting this show. When I was very little, I used to watch this show but I couldn't have told you one thing about it, other than Leo G Carroll was in it, who later became Mr Waverly on The Man From UNCLE.
The Camel commercials are an interesting bit of nostalgia but RUclips commercialed this to death. They are as bad or worse than cable.
I watched this as a kid. The return of Topper is funny. If Rochester wasn't in the movie, it wouldn't have been as good. Rochester is so funny.
The good ole days
This scared the hell out of me when I was a little kid, because I didn't understand about the ghosts and didn't know why things were floating around like that.
When talent prevailed no vulgar crap no explosions just family entertainment anyone could watch any show anytime.
The series was based on Thorne Smith's original novel (and, to an extent, the 1937 Hal Roach feature).
Today, Cosmo Topper works for the the New York Federal Reserve. He is a big supporter of quantitative easing and austerity on health care and education.
I enjoyed this show when I was a kid. But I thought Robert was SERLING not Sterling. Leo G. Carrol was a great actor.

Great show !!
Thanks for posting this. I'm in flavour country.
The camels get lit, but don't get a real drag, they're really strong cigarettes
The series was originally sponsored by R.J. Reynolds {Camel, Cavalier} on CBS' Friday night schedule at 8:30pm(et) from 1953 through '55. This episode, "Topper Goes to Las Vegas", was originally telecast on April 23, 1954.
"'TOPPER' is a film presentation."
Love to see these cig commercials. In realizing the ironic analogy that in fifty more years we will see the same
But in commercials seeing children with cell phones
Talking on cell phones holding them up to their ears
And lemmings again will exclaim in disgust “How stupid were they back then knowing that cell phones cause brain cancer!
I used to watch Topper as a little boy. Really enjoyed it. The ghosts were a great gimmick and the tipsy dog. I wonder how many episodes survive?
Season 1 Episode 29: Topper Goes to Las Vegas
So sad so miss informed about the smokes.
Do you have Topper Season 1 Episode 12 ?
OMG
Is this a remake from the movie? The characters in the movie were a lot funnier, Billie Burke is great and Cary Grant and Roland Young work good against each other. It starts as Topper Part one. There was also Topper returns, I thought it was just as funny as the original.
Oh, for the good ole days of early TV when shows had one sponsor and less commercial interruption. Now we're deluged with 20-25 30-second spots ad nauseum! More commercial than actual show. *DISGUSTING!!!*

To bad the cancer commercials couldn’t be removed
moHAMad lol....nice enunciation
UnwantedStudios3 ~> FYI Before Anne Jeffries, Robert Sterling was married to Ann Sothern and they had a daughter together. Anne Jeffries had previously been in those 1940s Dick Tracy movies as Tess Trueheart. ☺
How come the DOG aint smoking??
The dog's vice is drinking, remember?
Did Cosmo die of lung cancer?
G
when did Neil, the alcoholic dog come aboard?
never mind - neil made the intro
Neil was killed in the avalanche along with the Kirbys on the series pilot. BTW the actress who played Henrietta Topper was Mrs. Upson, wife of Claude Upson in the movie Auntie Mame that starred Roz Russell. ☺
In the series that ran during the 60's Neil appeared all the time
This series was produced between 1953 and '55.....and endlessly repeated into the '60s.
I'm more familiar with the series that ran during the 60's. The previous series was just a little before my time.
they don't have any good show n
the edits and "special" effects are sooooo bad....
