Cheers mate I owe you a 6 pack 🍻🍻🍻🍻🍻just put it on ramps and did it underneath and getting my mate to line up bolts while I guided under. I didn't take off the exhaust manifold
No need to take manifold off
Yes yes saftey very important when work under car frame
Can not comment on the VZ, (never owned one) but the 09 VE Omega wagon has the same problem. Starter motor will not come out without the exhaust manifold coming off.
Sorry if Im missing something, why did you remove the front wheel & jack the car up if you worked from inside the engine bay?
You removed the exhaust manifold to remove the starter? It can be done without removing the manifold, just remove the heat shield from the starter and slide it out the front....
Yeah removed the exhaust, on the ground in the carport made it sense when I was rushing the other day.
@@deanbryan3034 When I replaced mine it was a matter of removing the heatshield and then unbolting the starter and removing it from the front under the manifold, there is space, doesn't actually take very long to do and that was my first one on an alloytec....
@@stephenpartridge686 I think.my issue was the heat shield on the starter itself, I got the torx bolt but it felt like I had missed another bolt, after looking for and not being able to find one went with popping the exhaust off.
@@deanbryan3034 I had a similar issue, I spent a fair amount of time looking for the second screw in the heat shield as I had watched a video previously (for a VE Commodore) that showed two, there is only one on the Vz, once the shield is removed it's easy...
you need to clarify the content
That is a lot of unnecessary work. Access from above and dead simple.
