It was perfect match by Roger. Great serve and he lost only a few points on his serve in entire match.Almost without unforced errors. Maybe Basel crowd motivates him to play better. This match and US Open 2008 final were his best matches in 2008.
@cbee69 totally agree, Nalbandian is pure class and he put ball wherever he want. In that match you will see the best two handed backhand, one the best drop shots, the best defensive slice, the best kick serve, thes forehand, the bests lobs... THE BEST SMART GAME! In other words the best Tennis!
this is pure tennis. i love how both players are cunning in their tactical placement of their shots. another thing is both do not grunt. its like a chess game.
La contrapierna perfecta de Federer en el 1er set que lo deja pintado a David. Luego David en el 2do set le hace LA MISMA contrapierna imposible para Roger. increíble ese ángulo.
@GyariSan ehh I think he does have the firewpower. He's always been a really agressive baseliner when he's playing well. That backhand of his is ridiculous.
ah cheers :) In the madrid masters there testing blue clay and may use it for next year if players agree to it but wiki said that and thats iffy and carpet umm why they get rid of it?
Nalbandian's game relies heavy on consistency. He doesn't have firepower so can't exactly go from plan A to plan B as back up. High consistency means he requires strong mentality and dedication to the game, which he lacks alot of the times.
@jpark907 Don't get me wrong, he's a brilliant player. His backhand technically and effectiveness is the best in the game I admit. But he doesn't have alot of raw weapons as back up. It's unfortunate that he can't earn more free points.
@cristianmassagana purely on a tennis level its a close call, but what gives the Federer-Nadal the edge is just the drama, number 1 and 2 for so long, its like a battle to show to everyone else who is better if you know what i mean, but tennis wise these 2 are my fav players ever.
Just passing through on my journey to watch every Federer match.
Roger looks like he's hitting the balls harder now. He looked in great form.
Btw, that trophy looks huge!

I wouldn't mind getting one of those trophies =D
@RastafarianPikachu Best comment evz
Nalbadian.... one of the most wasted talents in tennis, he had so much potential...
@cristianmassagana Yea more finesse from both guys than with Fed vs. Nadal.
Nalbandian's Rules!
ah cheers :)

I like far away more Federer vs Nalbandian than Federer vs Nadal. Pure Tennis class.
