    Hi
    Is lengthening by ilizarov fixator can prevent valgus during lengthening of tibia? Since it is a more modular device compared to monorail fixator or internal nail, can't it be used to make sure there are no deformities WHILE lengthening?
    Thanks

    Hi Dr., are there videos/images showing the scarring? and do you provide scar care&treatments at your facility?

    • @dr.donghoonlee1101
      @dr.donghoonlee1101  3 года назад +1

      Hi, thank you for your comment. we do not usually show the patients' scars in our videos or images due to their privacy. we attached this video for you since it seems like you are interested in scarring ruclips.net/video/-BPv0fQTgKk/видео.html
      To talk about the scars more specifically, going through the surgery by PRECICE or STRYDE produces much less scars compared to LON (lengthening over nail). Also, the amount of scars differs a lot by each patient's skin type, physical conditions and so on. we provide the special patch to the patients to relieve the scars, but we recommend the patients to undergo the scar revision surgery if they really care about the scars. For more information, please contact us via e-mail info@drdonghoon.com Thank you!

    Just wanted to know if varus deformity can also lead to Osteoarthritis

    • @dr.donghoonlee1101
      @dr.donghoonlee1101  4 года назад +2

      Hi, thank you for your comment. Regarding your inquiry, varus deformity can also lead to Osteoarthritis. the risk of getting Osteoarthritis goes higher as aging, but if you have varus deformity, or even other deformities such as knock-knee, rotational deformity, etc, all of them can promote the occurrence of Osteoarthritis. For more information, please contact us via e-mail info@drdonghoon.com Thank you!

    Can i still get the correction surgery at age 30? and how long is the recovery period?

    • @dr.donghoonlee1101
      @dr.donghoonlee1101  Год назад

      Yes you can. Here's a link to a video where dr explains about age limit: ruclips.net/video/yERoCdK1_64/видео.html
      Exact recovery time is different for everyone. It depends on the type of surgery method, and also on your progress such as how hard you work on rehab/how fast your bone regenerates etc. For 6cm femoral lengthening, patients can start to walk without crutches after around 4 months from the surgery date with PRECICE on average.

    I can't bend my knee after femur length.I don't know why (left passive 80 degree, active 45 , right passive 55-60 active 40-45) My friends got femur length with lon method like me . They bend knee in 2-3 month. But i asked them many time they feel pain in the muscles when they bend. But i feel pain inside the knee when i bend. I think I have scar tissue inside of the my knee . That's why I can't bend. I visit doctor. He said i nee stop go under Quadriceplasty surgery. I don't k is what to do. Is this surgery risky or not ? Or arthroscopy surgery good for my knee and after that physical therapy ?

    With precise 2.0 is it possible to lengthen tibia and femur while correcting knock knee at the same time?

      @dr.donghoonlee1101  4 месяца назад

      hello! thank you for your patience.
      and it may or may not be possible depending on the patient's condition. if the cause of your knock knee deformity & osteotomy site for lengthening lies in the same location, it may be able to be done simultaneously.

    Is knock knee an issue when doing femurs with strydes or just tibias?

    • @dr.donghoonlee1101
      @dr.donghoonlee1101  3 года назад +2

      Hi, thank you for your comment. Regarding your inquiry, as long as the deformity (knock knee) is not severe, there's not an issue with lengthening the femur & tibia by STRYDE. The patient can correct the deformity and lengthen the legs at the same time. For further information, please contact us via e-mail info@drdonghoon.com Thank you!

      @@999yuiop Hey Johnny, sorry for the delayed reply. It's not common as much as in tibias and usually it's not clinically significant but it's possible. This is answer only referring to the lengthening phase, if the surgeon isn't well experienced any minor deformity can occur during the operation.
