I think the voice is very similar to Bob Geldof's voice. Perhaps this is an unreleased song by his band, The Boomtown Rats, or the vocals just have a similar pitch as the Irishman
It’s likely that this is an unreleased demo, so we must contact some radio stations. Do you know which radio it could’ve been? As in which ones you used?
Possible lead? It kind of sounds like an 80s band The Jetzons, they're fairly obscure and undocumented which is surprising due to the polish of their music and the fact that their keyboard player went on to become a musical director for Michael Jackson, some of their songs may be lost they played live at Merlins in the early 80s where the performed lots of songs that have no studio version to be found, now it could be that these songs were only ever performed live, but if there is a lost album from this group the unreleased songs from that concert could be on there aswell as this song the lead singer also joined several different bands following the breakup of The Jetzons bands being the Strand, the Cryptics, The Pearl Chuckers, the Busted Hearts, Suicide Kings, and Revenants which are even more obscure due to the obscurity of these bands and the vocal match of the lead singer these could be a likely match, however it could also be a completely different band that just sounds like The Jetzons this is all just speculation
I'm sorry if anyone have asked this already, but since you said that you reccodred most songs from P3, have you tried reaching out to them to see if they can help you in any way?
@Slymukk it's the capital city do I might kinda make it hard but if you can tell us if the radio station is still around or if it has a specific number or anything help it would help alot

only reason tmms had so many leads was because of its popularity. this song and jmil really arent that popular lostwaves compared with sitn and your eyes. the more popular they are - the quicker they get identified
@nozpherat Not really true because TMMS had already a good lead at the start since 2007 with statues in motion and it's honestly the only lead with the christian brandl's lead who were interesting. What's interesting to me is that you were able to record the entire song yet 16 years later no one has identified it yet. You're from Sweden, right? Do you think this can be from a swedish band? I know the singer doesn't really have a swedish accent but from what I've heard, a lot of people in Sweden can speak english well
Until around Oct-21 (i.e. the first 13 years) not much happened. But at that time the daily views for some reason went from 0-2 to 5-10. That level went on until May last year (-23). Since then the daily views have steadily increased to now be around 100. So it is not until the last few year(s) things have started to happen! Yes, it could be a Swedish band even though the singer don't have a typical accent. This has been discussed in another comment thread.
hey! i was wondering, could you post the entire radio broadcast that you recorded? im finding the release dates of songs in the description, and a lot of titles and artist names seem to be misspelled, and i cant find any references of their names if theyre misspelled. thank you!
Hi, thanks for your comment. Yes there were some misspellings on the sleeve but I have now gone through the titles in the description and done some corrections. I think the voice is very similar to Bob Geldof's voice. Perhaps this is an unreleased song by his band, The Boomtown Rats, or the vocals just have a similar pitch as the Irishman
Ironic lyrics for your mysterious, unidentified track.
Sounds so much like the gallery
If only they were a ska punk band
It’s likely that this is an unreleased demo, so we must contact some radio stations. Do you know which radio it could’ve been? As in which ones you used?
It's swedish radio, there are informations in the description.
@ I know, I meant as in which Swedish stations he would frequently listen to
Possible lead?
The jetzons?! ICE CAP ZONE REFERENCE?!!,,!!?!?!?!?
@@fazbeerbackagain yeah they performed the ice cap zone song
Forgive and Forget (1990) by Richard Madariaga, Dennis Koire, & Julie Palasco
Edit: It's not it, the song was from radio
Actually maybe not. You did say it was around 1980
Just delete this comment...
@@vcc947 why?
@@professionalidiotig because how could this be on the radio in the 80s if it was made in the 90s. I would delete it.
@@nickd8016 this is an old comment, so I had no idea at the time but, I'll edit it
He kinda sounds like the singer from the "now you're doin' the sponge" song from the Spongebob prom episode
Possible name: “Forgive and Forget”
great song
16y...??? Damn. I had no idea the search was this old.
Nothing really happened during the first 14,5 of them...
I'm sorry if anyone have asked this already, but since you said that you reccodred most songs from P3, have you tried reaching out to them to see if they can help you in any way?
Well, at least I asked Kjell Alinge, Stefan Wermelin and Kaj Kindvall about it long ago . No one had a clue.
@@SlymukkThis could be a Sublime demo. Nevermind they are from '88
@@SlymukkThis is definetly a song by the beat. Active years line up. They are a rock, ska, latin, and jazz band from Britain. Probably a demo.
Could you reupload this? RUclips might of corrupted the audio due to the video being uploaded in 2008.
rock afire explosion vibe
Hi Slymukk ¿if you can provide what city in Sweden this was recorded in? ¡would help alot!
Stockholm
@Slymukk ¡¡thanks this will help alot!!
@Slymukk it's the capital city do I might kinda make it hard but if you can tell us if the radio station is still around or if it has a specific number or anything help it would help alot
We need found 15 years flicking old with speed of lostwave founding this be in this week
"forgive and forget"
La canción es muy buena y no se siente esa "aura" de horror o misterio que la mayoría de canciones perdidas tienen, al menos agradezco por ello y ojalá la encuentren pronto.
It’s a great song, I also wanna know!
For guys who can’t go to the desc, this is it:
Recorded to cassette tape from Swedish radio back in the days when that was the way to catch new music. According to notes on the tape sleeve I recorded it Apr 5 1980.
The other songs on the tape are:
Nail in my heart - Squeeze
Fall - Psychedelic furs
I’m in love - Crucks
King - UB40
Hello I’m your heart - Bette Bright
Happy house - Siouxie and the Banshees
Bionic Man - Fabolous poodles
? (the mysterious song)
You treated me wrong - Maywood
Deceives the eye Madness
You’ll always find me in the kitchen at parties - Jona Lewi
The talk of the town - Pretenders
A song from under floorboards - Magazine
Steel away - Robbie Dupree
Hemma hela dan - Nektaris
Stupifaction - Graham Parker
I’m alive - ELO
No doubt about it - Hot Chocolate
The shape I’m in - Jo Jo Zep and the Falcons
Restless Heart - Southside Johnny
Chadez - Suicide
Hope and glory - Clyde Langer
Hold on - Carolyn Mas
There there my dear - Dexies midnight runners
Everything works if you let it - Cheap Trick
Thanks for your interest in this pretty obscure matter. 🙂
Did you change the title of this video? I remember it originally was "unknown artist - unknown song" or something like that.
Yes, that is correct.
@@SlymukkThis song sounds a bit like the beat.
This goes hard
Wow, 15 years!
Sounds like The Boomtown Rats. Voice sounds a lot like Bob Geldof.
1:50 is that TOM PETTY?!
guys, is this a heartbreakers deepcut??
😁
Sadly he died :(
He still active and waiting
Yes...but not actively waiting.🙂
If FEX was found, we deffinetly can find this one
To be honest, I think these types of songs without good lead like Forgive Forget, Wait Forever, Just Make It Louder are harder to find than TMMS
only reason tmms had so many leads was because of its popularity. this song and jmil really arent that popular lostwaves compared with sitn and your eyes. the more popular they are - the quicker they get identified
@nozpherat
Not really true because TMMS had already a good lead at the start since 2007 with statues in motion and it's honestly the only lead with the christian brandl's lead who were interesting.
FEX was found after years though.
Even if just make it louder and forgive forget were as popular as TMMS, I really think TMMS would have been found before them.
At the start I thought it was the beatles
Try to think,do you remember an announcer saying anything about the song, or its name
Do you have the full tape or at least a segment before and after this? Like anything with the radio guys voice
Sorry, but there is not a single syllable between the tracks. That was also the goal when doing recording from radio - no babbling!
@@Slymukk good point I should have thought of that lol
Sounds cool
Live in the city streets no more (no more)
Well after 20 years my life’s a bore (a bore!)
My body’s shaking and I just want to scream (I’ll scream!)
Good life in the city is just a dream (a dream)
(I said…) Ohhh… whoa whoa whoa
I said I’m talking bout-
You give, forgive, you get and forget (I said) (x4)
Whoa… (whoa…)
I used to make you rain but now I know (I know)
You wouldn’t give up you wouldn’t let me go (let me go!)
And now my best friend’s girl, she is a bore (a bore)
You city folk [?] so cold yeah!
I said…
Oh, whoa…
I said I’m talking about-
You give, forgive, you get and forget (I said) (x4)
Have a smore and forget about your life (well I tried now kid)
It doesn’t matter together she is nice, well too many [?]
Hey you, I got nothing here for you
you both like forgetting
Yeah I know, I used to like her too
But no more!
I see, if she died as well as your girlfriend(?) (your girlfriend!)
In my eyes all spending girl yeah(?)
Well I know good lie (that’s a lie)
Shining brighter you’ll see our life yeah!
I said oh, whoa
I said I’m talking about
You give, forgive, you get and forget (I said) (x2)
I said you live you die but what do you get?
I don't hear a "well" in the second line of first verse, in the chorus, it's not "Cold" but "Oh" i think
In the second verse, I think the first line "I used to hate you baby but now I know"
The second line is "You wouldn't give up, you wouldn't let me go"
@ I do realize already about that but I forgot to edit the comment.
@@SlymukkIt sounds like Alabama or a similar band
Why Lost Waves have to be such bops? Not complaining, tho
hey! i was wondering, could you post the entire radio broadcast that you recorded? im finding the release dates of songs in the description, and a lot of titles and artist names seem to be misspelled, and i cant find any references of their names if theyre misspelled. thank you!
Hi, thanks for your comment. Yes there were some misspellings on the sleeve but I have now gone through the titles in the description and done some corrections.
Besides, the tape content is not from one single radio broadcast. The songs were recorded one by one, from different radio shows and different days.
@@Slymukkokay. thank you so much for helping, and i appreciate the corrections. again, (optional) you might want to record all the recordings that you have of these songs so i can confirm if they are the correct songs. thank you!
@@Slymukkupdate, pretty much all of the songs recorded that were broadcasted were released in 1980, so i estimate this one to be from 1980 too.
Man, this sounds familiar!
We got any updates on that National Library of Sweden lead?
ruled out sadly
oooo this is a nice song.
I wonder why these unknown songs come from non english speaking countries... The same thing happens with Trip to Rio... That is even more mysterious...
It gives vibes of australian crawl
sad that this song is Unknown:(
Lots of Aussie recognising it (me included). Think there’s something there
