@@holyflame2 Arcades died during the PS1 era where you could have near arcade perfect ports in the home of the new 3D generation of games. Arcades used to be the next gen looking games compared to home systems. When it went to 3D the arcades and cabs became too gimmicky and expensive. So it was a mass of House of the Dead style shooting, 3D driving, and fighting games, with silly skiing/gimmick games. Only the fighting games had the simple joystick type. The others were expensive cabinets and there were so many of the same genres being released it was hard to recoupe the money spent on the cab

I love playing the games Scott has there, I've been going there for years now. One cool thing about the Journey game is once you collect all the band members instruments, they play a mini concert from a cassette in the machine. That too is a level because you play a bouncer trying to keep the crowd away from the band if not the crowd rushes the stage and you start over but on a higher difficulty.

Love this video but I must correct one thing: E.T. (among dozens of other titles) were dumped into the Alamogordo landfill because Atari didn’t want to pay for the storage warehouse anymore. So they dumped about 125,000 cartridges. That’s actually a pretty common practice and it wasn’t because E.T. was a failure. Conversely E.T. was one of the best-selling Atari cartridges selling 2.7 million copies. Just doing my part to dispel the myth. :-)

I've known Scott from back when our bands shared the bill at a local club a few times. His band, Scott Leftwich & The Atarians, is still putting out music. They would set their merch booth up and have TVs with Atari sets ready to play, it was a trip how they went all-in on the branding. Years after I gave up playing live, he was kind enough to invite me over to Wieners & Losers and has done so several times. It's a blast, I heavily recommend anyone local in the area get on the email list and book a time to come visit.

The movie ET was in theaters June of 1982, the game debuted December of 1982 to meet the Christmas demand. The programmers for that game had a very tight deadline and they worked 24 hours a day sometimes to get the coding done for that game. However the game was an absolute flop for the Christmas season. The creation of the game ET had such a tight time frame I think the engineers made what they could in the tight time frame they were given.

HEY ATW... IMPRESSIVE !! MOST IMPRESSIVE!! I am pleasantly surprised by the amount of video games this young man has surmassed and restored to their former glory! I felt like I was walking into Golfland arcade around 1982! The first game I see on your walk in was my favorite, "TEMPEST"! I must make a way to stay at this Airbnb no matter what

I have a whole slew of family in the WS / Walkertown area. And yes your hitting the good stuff down there.
I'll hit you up when you're getting into Central Iowa later on...I know of a few cool things.
    Great vid!

Super mega cool collection! I'm of the age that I wasn't able to go to arcades by myself until the '90s, so personally I would love to see games from the 90s. But there are so many amazing games in your collection! So awesome!

You should look into pinball machines and Arcade Claw machines or Coin Pushers.

This reminds me of the pinball machine shows they have at Ag hall in Allentown. But this is an incredible collection of arcade stand ups. The only kind to play. I remember my friends and I spending countless hours at our local 7-11 playing asteroids. Those were the days.

That's really amazing. In the late 80's/early 90's I used to spend a lot of time at a arcade called Van's. That arcade was in a strip mall. Two doors down was a comic book shop. It was heaven for a 10 year old.

That’s awesome! Very cool setup! The bath mats remind me of Punky Brewster’s restaurant from the show.
Back in the early 80’s in Hollywood they had a place called Circus Playhouse, that was somewhat similar to Chuck E Cheese but better, that I would ride my bike to frequently. The only full blown arcade I remember was the Nickelodeon arcade. Then they had some arcade machines at the movie theaters or at the roller rink.
I still have my Atari 800 machine, still works too. Whenever I try and get additional games for it, no one carries them. Christmas 2020, I purchased a Ms. Pac-Man cocktail table. That’s my favorite arcade game. When I finally become a home owner, I want to buy a skee ball machine & Baby Pac-Man pinball machine (if I can find one). Maybe thinking about getting a standup Pac-Man machine or Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles game as well.
I used to always rent Marble Madness from the blockbuster for my NES.
