Wow, I’m a little upset at this one 🤣. Seriously almost every doughnut from krispy was better and yet they lost because of the coffee? I demand a redo.
I’ve never liked Dunkin’s doughnuts. Either to “cakey” or not flavorful enough. However that’s just me. KK just checks all my boxes, flavorful, good presentation, and the dough.
The doughnuts were split evenly though where do you get that idea?

After working for Dunkin I will say their doughnuts are frozen. We just thaw them and frost them 😆 so yeah Krispy kreme has actual fresh made delicious doughnuts.

KK is overrated, too much glaze and not enough dough
@@PolishJezus I actually like that about them. Where I live at least, DD's have too little glaze on them and too much dough (the dough is not even that tasty) where KK's are balanced imo (+ the dough is great). Although if I prioritize the price then I'll settle for DD's, again not sure if it's only where I live but DD's are a lot cheaper than KK's here so there's not much to complain about.
@@PolishJezus I think is a personal preference imo. I like Krispy Kreme better, for instance, because i like the dough they use in their donuts better then other donut places, unless its from say a REALLY good donut shop. Some donut shops put too much dough or just dont cook them right & they give me a stomach ache.

I would want my doughnut place to have good drinks as well as good donuts. I've always wanted to try dipping donuts in coffee but I cant get a genuine experience if I don't like the drinks or if I don't like the donuts
If Krispy Kremes coffee is actually that bad, then that's bad because what if I want coffee and donuts, I can't have that anymore because the coffee is bad. At least Dunkin has both and the coffee may not be amazing but at least it's decent to good

Pizza Hut must have some regional quality then (I'm in KCMO), some of our higher end convenience stores have better in-house pizza than Pizza Hut. I don't think I've seen people willingly order it in years.

Even if the score for the coffee and choco donut went up by a couple of points for Link, KK would've still lost. You forget the Rhett basically agreed with the scoring. Neither one had opposing opinions. Just face it, DD has a more balanced selection, and KK only has it's glaze going for it.

Coffee shouldn't have been included. Nobody goes to Krispy Kreme for coffee, it's just an obligatory menu item. Whereas Dunkin's coffee is literally the main reason people go there, it's their #1 featured item. Might as well compare their breakfast sandwiches while we're at it. Krispy Kreme's non-existent sandwiches get a zero! Dunkin wins!

It wasn't a doughnut taste test, it was a dunkin vs krispy kreme taste test. If krispy kreme had breakfast sandwiches they would have thrown that in too. But they only tested what both places had.

I think for one of these episodes they should mix up the sides. Like dont tell them which side is from which and see if they still prefer one side. Sometimes these episodes just feel like they are siding with their already determined favorite.
That's why I say these ranked tests need to be blind folded, and not told which is which. To keep it as fair and neutral as possible.

Krispy Kreme really does pride themselves on their glaze, a lot of stores have a window where you can see them putting the glaze on all their doughnuts
They do a good job on the visuals, I'll give em that.
It’s actually one of the reasons I don’t care for them over dunkin. They put the glaze on all of their donuts. The glaze is good but it doesn’t compliment other flavors that well imo

Krispy Kreme has always been one of the better mainstream doughnut chains, but nothing beats a small time shop or bakery imo.
Listen if we are talking strictly donuts, Krispy Kreme wins by a mile, but dunkin has some pretty good coffee that is cheaper than starbucks and imo tastes better than starbucks
I feel like the coffee was only included to even give Dunkin a chance (when this wasn't about coffee at all) but I don't think it was expected for link to give KK a 0
Based on the title alone, it was simply a comparison of Krispy Kreme vs. Dunkin, so the coffee was completely fair
And why shouldn't they taste coffee when both establishments offer coffee and coffee is an important part of the menu for most chains that cater to the morning crowd??? Also keep in mint this is not an 'ONLY donuts' taste test but a comparison between Dunkin and KK.
I went to KK for coffee once and it was so bad i couldnt finish it. And I love all types of coffee. Their coffee is wack.

They need to understand that most of these donuts are better heated up especially that chocolate cake donut it easily gets atleast an 8 as a score
The only donut I prefer from Dunkin's is the Boston Cream because it isn't as sugary, but my fave is lemon filled and only KK has the one filled with lemon curd, wish is was still rolled in powdered sugar, but glazed is okay.
Dunkin for coffee. KK for donuts.
The current Dunkin's lemon-filled tastes like it has some kind of lemon-scented cleaner in it, but it USED TO taste more like lemon-meringue-pie lemon. And Dunkin also USED TO have a blueberry-filled, which was like the lemon in format but with blueberry pie filling stuff in the center instead. Those were both such excellent doughnuts that, if I had to choose ONE, I had a VERY hard time deciding between them ... and sometimes would go with a plain cake dunker (with the handle on it).
Incredibly psyched that Rhett gave my favorite doughnut of all time a perfect 10.

As someone from Minnesota who was used to all donuts other than KK for years. Going to Arizona for an original glazed last month was near life altering. Not even in the category of donuts those things are manufactured addiction
The classic plain glazed Krispy Kreme doughnut cannot be beat.

Krispy kreme has meh doughnuts imo. Fr krispy kreme’s doughnuts are too sweet lol, they taste like someone dipped damp bread into a pan of sugar and then added an extra cup of sugar to it after that.

Didn’t they both love the chocolate cake donut on that episode where they rated “every” Krispy Kreme donut.
It's good on its own especially as a break from their typical donut. But no way does it replace the Dunkin one, which is much richer and more chocolatey.

Aside from the coffee from Dunkins some of their other stuff were better than kk, so it's still a win.

As someone who really dislikes coffee, the fact it was such a huge swing and the deciding factor is unacceptable. If you, like me, nullify the coffee round, the score is 67 to 71. For only one item to be The Deciding Factor either way, when the other place has perfect or near perfect offerings on the main product, that is, doughnuts, or donuts if you prefer, is just nonsense.

Very interesting. It seems that the preferable donut (yes, that's how I spell it) place depends on what you're looking for. Want coffee with your donuts? Dunkin' is your place. Want a dozen standard glazed donuts? Krispy Kreme is where it's at. Want a glazed chocolate cake donut? Dunkin'. Want jelly filled? Krispy Kreme.

I’m not sure I’ve ever had a very pleasant experience with donuts from Dunkin. They always seem to be dry and/or stale. Although, I do agree with y’all that Dunkin’s coffee is way better. As a North Carolina boy, Krispy Kreme will always be my go-to!

I have never had a good donut from dunkin. I would also never order the chocolate cake thing though which is apparently the one donut they actually do well.
I don't think I've ever had a bad krispy kreme. Even their new oreo ones that I thought were not great despite my usual love of cookies and cream flavored food, it was still good and fresh, and the glazed or creme filled I usually get are always top notch
well its the closet to my area in new york so I just live with it or only get the breakfast
Unless you live near a central bakery, everything you get from Dunkin is frozen and shipped in, that's why they taste stale.
