Your hair is thicker than a snicker 😍😍😍
🤣🤣🤣
So happy I found your channel! I have been natural 8 years without weave or extensions. I’m Muslim and I cover so it’s an even harder struggle! But because of you my hair has been the best it has ever in my life! Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge and wisdom.
One question:
How often do you go to a professional?
I’m so happy to hear that! Warms my heart. 🥰 I don’t usually go to professionals. My mother lives on the other side of the United States, but I’ll go when I really REALLY want an even cut. Whenever she’s in town I get her to trim it.
Your hair looks so beautiful and healthy 😻!
Aww thank you beautiful!
I love how you explain exactly the steps your are doing . Your hair looks gorgeous 😊💥🙏🏽
It's like you just read my mind and provide me with the content I need 👏🏽😅
Hair goals!! Your hair is beautiful and full. It’s my goal to be where you are in 6months.
🙌🏾👏🏾 Love it!
My goal as well.
Count down to 100k woop woop, your hair is beautiful, thanks for sharing!
AYYYEEEE!! 2021 We’re hitting 100k. Claiming it! 🙌🏾
@@LaToyaEbonyHair Yaaas! It is so beautiful to see how much your channel has grown!
Thank you so much 🥰 It can only be done with your support. ❤️❤️
Beautiful hair!! My hair was uneven on the opposite side. My hair always grows faster in the back on the one particular side. Thank you for sharing your cut experience! Helpful!!
Your hair looks great - nice and healthy! And BTW..I love that you don't have long drawn out intros. No need to apologize for that with me..LOL You get right to the point and I love it!!
Thank you so much for that feedback! ❤️
I love how I just trimmed my hair and this is the first video youtube recommend
Why YT do you like that lol 😂
Beautiful person and beautiful hair. Love your positivity and that’s what I need in my life.
❤️🥰 Thank you for that.
Hey love, your hair is gorgeous! A little advice when chasing with the comb, run the flat iron halfway down the hair then chase with the comb the rest of the way. Imagine ironing a shirt that you haven't stretched out first. By running the flat iron all the way down the hair when the ends aren't completely stretched out, you are essentially ironing bends into the strands. This weakens the ends causing breakage when you comb/brush it.
Looks so healthy. Thanks for the tips!
OMG! I like your positive spirit. Have a happy new year 😘🤗
Aww thank you Rukia! 🥰 Have a wonderful new year!! ❤️
Really enjoyed your video. Beautiful hair. I attempted to trim my type 4 and it was challenging, struggled to get my ends straight. Going to leave great job trimming.
I straighten my hair, but will use your tip to chase it with a rat tail comb to get it straighter to cut where I need to cut.
But I usually have my husband cut my hair with his clippers in a straight line, then go through with the scissors to make it less blunt.
🤔

@@dreadams3207 That's not a bed method you mention. I may have to try it out.

congrats on this new venture! love your videos!
Your hair looks so good! My crown hair is my problem area lately, due to neglect and psoriasis. I recently just trimmed it to ear length and the rest of my hair to my shoulders. It didn't make sense to me to have bra strap length hair everywhere but the crown, and I prefer thick, blunt ends, even on natural hair. I wish I could go to a professional, but I just not brave enough to sit down in somebody's chair right now in a pandemic. I'm excited to start a new healthy hair journey though, nonetheless.
Yes, bouncy natural beautiful hair and lady of course! 😍
No plans to ever blow dry or flatiron my hair and my hair isn’t as dense as yours so I commend you on doing it yourself.
Thank you!
Yeah I know I don't really know how to blow dry very well at all so I've only done it maybe three times in my life and I can't flat iron at all, never even tried but I might be able to use a hot comb if she's recommending that.
Stunning
Nice video
Oh! Lushious lengths! 😮
You’re so gorgeous and I love your personality and hair 🥰
Grrrrrrrrreat vid! 👍🏼Thanks!
Thank you boo! ❤️
I was wondering if you were gonna give us a longer video than yesterday 😆 now onto the video
Yeah, I know it was a tease. I had to re-film when I couldn’t save my footage. Lawd the struggle was real! 😂
Beautiful hair! It's growing so fast. I've be following you since your 2nd big chop! My hair is the same way. It's healthier, longer and shrinks more on the right side; the bang area breaks easily. I also wanted to suggest the Shea Moisture JBCO leave-in conditioner. It's the same line as the edge growth serum/control that you use. I tried the Camille Rose as you suggested but it just didn't moisturize as well as the SM JBCO leave-in. I think you will really like it. I'm even willing to send it to you so you can review it. It's been a game changer for me, especially with twist outs and maintaining the ends of my hair!
Yeah, I like the CR moisturizer, but SM curl enhancing smoothie wins for me. I haven’t tried the leave in though! You don’t have to send it to me 😊 that’s so sweet of you to offer. I’ll write it down brocade I think I just ran out of leave in (or I’m close). Thanks for the tip!!
Your hair is growing honey!!!!
Any suggestions on how to grow your edges? My edges are thin...
Yes! Search my hair regimen playlist. I have a full video on it!
Your hair is so beautiful, you are definitely hair goals for me!😍
Do you watch Deeper Than Hair TV? Kee uses a special dryer technique with a paddle brush, I think it is a Denman one, to make the hair very straight before flat ironing it. I think it would make the chasing method much easier, it just looks more smoother and polished with the brush. I know you weren't looking for the bone straight look but you probably wouldn't have had to even use a flat iron. I love your videos by the way, you have been helping me a lot.💖
Oooo thank you for the suggestion!!
The 3-1 Revlon Blowdryer is the only way I can blowdry my hair without it taking 8hrs. I got it down to 3hrs now. One day maybe I can get it down to 2 hrs 🥴
Wow my hair is weaker and thinner on the same side as yours, the same length, and the same curl pattern. I think I have a little more shrinkage than you, but it’s so nice to watch someone who’s so close to a hair twin 😊
Great video on flat ironing, trimming and the benefits of using the chase method! Your hair is gorgeous. I kept waiting for you to give us a 360 view, so we could see how your hair falls in the back. Next time...
Yes! I’ll show it in Monday’s video. I accidentally cut it out 🤦🏾♀️
@@LaToyaEbonyHair I will be on the lookout for the video. Thanks for your response.
Great hair trimming video! Your hair is growing! I am left handed and I sleep more on the left side. That side isn’t as thick. I think that may have something to do with it. It’s a theory.
My partner has very thick 4c hair with lots of healthy shrinkage..I transitioned her hair and big chopped a year ago. We have a good routine and we haven’t used any heat at all since we chopped last December 2019! I’m really scared to use it and damaging her hair, as it’s got longer and thicker it’s been harder to put into protective styles when wet so I now put it in single braids or cornrows to stretch it unless it’s dry then style it a day or two later . I really can’t tell if her ends need trimming or how to do it without blowing it out as she doesn’t want to use heat either or believe she needs a trim but we’ve only dusted the ends very occasionally over this year never a trim, all salons are closed in the UK. Any suggestions or tips on this? Her hair is extremely healthy but I’m wondering if it needs a trim. Your videos always inspire me and give me lots of knowledge xxx

Haha!! ❤️❤️
I wish you did a mini length check... It looks like it's really grown since you did a length check with your hubby!
Next video!!
I have a nipple goal too. But without a bra. 😂
Your hair has grown so much and your makeup looks amazing.
It’s the “without a bra” for me! 🙌🏾😂
How long did it take from start to finish? Looks like a good workout!
Like 2 hours. Not including the intense pampering routine I did before blowing it out. Sometimes I treat myself 😊
Your hair is such a beautiful 😍 sight♥️♥️♥️♥️💯💯💯💯💯
Ur hair 🥰
My stylist has to cut my hair dry and curly. I have four different shrinkage levels, and she said if it's cut straighten it would be a mess when wearing it in its natural state (which I do nearly all time).
My crown shrinks 90%, right side around 75%, left side around 50%, then I have a little section in the front left that is straight (not damaged) that shrinks around 30%...ugh! Mess!
So I guess cutting my own hair is a no go? I wish I could! My sister cuts hers all the time (she's on texture all the way around)..jealous..
P.S - do you know you have your location on for this video. It says you are in LA. Not sure if you wanted that to be. People can be crazy, dont want you to get stalked!
I can understand how difficult that would be! I’d probably let the professionals handle your cuts if you can. My mother would tell you that (cosmetologist). Yes, I’m in LA. It’s pretty known (I’m an actress). Thanks for looking out!
I want to know if this trim has made wash days any easier, like with detangling and stuff
YES! Trimming always helps speed up detangling for me.
I just shaved all my hair off. 😊
😆 THATS AMAZING!! Congratulations!! 🎉
@@LaToyaEbonyHair thanks!
THIS IS SO WONDERFUL!!! I love how we (black women) now feel so comfortable to explore our natural hair any way we want to!!!! I think covid really just released us all from the burden of living up to a standard that was pushed upon us (long straight hair).
I did mines a year ago I currently have braids in for 2 months will be going to the salon in February to get a trim
Hey💗💗if I can't get my ends straight when i blow dry does that mean i need a trim?
Not necessarily. Try the chasing method I showed you.
Love your hair and my question is how would a type 4 natural prevent fairy knots in their hair ?
I don’t think you can fully prevent them. Coily hair curls on itself. Keeping it stretched does help though!
@@LaToyaEbonyHair Thanks for the advice 😁
The right side of my hair seems to retain more length. I’ve been trimming mine in it’s natural state because we can’t go to hair salons in Los Angeles yet but I do have hair scissors.
Nice!! Yeah, I think it’s pretty common to have a side or section of hair grow faster or retain more length. 😊
Is it okay to flatiron natural hair right after cutting it shorter from armpit length? Blessings~
Of course. If your hair is healthy and you use a heat protectant, go for it. Just take care not to set the heat too high.
Oh no did you have to trim that much! I don't think you need to go to the beauty shop for more to be trimmed off! :-) wish you had turned around to show us the back lengthwise. It is so pretty and thick!
You know what? I’m gonna show my length in the next video. Thank you for the reminder! ❤️
I sleep on my left side the most and that’s the side of my hair that gives me the most problems and is shorter than the right. The front on my hair either grows faster or doesn’t get as much damage because the texture is a little looser so it’s longer than the back and I’m always trying to even things out.
I have slept on my left side for years but during lockdown I've been trying to practice sleeping on my back however did it ever occur to you that left side damage could be due from the UV rays coming into your car if you are the driver. Even my eye appears smaller on the left side and sometimes I think it's because I spent more on that side when the sun comes through that window. I also get sun spots on the left side so I know the UV rays can affect your hair as well. I just wonder?
@@sable7114 Never thought of that. I don’t really drive often and the sun isn’t up when I do leave for work and it’s dark when I coming back home. It’s a long winter here up north. The texture on my left is also more coarse. That’s mainly what I attributed it to.
@@JamCanGurl i think its just natural. My crown is coarser and always tangled and dry. I don't tie up my hair or anything. Some sections of hair are just coarser or looser.
COME THROUGH, ZOE!! :-)
Come thru ZOE 🎉🎉🎉😆
👍🏾❤️
LaToya must know I'm in dire need of a trim. I even decided to blow dry my hair for better results. I don't own bumpers anymore, though. So a blow out will have to suffice.
Your hair is so long and beautiful. You will be nipple length comfortably in no time.
YAAASSS!!! I want it for 2021 🙏🏾😆
She's very lucky her nipples aren't going south like mine oh, you know the closer you get to them the farther away they get making it almost impossible to ever reach nipple length.
@@sable7114 lol stop it girl! 🤣😖 Sad but true for many women ugh better to say bra strap length at least that can't run away from you !
@@sable7114 😂😂 omg!
my left side is so much shorter and thinner than my right
I hate trims. I had my last trim right before the shut down
I’m second :)
🙌🏾 Thanks for coming!!
How did you blow-dry? I think those balls at the end are just your dried coils due to not getting stretched and separated from the blow dry. Just my opinion, but a proper blowout can clearly show where the thinning ends. It's just not optimal to be detangling at the flat iron step. And I think there is too much product on the hair, just going by the lack of movement and stiffness. It's like, either you still had residual product left after your wash or you applied too much heat protectant.
I'm just saying how I feel I know you don't do this often. And truly I think your hair is good condition. However type 4 hair really doesn't need to be flat ironed for a trim
Not sure she had the heat up very high. She wasn't going for bone straight. Just my thoughts. My hair looks like that after a blow dry with revair. Haven't used anything else in years so don't know what a traditional would do for me.
Hey thanks for commenting! I wasn’t really going for bone straight and I was very light handed on the products - just a heat protectant blow dry cream and a serum this time. Originally I wasn’t going to flat iron, but I changed my mind when I decided to trim my hair. My hair reverts really fast and gets stiff as a result. It’s also very dry because I havent used a good moisturizer yet. Thanks for the suggestions!
@@Doc_McStuffins how do you like that revair dryer. Have you noticed any damage?
@@sable7114 I like it a lot. I haven't noticed any damage that I can attribute to the revair itself, but I think the process is damaging for me. I have thin strands and thick density. My hair goes snap, crackle, pop with any kind of manipulation, which is why I like the revair. But when I use it, it's the only time I brush to detangle and I feel like I lose a lot of hair. I also brush each piece again midway through the drying process (gets so slick that way!), so it's just a lot of brushing. My hair isn't made for that.
But there's virtually no hair in the machine when I'm done. I prob used it once every 4-5 weeks for the last year. No heat damage at all. My mid back length hair still shrinks to my ears lol and is still cloud like. I do use a protectant. Not sure it does much. It's the Sheamoisture JBCO cream.
I temporarily stopped using it in Oct for Efficiently Natural's challenge. My ends thank me. While the revair itself isn't problematic, we don't care for brushes. 😑
@@LaToyaEbonyHair thanks for replying! i really wish i saw the end to end process because it's been gnawing on my brain for a while. because to go for the flat iron means that your putting concentrated heat on the hair which poses a greater risk than a blowdryer.
I know that to get it straight it needs to be suuuuper clean, like alll the way clean. Even using a deep conditioner would send me back to the shampoo bowl because it may deposit to much of the emollient ingredients.
For the next trim could you show it with a stylist guiding you like last time? I would be very disheartened to feel like i have to flat iron any time i want an even cut
Wow no greys
