Oddly enough, I thought this showcase was a lot better than last year's. May not be as many huge heavy hitters, but the overall quality seems higher for each game.
Indies the clear winner at SGF. Great to see so much variety in style and gameplay. On the whole too much CG and not enough gameplay for the rest of the show.

Either way, SGF cannot be E3 and it's wrong to have the same level of expectations for it. Keighley is still the only individual who at least tries to do something and for what it's worth, there's always a handful of interesting looking games to add to the pile, it's just not Sony E3 2015-like, but it can't possibly ever be that.

Just a bit of correction, its been clarified that smaller devs that were reach out and also the Big 3 (Sony, MS, Nintendo) were offered free slots for them to showcase their games. The paid ones are really from other 3rd party publishers and developers that WANT to showcase their games on there.

Shout out to easy Allie’s for just loving games. They don’t seem to be plastic box warriors. I saw plenary of cool Looking games at this showcase and I don’t understand why it’s getting all the hate. Indies are vital and special to the industry and they really shined brightly in this showcase. Not every game needs to be 200 million dollar souls like.

Rewatching this for the Allies' reactions. I actually think the first half is pretty good, but the second half drags with the skits. Also, the ads that are thrown in-between the standard reveals/updates are just too much. You're already marketing games, you don't need to throw even more commercials in there. Plenty of interesting games here and I appreciate the focus on lifting up indies, but Keighley just doesn't understand how to pace a show properly.

I played Genshin for a looong time. During that time I always was excited for the Hoyoverse Part of Geoff's shows. But after quitting Genshin (and stopping playing predatory and tedious Gacha Games) I would always use the Hoyoverse slot for a break.
That’s because stuff like the Hoyoverse and other live service game trailers aren’t doing anything to appeal to people who aren’t already fans Why is a robot party member a big deal? Why should I get invested in a gacha live service game because there’s a robot in it now? They’re not doing it as a slight, it’s just not interesting to people who haven’t played it
