    Brett Yormark is the best thing to happen to the Big 12. He brought a business mindset to the league. If he was here 10 years ago, the Big 12 wouldn't be where it is now.

      I would have Yormark as the head commissioner and Aresco as assistant commissioner. Because both men are not your traditional commissioners in sports and have extensive knowledge and experience in media relations and marketing and communications along with entertainment industry executives experience as well. They would both make sure no colleges or conferences would be hosed due to not being a blue blood or any crap about viewership and about production and performance yielding results.

    This conference definitely needs a name change for many reasons.
    1. There are not 12 teams and don't change it to the big 16.
    2. You can make money with a company that could care about the future of this conference.
    3. You want to separate yourself from Oklahoma and texas. They dominated the big 12. You want nothing to do with that.

      One thing that Yormark did was to get the TV deal done. That TV deal put the nail in the coffin for the Pac 12. He also is bringing actual leadership to the Big 12. He's doing a great job selling the brand and finding other sources of revenue. The prior Big 12 commissioner sat on his hands up until UT and OU left. Yormark has done more in 2 years than Bob ever did.

    I'm not taking this guy seriously. What's going to be the genius plan when 5, 10, and 15 years from now the ACC, Big 10 & SEC are still considered better conferences? Why would I sell ownership of my product when it's not going to put me ahead of my competitors. He needs to be trying to figure out a plan to have more successful athletic programs. If money could've bought success Texas and Texas A&M would have been the cfp every other year for the past 15 years. No, he needs to get these ADs to take HC hires more seriously and start developing their own coaching talent with long term assistant contracts. Anything besides this silly idea that money from private investors is going to kickstart some run of financial success.

      It's always astonishing to me when people that know nothing about the Big 12 say "The Big 12 is the worst". No matter the conference we can all agree football is vastly superior to all other sports in revenue, 2nd by basketball. It's not up to debate that the Big 12 and ACC are the best basketball conferences, merely which one is the best. The college landscape is changing, and is vastly different than it was 2 decades ago, and will continue to change.
      Here is an example of recent history, in football, for the Big 12 against the other P5 conferences in head to heads over the last 5 years. I'm including the Pac 12 numerics, because you don't try to rewrite history.
      Big 12 vs. ACC. 10-6
      Big 12 vs. Big 10. 6-7
      Big 12 vs. SEC. 10-11
      Big 12 vs Pac 12. 12-7
      Overall record 38-31.
      The Big 12 was 1 loss away from being. 500 against the SEC and Big 10, with winning records over the Pac and ACC, and winning record against all P5 head to heads combined.
      Here is a list of Bowl wins over the last 5 years for each conference.
      ACC. 21-28
      Big Ten. 26-20
      SEC 30-22
      Pac 12 17-23
      Big 12 22-13
      The SEC and Big 12 had the best win to loss ratios out of all P5 conferences.
      College football conferences are more than the top tier teams in recent history that dominate the national title races in Georgia, Alabama, Michigan, Ohio State, and Clemson. Just because these teams constantly prove they are the football elites, doesn't mean the rest of their conferences are. Educate yourselves, don't be sheep and take the lazy way out.

  • @artycat0811
    @artycat0811 2 месяца назад +7

    LMAO....we'll be 1st with the teams the B10 and SEC didn’t even want. It's incredibly hard for the B12 and ACC to accept reality....you're not invited to the P64 party. I hope the "G5" refuses to add these two conferences in a few years when they're left on the outside looking in, stunned once again.

    • @eers2you
      @eers2you 2 месяца назад +6

      Though money matters, fans will drive success. If too many universities are left out, the drop off of viewership would be problematic. NFL kneelers....the drop off of fan viewership was such that coaches were pressed to start fining players for kneeling. Pushing the fans to forget their home teams for a mega conference....sorry but people will leave the TVs and stands.

    • @Goeers206
      @Goeers206 2 месяца назад +3

      I'd be willing to bet your SEC or Big 10 team you root for is a middling or bottom feeder team that hangs onto either Georgia, Alabama, Michigan, or Ohio State's coattails for dear life. Have you not noticed that since the portal changes and NIL over the past 5 years that the Big 12 is on the rise?
      Big 12 vs Big 10. 6-7
      Big 12 vs SEC. 10-11
      You can't even attempt to try to say the Big 10 or SEC are close to the Big 12 in basketball. You going to go out on a limb and say that the SEC and Big 10 each only winning heads to heads by 1 game in 5 years means they are vastly superior? If so, it shows how clueless you are.
      The game isn't the same as it was, and the recent changes show that it doesn't matter what your media contract gives you. The portal and mainly NIL have greatly bridged the gap. The P2 need to wake up.

    • @jrfjosh
      @jrfjosh 2 месяца назад +1

      @@artycat0811 The transfer portal and NIL and the soon to be revenue sharing is leveling the playing field. A really good player that might sit the bench at Alabama or Ohio State for the first 2 years in the past can now go to a different school and be a star and make bank and play immediately. Even Saban couldn’t win as much in the current and future college football setup. He used to fill his stable at every position with tons of talent because there wasn’t anything drawing those players elsewhere. Now that talent can make $$$ elsewhere and show their skills off while doing it.

    How come you guys don’t talk football? I read & saw the big 12s recruiting went down after Texas & Oklahoma left. Most good players 3,4,5 stars didn’t apply for big 12 schools. Yes it’s true. because the big 12 is now having trouble getting 3 star players to play for the big 12 teams. I read what I saw. You have % and ratings of the players applying for SEC schools & Big10 schools & the ACC schools it’s way higher too. They have so many players applying that they can’t take them all that they are now applying for the not so successful bottom SEC, Big10 & ACC teams. I can’t wait til the season starts. I looked it up & read about it. If you & the big12 fans base can lie about BS they can look up & read actual facts about what’s happening. The transfer portal can only take you so far.
