    In a few weeks it will be 30 years since that tragic disaster, but the pain in my soul has not gone away...

    When the video camera films the Estonia name, I always find that eerie and very haunting.

      Yes it had two cpp propellers from KaMeWa

    Are there bodies shown? Just out of scientific curiosity because the conditions for preservation are optimal down there. A friend of mine, a coroner, said that.

      @kryrek 2 года назад +2

      I'm not sure about this video but despite conditions after half a year, maybe a year, there was probably nothing more than bones left because of fishes and natural body decomposition. In a later video, which was taken about three months after the tragedy, some of the corpses already looked like floating jelly.

      @@kryrek Yeah, in german it‘s called „Wachshaut“ I guess, when the tissue starts dissolving. Crazy how as soon as you die nature gets a hold of you. I couldn‘t do recovery diving, would‘ve nightmares from bumping into dead children. But someone has to do the job and they have my utmost respect. And with all honesty there‘s something fascinating about such catastrophes, I always try to imagine myself in their shoes. What the last minutes would have been like etc. And who knows maybe we will also suffer a catastrophic death but don‘t know it yet. So living in the present just becomes more attractive tbh ^^

      @@nordicprince6186 No way this was on RUclips. That‘s honestly messed up. I don‘t want to imagine what such pictures make with a young person that can‘t fully understand the context.

      @@mrkipling2201 They used mattresses and also stuff like blankets and stools pallets to secure the openings to the bow ramps sides. The mattress states that the bow ramp never was open during the disaster. Water most likely came from some where else.

      @@estoniadisasterseries6082 - no, the more bouyant items would have got wedged into cracks or gaps, as the boat was sinking, finally. the force of moving water in those circumstances would be high and would apply a force pushing things into cracks where water was moving through, I think.
