    I feel like the guard need to have square or hexagon shaped shields instead of round

    With regards to AI art, it depends on what the AI is trained on. I think the main objections you'll see online is if the AI is trained on other artists' works, and it opens you up to potential legal issues down the line. The alternative is to train your AI on your own art, which will probably be accepted better by the community, and will end up giving a more uniform looking output anyway. The Corridor Digital guys did something like this for their Anime Paper, Scissors, Rock 2 video, and it seems fairly promising. Judging by some of the stuff you've shown already, that method may work out quite nicely.

    I don't want to rush them too much, but damn: seeing gameplay like this makes me want EA or a multi-player demo. Still, i would rather they not be rushed.

      A multiplayer demo would be so cool! The coding for multiplayer takes a long time so it’s unlikely a multiplayer demo will be ready for the Kickstarter. That would be amazing. There should be a playable mission. The coding for the mission will take a long time and a lot of work. Imagine all that it takes for multiplayer! But, I can’t wait either.     Will we be able to change the zoom level on which the strategic icon will be visibile?
    For my personal taste I prefer to have them only visible when I'm zoomed far out - they absolutely break immersion up close

    I'm pretty sure you can get way over one million when you go for kickstarter. You have the good game, You'll have a demo to offer . PA did not have such stuff to offer and they raised a lot. There's no reason you can't succeed the same way. Because what you offer here, all the RTS comminity has been waiting for it since ages, and it's finally coming.

    I think it would be okay for AI Art to be used as a sort of placeholder for when the game first launches, but then once the game is up and running and more time and resources can be spent on things outside of gameplay, etc, you could then see if you could match or surpass the AI art with human made art

      It’s unlikely they will be able to get cutscenes in after the game is out, because it’s a lot of work and will cost a lot of money. Maybe, they’ll do that. It’s a good idea. But, they wouldn’t have cutscenes without AI at the moment. Thank you for your opinion!

    I am 100% in favor of bigger t5's if it is feasible from a pathfinding standpoint.
    As for A.I. art, I have no problem as long as it isn't obviously A.I., like when someone ends up with two knees or 6 fingers on one hand. If the art looks good in the end I don't see any issue with it being A.I. generated.

    The arty style looks sooooo amazing!!! I wonder do buildings upgrade themselves over tiers or do they come new?

      Some can be upgraded to next tiers, like all factories, radars/sonars, shields, alloy extractor, possibly Transmitters, tech centers(you first build t2 and then upgrade it to t3), Chosen t2 power generator to t3(exception feature - other can not), and likely some other stuff I forgit/don't know about.
      They don't get upgraded by themselves - you still have to spend resources on it if this is what you are asking.

      @@StealSpeaks They are called T2 Tech Air/Land/Naval buildings, not T2 tech buildings - I don't think any of those buildings would need the tech structure to be upgraded, just as in supcom FA. You need those tech centers to build next tiers of units, and engineers that can build some of those upgradable T2 buildings in first place.
      Edit: Unless you were told so by devs, which I don't know.

    39:52 But then.... how is it gonna be countered by SMDs? There is no physical object to be over the enemy, and I don't think physical munition used for Guard SMD could do anything to whatever destructive thing is sent on them

      It is sad to hear Bread left, but he had to move on to bigger opportunities that would advance his career. I believe they’re still negotiating on whether Bread will continue with the EDA faction.

    Sorry guys but AI art sucks shit. Sins of a Solar Empire 2 uses it for portraits and icons and it just looks awful and in the latter case, hard to read. And that's not even going into the ethical and legal implications. I'd even prefer good looking, static, handrawn portraits over bad looking cutscenes, I mean look at how distracting that was in Homeworld 3!
    If nothing else I think you should wait until after the KS campaign before making a decision. Other than that the game looks sick! I especially love the Guard's design.

      Other games used AI art already and they don't look good? That's something the developers need to look at before making a decision. Maybe they could hire artists to do what they want with the AI art. So we shall see what the devs do! Thank you for watching and commenting!

      @@StealSpeaks If devs are to hire a proper artist, they may may as well hire a normal one anyway - good ones can push out proper images in matters of few hours, which shouldn't be much if they go with mentioned idea of doing it pre-mission in form of comics page

    Gameplay gameplay gameplay! 99.9% will close up only once! How many clicks to order a unit a specific task? BAR is quite nice in that regard.

      There will be gameplay in the future! Once I get this mode, I will take you all on a tour of the units and get a nice close up for each of them!
      I don’t think there are too many clicks for each task. I think it’s reasonable!
      I am sure the devs are looking at other games and how they control!

    Ok, after thinking for some hours on question about AI, I think I got soem opinion:
    Pragmatic side - I am yet to see AI being able to spit out consistent images/characters that make all sense between each other in different position/scenarios that make sense. If devs somehow figure it out/work around - sure.
    Moral side - just straight up fuck AI "art". It is a tool created by stealing work of all artists from the internet that is meant to take out all creativity from the internet for profit and trash it with slop that is already everywhere now. And even regardless of that, AI "art" is a tech bubble that will burst quite soon anyway - the only reason why it is even cheap and competitive in uses like this is it's incredibly low cost, which only exists because companies are burning through billions running such AI for a loss to try and gather consumer base, while they are trying to increase quality. But fun thing is that quality is gonna likely flatline very soon, since they are running out of fresh data to scrape from the internet, while also trashing it with own AI slop that get fed back into the system.
    Technology is just not here yet and won't be for quite a while. The best thing this may ever be used in relation to genuine art is filling out some unimportant background space and stuff, which I am all fine with.

      @@volodymyr_budii Your concerns are completely understandable. I’m sure there are some AI art companies that do make consistent art if you feed the previous AI art you made into it.
      Also, the devs would probably tweak things using photoshop to make it work.

      The Guard tend to have lots of legs. The choice to have legs like that allow for faction visual diversity. They look robotic and not exactly like spiders, so that’s not a bad thing. People who don’t like spiders might be put off, but I think it’s a super cool design!

      Seems like you didn't hear about EDA T4 Harvester, which is a huge industrial crusher X mobile factory, that crushes and immediately reclaims everything in its path. Or that T4 Chosen bot that was mentioned to get his lower half changed, will have tripple layer shield, that allows it to effectively cycle through them during combat.
      I am sure that devs will get to adding more of interesting stuff when they get to it - so far they are busy making sure the most important stuff works.
      Maybe you also have some nice ideas on what so more creative to add onto them?

      They have a super creative unit we call Captain Crunch. I’m sure that’s not its real name, but it eats the enemy units! It’s an EDA unit.
