      This is indeed perhaps the most comprehensive breakdown and demonstration of accurate Persian armour and how it would be worn by warriors, right down to the small details such as the victory shirt worn underneath.

    If i comparing it with European heavy armour it became less, also i mirror protect stomach but not fully chest, chest is very important side

      European battle armor were also mostly made of mail armor and selected plate armor as Persian armor and other Asian armor sets. What most people mix up is battle armor as this one and duel armor such as fullplate made for duels and deeds of arms. If you visit European museums and look for war armor I mean armor used for battlefields such as the Palace Armoury of Malta (you can check it on this channel) you see that European helmets kept the face open. Additionally they use mail armor with combinations of plates. These were armor sets used by St. John Order and the European knights involved in that. Most European plate armor were used for duels and deeds of arms and not the battlefield. If you read the cursader period manuscript of "An Arab-Syrian gentleman and warrior in the period of the crusades : memoirs of Usamah Ibn-Munqidh", Usama describes how many European knights basically feinted on the battlefield due to dehydration and fatigue. Note that again they were using mail armor with integrated plates. So we should always make this distinction. What we see here is a battlefield armor used by heavy cavalry and some heavy infantry units. The armor here with its gambeson and riveted armor protects you very well and allow you to move and not die of dehydration. Noone can be in the field ina full plate for hours you basically die of heat and sweating and losing water.

      @@RazmafzarTV now what's your conception about mirror breast plate, as I see it doesn't cover whole breast but it's cover under chest to stomach.

      For extended campaigns definitely yes

      It is not my opinion, it is what it is written in battlefield accounts. A gambeson and riveted mail provide enough protection. Chahr Ayne orginally was made to stop heavy lance and spear thrusts and later even to stop bullets from arquebus and musket shots.

    What would you say the main advantages and disadvantages of this armour are?

    • @RazmafzarTV
      @RazmafzarTV  22 дня назад +2

      It is a heavy armor. On horseback, you can easily clear enemy lines once you ride in formation. On foot, at least for short-term engagements, you can rout less armored opponents. The problem of dehydration and fatique remains and that is the disadvantage of course. You need to be physically strong and very fit to fight in such an armor.
