This is EXACTLY what i needed to see. Thank you!!
Hope to see a homekey version in the future
How long will the battery last?
It takes a long time to connect to the lock when I am outside. Sometimes it exceeds 1 minute. The lock is close to the modem, the wifi signal quality seems strong. What could be the reason for this?
so in order to control the lock remotely, bridge is required, right? Otherwise will work only locally via Bluetooth or something.

10:14 "simply rotate one, two, three, four, five" times to unlock door. Do you find that convenient ? My door only needs less than half turn.
Hi thanks for the video. Very helpful. One question if electricty and wifi are down, can you still use a physical key. Many thanks
Physical key from outside works even if no electricity. If wifi down, this effects on smart features only
My door won’t unlock if the key is inserted from inside so this is not for me
Ugh i'm so disappointed, when i'm outside my apartment door does not unlock after turning the key inside, i must put the a key in from the outside. I thought i found a smartlock that doesn't require me to change the door parts.
Wondering if the fully unlocked position of the lock is enough when I dont have a door with the knob on the outside, so the main opening mechanism is overrotating the key unlocked position.
yes it does.
@@jayjakeI came to the comments specifically for this. Thank you!!
It’s cool but I wonder why don’t they sell an adapter for existing knob cylinder?
Nice one. Have a Yale locks for a year now, and love the google assistant integration and Clean look 👌
yes also one of the reasons why i got it :)
Thanks for the review this was very helpful!
One thing I wanted to know is touch to unlock similar to Auto Unlock but before the door opens you need to press a button on the keypad?
Ow and can you open de door by voice command via siri?
Can I get the bridge with an American plug?
Linus?
hahahhahah BRO
Thanks for the detailed video. I've got two use cases for which I would very much appreciate feedback. If there is no WiFi/internet access can the lock be opened:
1. Via bluetooth using my phone?
2. Just by using the keypad?
Answers to your questions:
1. Yes - the lock has Bluetooth, and even comes without the "wifi-bridge" as just the lock.
2. Yes - the keypad is via BT, so codes (when properly programmed) will work. (Bluetooth V 4.2)
My internet went down the second day I had the lock installed - and I recieved a notice that "lock lost wifi connection" and when my internet was back another notification came confirming it was back online. But BT is always working when you are close enough.
Hi! Nice video!
Is there any fingerprint reader?
How about the battery? It lasts enough?
That’s great. When I arrived in Portugal, since doors open with keys from they inside (unlike the US), I assumed a smart lock would be impossible. But I searched for how-to’s on doing it with European locks and found this. 🥳
Depends on european country which side the keylock is positioned
After I unlock the door, I have to over rotate my lock to open the door, will this do that?
Yes it does
does it work in the US
What if the battery dies? How do you get in?
The same as it wasn't installed. Use a key.
Do some companies install this ? I dont want to do myself...
yes ofc
very detailed thank you
thanks!
i always thought its mounted inside XD
hahahhaa
Great video
Is there an rechargabel battery pack ?
No, using normal batteries only recommended. Rechargable batteries usually have lower nominal voltage than 1.5v causing problems
How strong is the motor? Can it open multi point door locks?
I´m also curious about it.... did you get further detail?
@@ChristianYoungAr No, I gave up and bought a new door with all the bells and whistles.
@@denizg2653 I am looking for a lock that will work on multi point door locks. Did this one not work for you?
is switching cylinder easy ?
for me like 5mins
It’s not by Yale. It’s by Abloy. Manufacturer is ABLOY. Then it’s “Yale family” by ABLOY, and Linus is the model.
i dont trust this lol
I’ve been using August lock for years now. Yale bought them I believe. It’s very safe. I leave my house and it lock’s automatically. I always have my keys and my Apple Watch so I can always get in

looking great. how about security ?
no worries about that, the unit is inside, keypad cant be hacked etc
One of the worst ecosystems for smart locks. The app is horrible and the connectivity between devices is appaling. I whish I picked another brand.
