It's really nice to see any sort of positive community response for deep. I think it's an excellent game that I've enjoyed more than some AAA multiplayer games, and whenever I see people constantly complaining in comment sections and on the discord, I can't help but think the player base is mostly made up of whiny children.
Yep, they complain because the game isnt just some random anime slop. Its an original game with an actual PvE and PvP system. I never seen Deepwoken as dry, these people who think it is, should take a break. It obviously gets dry after you play the game for 1000 hours non stop.
Main reason I play Deepwoken frequently is for three things. The ever expanding lore, gameplay that continues to become more unique for players time and time again, and for the dedication the mods and developers have for their game. Most games on the platforms always have some form of 'hit with the player base' of Roblox, only then to just die off after early success. I can agree that for a game that 'doesn't have updates'. We are gifted to have something every week before major updates hit. It keeps it refreshing. It's like getting a meal every week rather then a crumb of food once a millennium. Additional note: Most of paid products in game are mainly for revives(don't recommend if you are a true roguelike enthusiast. Plus additional emotes. Nothing predatory to make gameplay easier or harder for other players!
Updates each week is quanity over quality and its been like 15 months since the last major update. Yes they're successful but they're constantly making decisions that the community finds questionable. Remove weekly and make them every 3 weeks or 4. Overworld content should've been the main priority to begin with instead of stalling for time and playing cursed gear.
Brother this has been the consensus for like a year, I think they've heard this before, the only logical conclusion is that they simply don't care and weekly slop is preferable for whatever reason (despite monthly updates being vastly superior).
We don't even deserve these updates the devs just push them out even though we hate on them but we'll need to appreciate the devs for these constant weekly updates
The issue for me (I am a new player, so don't be too harsh on me), is that everything seemed... pointless after completing my first build. I didn't have anything to do and wanted to explore the game on my own but I was too scared of losing all my progress, being forced to only play when my friends were on so I could "feel safe". I'd try to get better at PvP but I didn't really have anyone to train with and I didn't wanna do it with strangers in fear of getting gripped. Also, the game just doesn't tell you anything? You just kinda walk around until a voidwalker appears and kills you, or at least that's how my experience was. Honestly, I really like this community despite being new, Deepwoken really makes me happy and hopeful that there CAN be good games in Roblox if people just do it and stick to it. I just think there are many things that I don't like, like how the game barely ever tells you anything about the lore through visuals and instead forces you to read a bunch of crap or how the combat system is not very interesting from my point of view, among other things. But seeing so many people play this game and have fun really makes me happy. I guess the point is that there are things that I don't like about the game and I just't don't know if it's just me or if it's just bad game design. These things make me so upset because the game looks beautiful, but it doesn't live up to my expectations. Y'know when you see a game with so much potential that you just get the feeling that you could just grab it and change it? It's what I feel when I see Deepwoken, and maybe that's just because I have a different idea of where this game would go if I was the one making it. It's really unclear where they're going with Deepwoken, but I still wanna be there to see where it goes. (unrelated but the video looks very good congrats and sorry for the yapfest)

I agree with you actually, the early game is quite horrible for new players, the devs are working on making it better but for now you kinda just gotta rely on youtubers and guides. Thankfully there is ALOT of those so it should be pretty straightforward on what to do. As for your other problem with struggling to "feel safe" and learning the game, you kinda just need to play the game and stop being scared of everything, because unfortunately there is no other approach (other than to1 but that doesn't account for everything) that doesn't include going head on into danger. Otherwise you will be stuck as a permafreshie and i don't think that's what you want... Anyways I hope you enjoy the game : )

I do think they make testing difficult and we already know how a lack of testing has done in the past, I mean, Ironsing for its first few months could literally do 500 damage with 2 mantras and now the Pyre Keeper, well... at least the pyre keeper got nerfed but I do think that it is an oversight on the part of the devs. I hate to sound ungrateful but I think if they were all about making the game better then they would do monthly updates...
only issue with overworld ganks is how insanely overpowered assassins are still. you get run up on and hit with a double assassination lose 3 bars+ and then u gotta deal with wtv else

Using playercount to justify that a game doesn't need improvements is the cope that TF2 players have been using for years, only for it to be debunked now and for them to realize playercounts don't actually reflect the health of a game or how fun it is for the individual. You can feign positivity now, but tomorrow you'll be back playing the same Deepwoken, making the same complaints. Don't mistake being grateful with being a fool, and don't fool yourself. Be grateful by appreciating the good things they do, not the magical number attached to their game. Criticize the bad because you give a shit and want to see improvements. Again, no one complains about the game because they hate it, those who hate it don't care enough for that. You complain because you know there's potential being wasted here, comparing it to the garbage on this platform that this game is unfortunately bound to is only limiting its potential. If it was made in any other engine it'd suddenly be put under much more scrutiny, because then it'd be seen as a "real game".

Just my opinion but like the introduction of new legendary weapons with new gimicks in weeklys kinda dont make sense and seem just added to make content. Also the new mantras and graphics style they going towards kinda goes against the retro style at least i think was one of the main reasons i started to play. And lowkey after layer 2 i feel like we could have been fine without all these weekleys and just let them cook on conquest and world events.

I recommend you scroll through updates just to get a feel for how much we really got, 3 new oaths, 1 new attunement, 2 new mobs, 1 new boss and that’s just stuff that verse 2 did add, but in addition we got a fuck ton of new legendary and non legendary weapons, mantras for each attunement have essentially doubled, every attunement has a path now, huge changes to shrine of order (you cannot make the same builds as verse 2 anymore), ALOT of relics which will eventually change how the game is played when they add a relic slot, and probably much more that i can’t list off of the top of my head, but you get the idea
Problem is that Deepwoken has basically been straying from its core identity to make way for adding a bunch of anime shit like Sukuna's flame arrow (flame ballista) or flashy eye candy that doesn't even fit the atmosphere of the game (pyrekeeper which literally looks and plays like it was ripped out of a Hoyo game or any other gacha game for that matter).

In addition, there are many games which are good that are also extremely fucking repetitive. Go complain about Sekiro or Hollow Knight about why you have to fight the same enemies every time. Not here, not in this game, where there are multiple different ways to prog, and where the constant multiplayer servers makes every run distinctly unique unless you're avoiding all social interaction like a fucking bum, or jumping everyone on sight. There is far more uniqueness in each run put into this game without making it entirely randomized like a roguelike that calling each playthrough repetitive because you refuse to have fun is nothing short of utter stupidity. I care for this game and I like it, but the game is doing just fucking fine, as you can tell by the player count. Deep has been to dry for too long, unless something inordinally out of the way and extremely over powered gets added (ysleys) No point in grinding, and if I want it anyway, ill just do maestro in like 20 seconds for it. And if its rare and out of the way and Isnt overpowered, I just cant be asked (like the swordfish) new content has to be new attunments or oaths for me or game breaking weapons, which arent fun to play with or against, when conquest comes out, if its not one of those three as a reward genuinley... who cares?

The only reason anyone is complaining is because they've already shredded through the massive fuck ton of content Deepwoken has granted them.

You're limiting the game by comparing it to the actual garbage on the platform it's unfortunately bound to. I haven't played this game in a year, came back, same issues, same repetitive gameplay loop, same lack of an actual reason to play besides "waste 5 hours making a gimmick off-meta build that's only interesting because of this single new talent we added". Now they added instanced hellmode and more shiny anime slop to farm for, more dumbass legendary weapons to the point they don't even feel special anymore. You know that if you actually cared for this game's wellbeing and wanted to see it prosper, you'd be advocating for it to improve instead of residing in your positive comfort zone? People don't complain because they hate the game, if they did they'd just quit. They complain because they care.

@@pantommy I'm comparing it to every other game. I never mentioned I was just talking about those on roblox. You must be blind if you think there's something out there better than this. For the last time, playing the game for 1000+ hours straight and then calling it dry because there's no content left for you to rapidly consume does NOT mean the game is bad. The repetitive gameplay loop is because you're playing it repetitively, not because the game itself is repetitive. I am not residing in my positive comfort zone. In addition, there are many games which are good that are also extremely fucking repetitive. Go complain about Sekiro or Hollow Knight about why you have to fight the same enemies every time. Not here, not in this game, where there are multiple different ways to prog, and where the constant multiplayer servers makes every run distinctly unique unless you're avoiding all social interaction like a fucking bum, or jumping everyone on sight. There is far more uniqueness in each run put into this game without making it entirely randomized like a roguelike that calling each playthrough repetitive because you refuse to have fun is nothing short of utter stupidity. I care for this game and I like it, but the game is doing just fucking fine, as you can tell by the player count. No matter how badly the community shits on this game, they're going to keep playing it because it's fucking good. There is nothing else like Deepwoken. Not on Roblox, not anywhere else in the world. It's an entirely one of a kind game by Monad Studios, a combination of mechanics from multiple genres. You wanna talk about repetitive? Helldivers 2 is fucking repetitive. Every other game is repetitive as long as you make it repetitive. Stop blaming the game for allowing you to do what you want. Start playing the game for fun if you want to have fun.

Deep has been to dry for too long, unless something inordinally out of the way and extremely over powered gets added (ysleys) No point in grinding, and if I want it anyway, ill just do maestro in like 20 seconds for it. And if its rare and out of the way and Isnt overpowered, I just cant be asked (like the swordfish) new content has to be new attunments or oaths for me or game breaking weapons, which arent fun to play with or against, when conquest comes out, if its not one of those three as a reward genuinley... who cares?
