Bobby never got enough credit.I used to work with a (great) piano player who dug Bobby to pieces but none of the rest of us were hip to him.Too bad.He swung like crazy.
Hey thank you for the DVD recommendations, I haven't heard of either of those! I can't wait to check them out. I just saw your reply. I can't seem to reply to your comment, but anyway, thanks again!
@jamlaw Cool! If you can get a copy of the show you would LOVE it! It's out on DVD. It's called "Words and Music By Bobby Troup" (2005) and s still available! I saw one on Amazon just now. It's a really fun show! Love Bobby. Did you see him in the movie: "OP GIRL GOES CALYPSO (a.k.a. BOP GIRL) 1957" ? It's on DVD, too at The Video Beat.
LOL I love Bobby's cheekiness. He indeed loved food as Julie London his 2nd wife was an incredible cook. Julie especially loved cooking Mexican and often had elaborate meals out by her gorgeous pool in their Encino estate. I had the pleasure of knowing Bobby and Julie and wrote Julie's bio: www.amazon.com/Lady-Liberty-Definitive-London-Handbook/dp/1492914657/ref=sr_1_fkmr0_1?ie=UTF8
If only we had writers and singers like this today...
How perfect is he?what a voice and fallen. Missed so much.
I'm Bobby's granddaughter and I've never seen this, what a crack up, thanks for posting!

John Pizzarelli plays this frequently on his Radio Deluxe program. It would be so nice if there were TV shows on like this nowadays.
