Jim and Brenda The fact that you take the time in your busy day to share with all of us a day in your life is truly a blessing. You don't know the joy you bring to so many, including me.
Simply AMAZING and beautiful how you two keep the tradition of these awesome animals alive and well. Too many people fail to realize, these work horses literally built this country. You can tell an owners disposition by their animals behavior. Everyone has their own style. While Jim may not here carried away with praise, those animals are trained to perfection. He's clearly doing something right. Love watching your beautiful animals animals and seeing inside your world. ❤
Jim, Brenda, thanks for having me on your beautiful farm today, for sweet corn planting, and cutting hay. And a very special Happy Birthday to you Brenda!!!.......Jim, Nova Scotia, Canada.
HA HA HA…….! @4:43 Mrs Brenda thank you for your selfless attitude…….. The way we see your world regardless what may come “rain, snow, shine is felt and seen thru your tireless little legs I can’t send enough thank you’s “100 thanks” 😊 to you and yours MADAM🎉………
that dump truck seemed to be respectful of you guys. gave me an idea for you guys to video on. the understanding of respect and courtesy when passing or meeting horses on the road. I think there's a lot that can be said both ways but the main thing is understanding the difference between a vehicle and a horse. like spooking or yelling out as someone speeds by etc. I know I've been on both sides, I've had my horse get spooked by a car blowing their horn as they went by and I've been a passenger in a vehicle and my coworker was bent cause an amis buggy was slow and it wasn't a good place to be sitting in that scenario
Jim, it sure looks like those horses could back in that cart on their own. Funny how Ken turned his head to his right as if to say "how are we doing" ?.
Happy Birthday, Brenda! My favorite job on the farm, mowing hay, especially alfalfa. Fond memory. We always left the backswath for last, omitting the chance that a rock falling from the stone wall or fallen tree limb would break a knife on the mower and hold up mowing of the rest of the field. Just different than Jim in this video. Jim, you show skillful horse handling to keep the end of the cutter bar so close to edges and posts without hitting them. Nice! Brenda, your skill as videographer keeps getting better and better. The sequence from low in the grass to the oncoming horses was wonderful. Love the video!
Happy birthday to you 🎂 Brenda have a good day , well the hay season on Jim l watch a few other shows as well there all cutting hay , the water tank works good , the horses 🐎 will love nice fresh rain water 💧 ok keep us updated guys God bless 🙌
Skilful handling with the mower Jim. I loved mowing but I had a nice tractor and disc mower/conditioner. I often mowed a field without having a single stop. You were often close to the fence posts as was I, but I would think twice about trying it with the horses. Happy birthday Brenda, choose a good name for the foal x
The mowing is enjoyable to watch. I think that mowing would be the first training job I would give the colts. I think we your viewers should all send you a pack of seeds to try in your garden. It could be fun.
Concrete wire cages in the garden -- cool beans! That's what we use, in combination with a metal post every 15' or so to prevent the wind from blowing the cages over when the wind gets strong. The concrete wire is in 6^ squares and 5' tall. After I make a cage, I cut it in half vertically for the shorter plants like potatoes and peonies. I leave the cages tall for tomatoes and cucumbers. You can change the diameter of the cages according to the plants' needs. The peony cages are 12 6" links in circumference. I find it to be a useful system. You can even make a few custom-made narrow cages to support plants with kinked/broken stems until they get big and strong enough to stand with the other foliage in the bigger cages. I am SO envious (in a good/constructive way) of you being able to use horses to do most of the farm work. I have always envied the Amish for all their horses and horse-drawn equipment. I am already blessed with 2.5 irrigated acres of grass, garden plots and assorted fruit and nut trees. I lost my cell phone with 20 years of information in it. I just regained contact with a older guy (I'm 78.75 years old) who used to do occasional jobs for me, so, now I can have him pull a couple of rotten posts in my grape patch and drill new 12" holes to put the new posts in. I see that some of the nut trees I aspire to plant need pollinating trees to thrive, so that means a few extra holes for the pollinating trees. As I told you before, the ONE tractor-drawn tool I would want if I had your farm would be a top-quality rock picker, to go over your freshly-plowed fields at least once or twice every year to keep improving your soil to the point very few rocks were left to cause trouble. I should think that fewer rocks would also be easier on the horses' hooves. The Amish have a truly amazing assortment of ingenious horse-drawn equipment. May God bless and protect Gordon Family Farm and all who dwell there! 🐴🐴🐱🐱🙏🙏
I remember my uncle in Ontario hitching up the horses to the mower just like that one and doing the mowing. Nice to see you mowing it brings back old memories.
Happiest birthday Brenda. Loved the fact that y’all are more than friends lol that was funny. Jim you made a funny. I like Bree for the filly’s name also. I’m so happy she’s here and healthy.
Jim, Do you hope to get another foal out of Lady, in a year, to create a team with? Do you plan on showing us Baron's foals out of customer mares? How old should the filly be before Lady can work/exercise again.
Happy Birthday Brenda! Love the new foal. We use food grade IBC totes for rain water collection but before I would give to animals, I would either filter it, or use a flush system because roofs collection bird waste, debris, etc.
Hoes are wonderful tools for the garden. I don’t think non gardeners realize that. My mom and dad could part your hair with one. Wonderful job filming Brenda. Happy Birthday!
Happy birthday, Brenda! With Lady and Baron, I think Princess would be a great name for the beautiful filly. You could call her Prin or Pri (pronounced P-r-e-e)
Jim I got a chuckle out of you marking the corn rows. Now You know what your team goes through pulling machinery or were you just showing them how to do it. LOL I really enjoy the vidioes and I don't miss a any of them. Thank you Tom from Nebraska
You 2 are Sweet! makes life easier! The clatter of the mower is music! And An old JD tractor & a #5 mower is more music! Are you going to try Baron on the mower, or do you think the clatter will spook him?
Happy birthday Brenda 🎉🎉...like your different spots of garden as so pretty. Jim I can smell the cut grass as I always liked when the lawn is cut. Nice and clean smell Happy Memorial Day 🇺🇲🇺🇲 God bless you both and enjoy your new foal...can't wait to see more pictures of her along with Lady..

Happy Birthday Brenda. Such a peaceful way to mow, without a roaring tractor engine.
Lovely! Horses full into their summer bloom, shining like the champs they are. What a life you all have. Greetings from Australia.
I can’t believe how good that mower works

I like how the chicken is following Jim hoping to get a corn kernel
Brenda...beautiful camera work on the mowing!! Do you think the horses derive any feelings of satisfaction doing such a good job?
Happy for your new horse. I still remember when Buck passed away only 3 months ago. Circle of life.
I am so impressed with your farm and everything you and Brenda do and the horses are just stunning. Stay safe and God bless you all. ❤
