The front line men in the army had it just as hard as the marines
Great series!
God bless the Marines ! The bravest men God ever made ! (And I'm a squid). RIP to all the heros who didn't come home. 🫡 🇺🇸
Agreed and the army and navy also.
Doing my part for the algorithm.
I cant even imagine the suffering these tough marines had to endure I am nothing compared to them .
needs moar views!
.... This history is especially daunting when you consider they achieved it without Kevlar protection, knee pads, eye protection ... and most of the time, not even gloves.
I'd also say the Marines were better than the Japaneses soldiers. Have better equipment and logistics is part of being a better military unit. In almost every battle where the Japanese didn't have a very long time to dig in and make elaborate defenses, the Marines would kill far more of the enemy than they'd lose themselves.
You can't underestimate the disadvantage of attacking heavily fortified and well thought out defensive systems. They were all great fighters and very brave (both sides).
Hills are not very friendly with the Leathernecks.
Private slege was army
Eugene Sledge was a marine. He wrote With The Old Breed: at Peleliu and Okinawa.
@@Bob.W.he's an idiot. Forgive him. 🤣🤣🤣
