I was on my way to the store.
There not 3 houses down from mine was a Workmate 200 sitting by the road.
It was missing a couple rubber feet for the base but it works just fine. A little silicone lube on the threads and it will be a great addition to the herd. 😎

I bought an almost new large Workmate (i think its called a 400) for $40 at my favorite consignment store. It has an all wood top, and is very handy. You got the b est deal of all.
That is a good score.
I bought a 425 at "Your Estate Sale" in Schoolcraft. I use it all the time.

It is a nice big shop but it does have it's limits.

Good catch! It should be just fine with some oil (or lubriplate). I fitted a board to go in the middle and hold a big vise. Never too many clamps (or workmates).

I like that they fold up and and can be tucked into a corner.

FREE is good. My 2 are beat to death but oiled up and work nice. Least I think I have 2. Happy Grandparents weekend. Mowed but eat up with something. Again. Not nice! God Bless Yall!

I like the old ones not nessary the new ones. They have 2 moderns versions of it one that comes I the 50ish dollar price range and is junk. The other one retails at 120ish dollars goes on sale often but it resembles serviceable but not nearly thr quality of the old ones. My first clue if its new or old is it chipboard for wood like top or real boards/obviously replaced also plastic knobs are a dead giveaway. Not that newer ones can't be used but they sure don't make them like they use to. My grandpa's felt like it was made out of cast iron and as a kid could barley move it. Free is a good price glad you have the fun without the expense.
Dad gave me my oldest one.
He took it in trade for some electrical work. Dad would do that for people who didn't have money.
It has aluminum risers and a steel platform base. The top was rotted from being left outside so I replaced it with a piece of melamine laminated countertop with oak trim.
That was 30+ years ago. The bench is still in great shape.
The one I have I had to replace the top so I grabbed some oak pallet boards and dipped them in some half hardened stain that was junk and chunky. It's a beautiful slick surface now and dosent care about water since it's impregnated into the wood. Using up wjat you have!

I got one that way too. All I had to do was make new top parts for it. My mother gave me another.
The particle board tops tend to fall apart.
