LT Michael Murphy of Lake Ronkonkoma NY was awarded the CMH in recognition of his heroism. Several years ago, persons desecrated a circular black granite memorial that was placed in his memory in his home town. The outrage was palpable, the towns people questioned their kids, neighbors talked to neighbors and the police did their thing. In less than 24 hrs a little punk was arrested and charged for the disrespect. A local granite company replaced the memorial free of charge and the go fund me raised an amazing amount. Lt Murphy’s father requested that a museum honoring all navy seals be built with the funds. That museum exists today in Lake Ronkonkoma, Long Island Ny . God bless our troops! 🇺🇸

In reality these SEALS were extremely arrogant and are solely to blame for their own failures. It really is a disgrace to the people who deserved to recieve their medals. This movie is a total fabrication. They basically out of their own stupidity walked directly into a completely avoidable ambush after poaching the mission from other soldiers who had been working on it for months. They refused to heed any advice given to them, took the wrong equipment, and dropped in the wrong area which completely gave them away. There's even a video of the fight floating out there on the internet of the ordeal recorded by the Taliban, which only lasted minutes in reality. It's not for the faint of heart.

The ending rescue was Hollywood. The Army's Ranger Battalion was in the area because of the helicopter crash, and this gunfight. They were mostly looking for bodies. They saw Afghans moving a westerner they had dressed in Afghan clothing. Turned out they were friendlies moving him to protect him. Great movie.

To me, they needed 2 more guys. 1 with a belt fed weapon and one with a M16/203 grenade launcher, or a guy with an auto grenade launcher. Also type in here, ww2 heroes shorts. U will be surprised how many tv and movie stars from the 40s through 80s and beyond, were absolutely studs during wartime. A pretty good actor, but a real knack for directing, specially true stories. He did Deep Water Horizon, and a couple others. If u need some more True story type movies check out, 13 hours, American sniper, Blackhawk Down, Fury, 1917, Dunkirk, Hacksaw Ridge Once we were soldiers. I think he also did, The perfect storm, with Clooney and Wahlberg. I also appreciated here they showed my old boys, the Rangers. Typically if any hardcore small unit needs backup or rescue or fast attack, the Rangers are on standby.

I keep hearing that what took that Chinook helicopter down wasn’t actually a lucky shot from a RPG. It was a Russian air defense system the taliban had. The Army SMU (Delta) knew the taliban had that weapon system and turned down this operation. The SEAL Team took the operation and Marcus has given so many different versions of the story that it’s hard to tell what happened and what didn’t. There were members of SEAL Team 6 who were originally on the QRF and got pulled off at the last minute because they knew what was gonna happen. One podcast that covered this was the Anti Hero Podcast with Brent Tucker where he talked with an investigative reporter about numerous cases of misconduct and coverups within the community.

The water at BUDS training is a near constant 52° F
People like to THINK they could pass that training. But nearly nobody that feels that way really CAN complete it. Its the cocky ones out first every time. It sounds like a friggin NIGHTMARE and I know I would fail, and fail hard and fast. The physical standards would kill my chances, and if that didnt the workouts in 52° water would. The ONLY part I would have a chance in is the swimming, water training parts, NOT in the ocean but a pool. Even then I doubt I would be up to standards.
Friggin RESPECT to SEALs. And even more to these four.

When they were arguing in the mountains, the officer in charge gave the same orders, and you follow those orders. The only time you are not supposed to follow orders is if they are illegal orders.

Which would be hard to depict in a movie. But nonetheless. Marcus is from Texas. Few hours south of me. He loves our state, hence the flags. Opinions aside, history and existence have proven war is reality and it always will be. The world is not destined to get better. We should be thankful these individuals are here, ready and willing to fight on this countries and its inhabitants behalf come what may. People forget the world would be a much much different place had they not chose to do so.

They should have at least secured the two boys and let the old man walk down. It would take him a lot longer. It probably wouldn't work though.

Friday Night Lights, the TV show, would be good for reactions. Not a lot of channels do it, but it's great.
The actor who plays Murphy stars in FNL.

You guys should do Deepwater Horizon and Patriot's Day next. Both star Marky Mark and were directed by the same guy who made Lone Survivor. It's like a non-interconnected trilogy.

I think that they should've held the prisoners until they regained contact from the commanders. It might've been a better situation. But that being said it's easy to look back on things from my couch and not knowing the bigger picture. RIP to all these fine men.

So while these guys are all legends in they own right to hear how much Axe got shot after the cliff fall is kinda insane by itself. Nearly a dozen rounds multiple in each leg couple in the chest multiple in the head and torso. Both arms tore to shit. Rest in Power to every fallen soldier from this war and every other. To our brother and sister father and mothers and daughters and sons in the service. Rest well we the nation salute you.

Also, a very important movie called Taking Chance is a must; it stars Kevin Bacon. His character is an escort who is bringing home a fallen soldier to his family and what happens during the process. It's very sad, but necessary if you truly want to understand what goes on during this process. Please react to this movie, thank you!

Great reaction! Always love your reactions show the important parts & your reaction! But why so much of the end fight cut out?? The duck, the retaliation to help marcus? & the clips of scenes of their thousand year code?
Regardless! Great reaction! Thank you for your good energy & being open minded the truth of history! No one can ever know EVERYTHING about ANYTHING…. We have to continue to learn, improve & learn the real truth as much as we can! Stand up for justice… justice is pre requisite of peace in everything; family, friends, work, civil matters, school & definitely in war.
Thank you again. Need more positive energy & togetherness such as you guys! 💯 blessings, success, peace & love to you both , your families & the community ✌️💜

In the book LONE SURVIVOR this battle was described as being a RUNNING GUN FIGHT THAT LASTED FOR OVER 2 HOURS. During these 2+ hours those 4 Navy SEALs were 75%-80% surrounded by an enemy force of 200+ taliban soldiers. These 4 Navy SEALs were taking fire from elevated positions from almost every direction.
On top of the wounds they received from bullets and shrapnel from RPGs they were also constantly being peppered by the chips and shards of the granite they were using for cover from the Taliban soldiers when their shots missed the Navy SEALs.
In the scenes of the movie where the SEALs are jumping and falling down the mountain that is not 100% accurate. In fact they jumped 3 times not 2 and the mountain was far more steeper then how it was portrayed in the movie. This was done because it was impossible to recreate the falls 100% accurately for the movie.
Also in the book LONE SURVIVOR everytime they jumped down the mountain 1 or 2 of the SEALs broke a bone in their body. Michael Murphy fractured his face and Marcus Luttrell fractured multiple vertebrae in his spine.
With all the wounds and broken bones these 4 Navy SEALs received Danny Dietz got the worst of it.
    He was shot 11 times.
1 SHOT IN THE LEFT ANKLE
1 SHOT IN THE RIGHT CALF
1 SHOT IN THE RIGHT THIGH
    1 SHOT IN THE GROIN
    2 SHOTS IN THE STOMACH
    2 SHOTS IN THE THROAT
    3 SHOTS IN THE HEAD
Early in the battle Dietz right thumb was completely blown off and he had to shoot left handed from that point on. The movie shows him losing 3 fingers but thats incorrect.
And lastly in 1 of the jumps off the mountain both of his legs were broken when the other 3 SEALs landed on top of him. From that point on Marcus Luttrell had to carry him down the mountain.
For his actions in this battle Michael Murphy was posthumously awarded the Medal of Honor for bravery and valor in combat.
In the pictures shown at the end of the movie excluding Marcus Luttrell every man seen in the pictures we're killed during the mission Operation Red Wings.
After numerous assassination attempts by the taliban Mohammed Gulab was relocated to the US in 2015 and currently lives in Texas with his wife and 7 children.
