I've been playing for over a quarter of a century now; I commented on a thread once that Every NPC in my worlds is a retired adventurer. Not so the party won't randomly go around killing people, but because every player I've ever met lives on in my worlds as a hero, a villain, or as just a simple museum curator doing what he loved doing back when he was a player character.
Unless your older brother decides he wants to play a lawful good paladin and kills your chaotic neutral halfling rogue bc he's mad at you irl..
RIP Skwissgar Squiggoth lvl 9 rogue..
For Skwissgar there will be no fifth edition 😥
One half Bilbo, one half Indy. Beautiful. Edited to add: this was really bittersweet.
If the op ever decided it was time to retire Sam, I think Guy would be at his funeral giving a eulogy.
I hope James passing was peaceful and painless.
It will never cease to amaze me how people react surprised by a dragon getting a job, especially at a bank! They're incredibly intelligent, shrewd, and will do whatever it takes to get the most treasures they can. Of course they can get jobs and excel at them!
Dragons are hyper intelligent, but they're also extremely prideful. Even the most good-aligned dragon still tends to have a sense of superiority over everything. So I think the amazement comes less from the fact that a dragon was able to *get* a job, more from how you managed to convinced such a creature to agree to work for you.
@@Zarnirox All they'd have to do is work their way up the ladder and they'll be running the joint in no time. A few years of following simple instructions (a trivial amount of time to a dragon) to being the one giving the instructions.
1) Good story, 2) great art for said story!
🤣 im picturing the halfling climbing up on the booth behind the conversation so he can see over the guy's shoulder n then them noticing him n him having to act nonchalant about y he is climbing the furniture
"It belongs in a museum!"
I imagine Guy delivering the same quests as Sam to other parties, just to maintain their rivalry.
I LOVE Sam! He's an amazing character I'm sure my dream character to play in a campaign would love to adventure with! Both love mythology and history! I'm so sad that James died and his adventures were cut short. I think he and I would have been good friends. Still, I'm glad he filled OP's life with so much mystery, knowledge, adventure, and joy. I hope OP can soon find peace with his friend's death and will always keep him in their heart. Maybe, as a nice homage to his friend, James could appear in one of OP's games as a historian who helps the party? I'm sure James would love that!
Huh, the dragon in the art reminds me of the loch ness monster from that one scooby doo movie! YIRBEL LIVES
It's a winged serpent...Think a ripoff of Quetzalcoatl, the Aztec God.
Just yeah. RIP Mini Indy, you helped make the world better
IT BELONGS IN A MUSEUM D_D
Holy cow this was an amazing adventure to listen to. Rest in peace James and Sam will live on in the hearts of all who met him.
Is that art inspired by director Steven Spinning’s classic film, Indian Jeans?
Mini Indy... I'd just go by Mindi at that point to test the DM's NPC reactions.
INDIANA JONES
omg, im honestly crying over this, i loved it
R.I.P James
im sorry for your loss. i just lost three friends. me and 2 others all got cancer at the same time. i beat mine. i hate it. i try to tell myself 'god aint done with me yet'. and just lost a 44 year long friend to a heart attack on friday. :(
I love this story
Why does that one guy look like the Quaker Oats mascot?
This one hurts
8:08 clearly to no one in particular
james died suddenly? did he get the vax?
The vaccine isn’t a cure, it’s a device used to prevent COVID
Don't spread misinformation.
People come here to listen to stories in order to take a pause formt he madness out there, by listening to stories about P&P where people go to take a pause from the madness out there - and then there of course has to be the annoying tinfoil-hat idiot who has to get on everones nerves even here. You may wanna get yourself an actual hobby or something, maybe...watch some paint dry or whatever, jsut don't get on people's nerves who just wanna chill out with your nonsense about completely unrelated bs that the neighbour of a nephew of a co-worker of a friend of an uncle told someone.
