@@JoyWay Ahh ok, it wasn't clear in the demo, To be honest it looks a bit lacking on content. So there are no Ai opponents just ghosts?. Ghosts don't react to the player and don't give a immersive single player experience & a lot easier to program than creating real Ai opponents. As a massive VR sim racing fan I was looking forward to this release, but then found out it was joy way and with your track record lets just say i'm not hyped anymore. i'm not sure I will find this game engaging enough. Have you got all the bugs ironed out of stride fates yet? Still waiting for my free copy of fates that you promised to early adopters of stride which I bought as a single player mode was promised. But only gave to Steam users and not Oculus ones. This sums it up ruclips.net/video/mqvC-r05AFU/видео.html at stride timestamp
I get confused making these videos in advance, almost every single VR game has an embargo of the same day of release but this one went a day early. I'm tired 😂
No it doesn't feel anything like a next gen driving sim at all, it's very arcadey, fun for sure but there isn't much here if you want a sim racing experience or if you want to play solo and not against other players online.
I thought this was a paid review at first my bad. First impressions are EVERYTHING in vr especially. edit The driving also seems slow, almost like golfcart speeds. probably looks feels more speedy in headset but on video it looks waaay to slow.
Just an FYI this isn't a review, it's just a first impressions. And the ghost thing is just my own personal preference, I'd prefer an option to race physical AI opponents in single player, that's all, it's more exciting. If multiplayer servers dry up then the game will be left with just asynchronous ghost racing which I don't find fun at all.
"Single Player Impressions" - It's right there in the title my guy, if you don't pay for PS+ or don't play racing games online then there are no collisions and no AI races. Just asynchronous ghost laps. It states this in the video 3 times as well.
Every single vr youtube video title be like: "IS THIS (instert popular flat game) BUT IN VR???" It must be disappointing to the game devs trying to make something new.
Yeah, it all looks great until you get close to the cars and they turn into ghost wireframes and you just pass through them. That's not a racing game; it's just some time trial or best lap ghost race thing. Hopefully the add in proper opponents with collision and stuff, or else they might have a bit of a flop on their hands, which would be a shame with the rest of the game looking solid.
All of that will be in the game on release. Benjo is only playing the asynchronous singleplayer mode here. You can't collide with the opponents because they are *recordings* of other real players' lap times. The game will also feature real time pvp, with or without optional collisions, as well as a battle mode with weapon pick ups. Both Xocus (the developers) and Joyway (the publishers) have been very vocal about these game modes, but, as usual, Benjo is more concerned with being first out of the traps with a video than he is about doing even the simplest bit of research into a title before doing so.
You're the reason I decided to buy an oculus and start recording my gameplay. You're seriously great content and you also give great details in reviewing it!

Yeah if you're playing single player or don't pay for PS+ (on PSVR2) you'll just be racing ghosts and essentially doing time trials. The only way to race physical cars that you can crash into is in online multiplayer. Which is fine but I was checking out the single player offering here, just ghosts, only asynchronous races.
Why do you ALWAYS have to diminish developers work by calling it "the new this" or "the new" that? People work hard on these games to set their product apart and you always just end up sh*tting on them.
The reactions to your comments are so predictable. Gamers are extremely entitled nowadays and are completely clueless about what goes into making a game and will just throw words like "ripoff" around like they actually know what that means.

This sums it up

@@linzkirk yeah, as a PSVR user, I'm still pretty bitter about Strides, too, tbh.
It's not November 14th 10am PST yet so you lied sir
I get confused making these videos in advance, almost every single VR game has an embargo of the same day of release but this one went a day early. I'm tired 😂
weird that you kept saying it needs time trials. Career mode is time trials. you literally race against ghosts and get trophies based on your time.
Does this game give you motion sickness
Does this game feel like the next gen driving sim?
No it doesn't feel anything like a next gen driving sim at all, it's very arcadey, fun for sure but there isn't much here if you want a sim racing experience or if you want to play solo and not against other players online.
Is this Motorstorm VR? I'd have to say certainly not.
Yeah doesn't live up to that high bar sadly
I thought it was coming out tomorrow on the 14th
Is it just me or does the count down voice sound like the Super Smash Bros voice 🤔
Sad there is no support for actual wheel and pedals
This looks like motion sickness simulator Deluxe
No motion sickness for me personal but I do have an iron stomach when it comes to VR
@@BeardoBenjo ill edit my comment to reflect that and I agree.
Does it have wheel support?
Thanks for the question, yes it does - on PS VR2 and Steam
"Single Player Impressions" - It's right there in the title my guy, if you don't pay for PS+ or don't play racing games online then there are no collisions and no AI races. Just asynchronous ghost laps. It states this in the video 3 times as well.
No CPU cars? We need some racing games on the Quest 3.
@StewieDoesntExist are there single player races against ai?
Every single vr youtube video title be like: "IS THIS (instert popular flat game) BUT IN VR???" It must be disappointing to the game devs trying to make something new.
Assets and menus look like recycled "robo recall" work. Is this same devs?
The music though 👌🏼👌🏼👌🏼👌🏼
@@twitcherthesingleplayergamecat Ah, okay, cool cool.
You're the reason I decided to buy an oculus and start recording my gameplay. You're seriously great content and you also give great details in reviewing it!
There is no ai.
VERY far off from Motorstorm... but it does look decent.
The most fun part of these types of games is crashing and taking out other cars, which this game doesn’t have.
Yes it does
It does in other modes

Have you watched praydogs latest silent hill 2 vr trailer on vrified channel.
Greatest Voice over of all time.
Its a shame you cant use a Logitech g29 😢
This game is kinda poo Ben, not totally, but kinda..
Meh looks very basic, motor storm it is not.
They need to change the opponent into actual collision based cars. Ghost cars is not fun.
Hello, let us clear up the confusion (copy-pasting my reply here). Because there are collisions in the game.
The game has these game modes:
- Career or Async Multiplayer (with ghosts)
- Real-time Multiplayer (car collisions ON or OFF, set in the lobby settings)
- Combat Mode (real-time MP, with collisions and explosive stuff)
- Tournament Mode
Therefore, ghosts are a feature, not a bug. They benefit the player a ton:
- these are not some AI opponents, these are real players you play against
- they are matched to your skill level, which means it will be fun to play with, no matter if you're a newcomer or a seasoned pro
- as a player, you get a tailored experience and progress, jump the leaderboards at your own speed. Without the need to be online every day.

What you are talking about with the ai catching up is called rubberbanding ot is in most racing games and almost no one can do it good
Also, in this game those ghosts are NOT ai opponents. They are other REAL gamers, lol.
Nope! not even close,lmfao.
Racing ghost? So just a time trial game 🤦🏾♂️
This looks way off from Motorstorm. Has a real cheap vibe to it. And not so great vehicle handling, by the looks of it.
Why do you ALWAYS have to diminish developers work by calling it "the new this" or "the new" that? People work hard on these games to set their product apart and you always just end up sh*tting on them.
Welcome to the world of clickbait
Get therapy
I don't see it as diminishing. It sets a point a comparison for potential buyers.
A lot of VR games are unapologetic ripoffs of other properties. This game may not be that similar to Motorstorm but it is very generic.
The reactions to your comments are so predictable. Gamers are extremely entitled nowadays and are completely clueless about what goes into making a game and will just throw words like "ripoff" around like they actually know what that means.
Sorry beardo that looks a bit shit😂
Very boring looking.
For Christ sake please stop waving these hands in front of the screen. Head movement already makes me feel sick on anything bigger than an iPad and I’m not prone to motion sickens usually.
