Empath wasn't bad, it's quicker to get to do the companion quests. I took Hero Worshipped, Empath and Wanted for my first and Dream Home, Kid Stuff and Wanted for my second. I'll always want Wanted, lots of extra XP, ships and loot to be had.

Maybe when you click on an NPC you should pay more attention to what they're telling you instead of chatting with everyone else. Plus: closing every single tutorial popup with nary a glance and refusing to listen to Vasco as he teaches you how to space battle could be part of the issue as well.

i would advise you to use 1 mod which revoves all the stupid color filters that are in game it makes the game look 100x times better as there is no option in game to turn them off neither is there an option to increase the FOV settings which for a mostly FPS is bad....specially since bethesda have been on this game for allmost 8 years. also game is a lot easier to learn using a game pad...
