    Proper job lads. the two buildings are now one. Both crews did a nice bit of crane work. As for the girders, they fit better than they would have if bought from Globle House. (DIY Shop.) There is even a light on the job now. What's next? Well, lads, there is a storm brewing and it is heading this way. You Silly sod, that the steam from the kettle, go and make the tea and don't forget I have two sugers in mine. Martin, (Thailand)

    Hi Tony, Great to see the little people all involved in the construction and logistics, certainly brings things to life! Yes it was a time of great respect and formality ( including dress codes) Mr, Mrs etc which came out nicely in your dialogue. Yes the trusses needed the verticals as well as to look convincing. Ingenious on the lighting and mechanical strengthening, certainly adds the inter building rigidity, nothing worse than accidentally breaking the back of that roof. Hope Sid gets the lads down the pub for some celebratory drinks on a job well done! All the best Stephen

    Dear Tony, absolutely agree on the added vertical supports for the roof trusses. Those Plastruct trusses are awesome by themselves, but they miss a bit of detail. Guess they did that to be able to use these trusses in different scales. Think the added vertical supports just add the little necessary extra depth to the truss. Even when they’re only visible when Sid looks under and up the inside of the canopy.
    Love the story of the trusses being loaded up, transported by the North Eastern and hoisted in place at the Tyne Dock station! Beautiful how you’ve put together the work train consist!
    Yep, such a truss construction relying just on superglue is indeed fragile. As you’ve said, think it will all work out great when the roof construction is in place. Nevertheless, for added reliability of such glue joints it’s worth looking into adding a bit of full strength Matte Medium over the top of the glue joints. This will help prevent the deterioration over time of the superglue and adds a nice (flexible) extra bond over the surfaces, without being visible because it will dry absolutely flat. Definitely worth looking into.
    Still curious for the canopy and how the station will look with its roof installed. Cheerio

      @TONYNORTHEASTERN  4 месяца назад +1

      Good morning Vincent. thank you for commenting. i am glad that we think along the same lines with what i have done with joining both these buildings together. these building are still very flexible. but still care will have to be taken when handling them. so the next phase will be to make all the supporting brackets for the canopies. and the centre roof. which i am still thinking about its construction and what to use for the centre roof. thanks again for your input and thoughts. cheer;s for now Tony.
