Hi Tony. Fantastic as usual. Love the way you plan everything out. Station canopy looks amazing. Can see the amount of work you put into it. I like things to do with buses so the depot is going to be a treat. Bit worried those ladies are getting a bit cold in their underwear though. 😅 Thanks Tony. Thumbs up thumped 👍 ....Pete....
Hello Pete. how you tell if the ladies are getting cold. Oh yes i can see a couple of tips on the ice burgs. LOl. I am really excited about the bus depot as its not railway related. Tyne Dock was a must do although i am enjoying that station builds. the bus is something different if you know what i mean. and its going to be a bit of a challenge. thanks again for commenting. stay safe my friend. Tony.
Hi Tony the canopy facias look incredible, especially from a quite simple technique that you have shared with us all. I'm sure it's "Tony's Techniques " that inspies many modellers to scratch build their own structures that their makes their layouts as individual as the North Eastern.
Good morning Steve. that's what we have said all along keep it simple and let the details unfold with a drop of paint. many thanks again for commenting my friend. Tony.
Morning Tony, nice opening with the tankers running through the station, you and your scribing lines. But I must say when it's all built and painted it looks very effective. That view across the city from South Shields to Tyne Dock is exciting. Progress is tremendous again this week. I've received my Calendar thank you and I'm delighted with the pictures and indeed the quality of the Calendar, I'm going to enjoy each month as it rolls by. Sister-in-law came home last night so hopefully even with going to her two or three times a day is still less time than trying to do a hospital visit. I'm of today to Torquay United with the grandkids so will be a nice change. Take care both speak soon, Eddy and Anne xxx
Hello Eddy. that is great that you have received your calendar as i can never trust the postal service at times. hopefully each month you will find something creative to add to your model railway. take care my friend. all the best Tony.
Wow, this is marvellous. I used to use Tyne Dock station in the 1970's, but by then, it was a dingy place with no staff and all of the station buildings swept away. There doesn't seem to be much data around for you to work on, so I'd guess you have to use your imagination for the finer details. It did have one of those NER tile maps, as seen at York, Hexham, Morpeth, South Shields, Tynemouth and other places. No one around now will know where exactly it was, but you'll be able to put it wherever you like. I haven't seen the earlier episodes but I look forward to further developments
Interesting thought. there is a lot of artistic licence with the Tyne Dock build. due the area and size. but yes there very few photos around of the original station. I dont remember the old station as it was all gone except for a small shelter. Shields on the other hand was almost complete until the very end. Every time i go to any station i will always look at the architecture for ideas and what can be possible to build in model form. Thank you for commenting, as it was a pleasure to read. cheer's for now Tony.
thanks Tony, yes, it is a hughe improvement and it is a beautiful development. the passengers and staff at tyne dock must be very thankfull and happy for the proud building. As usual it's a pleasure to watch your video. If it was my railway I might habe been to lazy if I already had a station there to replace that with another one but really these two I can't compare. Buildings like these, in the wild found in hundreds before their lines were closed down, are not well covered by neither model railway enthusiasts nor the industry. It's a small station, fully operational, fully maned, but at the same time a big building which needs quite some track length. And not only a brillant representation of a midsize station but a work of art from you. I can't say everybody could try the same and copy your style because you are showing us a wonderful development of your craftmanship, but it really is a motivation to try and build a model house with all the details to it especially because it doesn't cost the world or a fortune. So really learning to build individual station or other buildings is a financial acheivable tatget if one is serious about it. One needs to try, the materials are not to expensive only you need to invest time. tbaks so much and best albrecht
Evening Albrecht. Absolutely its all i wanted is a the original Tyne Dock as it was or something similar. Cheap and chearful that is me. i do often wonder about what i can use before throwing bits and pieces out. my come in handy box's are full of stuff that i might use one day. thanks again for commenting. have a great weekend. all the best Tony.
Humble? The reason people have watched your channel for so long T,is because it’s unique, brilliant build, ingenious use of materials, and of course your delivery......Keep em coming.......👍🏻
Wow, thank you David. its does surprise me at times at the generosity and kindness, very humbling in deed. its a warm feeling especially when these videos encourage people to have a go at scratch building for themselves. have a great weekend my friend. cheer's Tony.
Dear Tony, such a great video, love the different shots, especially those from underneath. Beautiful how you’ve solved the corner pieces, would indeed be another ‘project’ to even try to get the glass line all the way into the corners, even in the 1:1 scale. Awesome how you showed the painting of the roof, and the painting of the canopy supports. Simply great how the even planking looks around the entire canopy. Will be awesome to see the glass go in and the roof of the canopy being painted. Just wondering what kind of roofing you will choose. Was thinking of the South Shields kind, which you created around the glass sections. Looking forward to seeing the next episode. Love your reflections on the past years, it’s always a pleasure watching your work and the way you deliberate your thoughts and decisions behind the camera. Can indeed imagine the loyal way folks follow your works is humbling. Also think by the way you present your model railroad endeavors you’ve garnered a great audience. That’s definitely something to be proud of, and if you weren’t sufficiently proud yet, let me put that in to underline even more. Cheers and have a great weekend!
Good evening Vincent. thank you for commenting. I am very proud of what i have achieved through Building this model railway. and the enjoyment, entertainment i bring to the viewers. sometimes i just can not see what it is that i am doing that has this effect on people. any way that's enough of me waffling on. thanks again my friend. stay safe Tony.
Isn’t it nice you can get such a lovely view in your loft without even looking out of the Velux! Looks fantastic, what a transformation both area and roof with a lick of paint. Had no idea it would become what it is now with all those little and large extras - lift, lamp hut, underpasses, drinks fountain et al. The black pen strikes again! I wouldn’t be surprised if you get a call from Metcalfe asking if they can reproduce one or more of your builds. You have probably made more items than they have got out! Imagine SSS would be like what HMS Victory was to Airfix! Roll on the bus station. All the best my friend, Stephen
Hi Stephen. many thanks for commenting, now you can see why i had to change the Tyne Dock Station. as every time i looked across at Tyne Dock. i thought its not right, hence why we have a new station under construction. I have been taken a bit of time out to see what space we have for the bus station. as its going to be a nice size. so yes its been awhile since i have look forward to doing a build. until next time stay safe my friend. Tony.
Tony. What another wonderful video, of the construction of the new station. You make it all look so easy. I have been watching a few years, and always look forward to your Friday showing. The weekend really starts after seeing you videos. As for the videos , I have gone back in time and viewed them all, say HI to Mrs T from me please. Chris
Hello Chris. so you are a bit of a time traveller. there has been a lot of changes over the years. and redo's. so that is why i am looking forward to building something totally new like the bus depot that was mentioned in this weeks video. thanks again for all your support. take care Tony.
Well done Tony.. that canopy is starting to look great.. just looking along the length and the slight uneven dip and kink make it look its age just like the real thing, no 100 year old steam era station canopy is going to be as perfect from when it was first built..
Hello David. this card does warp a bit when wet. i have straighten some of it out. but yes it does look as its been around for while. which is great as it was not planed. even though care was taken when under construction. card can turn up some unexpected results. thanks again for commenting. Stay safe my friend. Tony.
Scribing for your sub-scribers 😄. That two station panorama is impressive Tony, such an improvement. Glad to see the painters finally turned up to do the roof. A bus depot sounds like it’s going to be a fun build, and great for us all to enjoy watching. I can just hear Jack… “DING-DING, hold on very tightly please”
Hi Rick. i can see that you are already reading my mind on the next build. i just can not wait to get stuck into that bus depot. especially how the roof is going to be made. Blakey is looking over my shoulder i better get this comment out. take care Tony.
Hi Tony, that is looking absolutely fabulous my friend. Patience and persistence pays off and I believe you get back what you put in. You are followed by many because of what you do and how you do it. Anyone can build a kit from a box but you sir, are the master of scratch building in my opinion.. Card is on its way too btw…thanks for yours, regards, Chris n Jules
Hello Chris. you are to kind sir. i do like and enjoy what we are doing here, and its great to bring people on board and hope i can pass on what we learn and encourage others to have a go at building things for themselves. that's what makes it all worth while. Thank you for being a friend. Like wise a card is on its way to you....best wishes from Tony & Laura.
Hello John. its great to hear from you, sorry i mist at the NEC. i was there on the Saturday. I did bump into Paul & Paris they said they had seen you. we are like ships that pass in the night. anyway there is always Ali Pali. take care my friend. Tony.
These parallel lines give me nightmares lol. just for the record i did not count those lines as i fell asleep scribing them. lol. take care and have a great weekend. Tony.
Love the canopy build. Your videos remind of my scratch build days on my model railway 50 years ago. I don't have the layout anymore. But I still have most of the buildings. Like you I scratch build all my interiors. And they still look good after 45-50 years. Thanks for bringing back those memories. Bill and Janet from California
Good evening Bill & Janet. that great to hear, tat you have made your own. and by the sounds of it they were built to last, 50 years wow. i do hope that mine last that long. until next time all the best Tony.
Hello Tony, The reason people watch your channel is it's truly amazing and a joy to watch you work. Great view of the rooftops. Looking forward to the new bus depot build Deano
Hi Tony, I see a lot of the comments are about why people watch and for so long. I think in this age of change in modelling you represent the old school, with your skills in scratch build modelling. Tyne Dock station looks amazing, especially with the view across from South Shields station. I look forward to seeing it’s completion over the next week or so. As for the bus station I also look forward to that build too, I’m sure it’s going to look great! I’m off to the cabin in the next half an hour or so to get cracking on finishing the raised level so I can at least have a full circuit running while I work on the rest and have a train running around again! Nice to hear from you last night mate, cheers for now, John
Hello John. i am so glad that you are finally finding time to get back into your railway room. I have been away from messenger from a year or so, as i had been hacked. so hopefully i can start to catch up with everyone. You know i keep looking back at old Tyne Dock station videos and thinking yes i have done the right thing. putting in the island platform as it was originally. we make these decisions sometimes wondering whether we have done the right thing or not. but now i know i have. just that view alone does is for me. it gives that industrial look at a certain height. sorry to waffle on. take care my friend. cheer's Tony.
Mate, when you decided to upgrade Tyne Dock, I reckon you didn't realise that it would take 30 odd episodes to construct. The new Bus Garage build sounds like a great build forthcoming. Cheers for Christmas to you and Mrs T. Arthur
Hello Arthur. Very true. i did have an inkling that it would a few months but not as long as it has to build a station i should have built years ago. but never mind we are slowly coming to the end of this epic saga. The bus station will be a breath of fresh air. as i am looking forward to building it. and not the case of having to build it. like Tyne Dock. until next time stay safe my friend. Tony.
Ditto Tony. Yes I cut my card the same !! I was thinking of making an adjustable jig to cut card without measuring time and time again, Another great cardboard engineering video mate. I am looking forward to receiving my TNE Calendar 2025. Regards Alan :o)
Hi Alan. You get the Calendar pretty quick as its 24hr tracked. it was great chatting to you. i could not believe is was over a hour long on the phone. Mrs T says Hi. take care buddy best wishes Tony.
Hi Tony, another great instalment in the build. It stuck me in the view looking over the loft area, just how big these station buildings are. In real life, even a small station has a much larger station building than most of us allow, except yourself of course. I was wondering if you had ever built any buildings with a roof tiles in the "Scalescenes" method, where you overlap rows of paper tiles to get that overlapping effect.............Nothing wrong with how your doing it at the minute of course, but just wondered if you'd ever tried it. Great video all the same, best wishes Dave.
Good morning Dave. Absolutely in the real world stations were built for the size of the local populations. now take Tyne Dock for a example. Tyne Dock was a medium sized station right at the heart of the dock yards so thousands of people would use this station just to get to work in the docks. Little Haven will be a smaller station when its complete even though there will be a dock present. so stations do vary in size. the roofing idea you mentioned using paper tiles is a great idea. and i think they do look great as i have seen building done with this method. The only reason i don't do this, is it can be very time consuming. especially when other area's a of a build gets more attention. I E. internal detailing. Great comment be the way. many thanks again. stay safe Tony.
@@TONYNORTHEASTERN Thanks for your reply Tony. Yes of course, Tyne Dock would have had a huge number of passengers passing through each day going to and from work, especially the docks. Very few would have had cars, even in the 1960's so the train was the way to go, unless you bike it! I am always a little bit reluctant to suggest ideas on here, I know it's supposed to be a community, but in today's society unless you know someone well, it is too easy to say something that someone reading the comments will see as negative and offensive! I get what you say about that roofing method being time consuming, especially on a building the size of Tyne Dock, and your roof's do look great when on the layout. Anyway, thanks again, all the best Dave.
Please do feel free to comment, because any scrap of information you put in the comments page may come in very handy for my builds. in the past i have had of great suggestions and even some help with photos etc. so please dont get put off from commenting. stay safe my friend. Tony.
Thank you! Cheers Anthony. we are so close to finishing this build. its been a long road. not as long as some of the builds, and not as short as some of the builds, but long enough. thank for sticking with it. take care Tony.
Glad you enjoyed the video. we are almost there. just another couple weeks may see this station finished. now that would be Great... cheer's for now Tony.
Thanks for sharing, Tony, and yes... I've been with you since well before COVID - although this is my second or third ident (thanks to an annoying email hack - which is why I no longer do facebook!) As to the station - I have to agree that it is much better than the generic Metcalf structure that was there before (good as Metcalf models are) The new station fits in much better. As for the new bus depot project - I've only got one thing to say... MORE TROLLEYBUSES!!!. Seriously though, the station is coming on well and really is impressive! All the best, Ken
Hello Ken, Some of the picture that i have of the Chichester bus depot have a old trolly bus. its a shame that they were soon scrapped in the 1950s, for diesel buses. you can always try messaging me through messenger. A pinnells. I keep getting that message a lot about the amount of people joining us during Covid and helping through that dark period. thanks again for commenting. stay safe and have a great weekend. Tony.
Good afternoon Leslie. wow 5 years, that's longer than some prison sentences. thank you for your kind words. i will endeavour to keep going as long as i have something to do. happy holidays see at the video. stay safe best wishes Tony.
Hello Stephen. I have had a big sort out with my Buses as i have too many. and most them don't belong to the north east. and after seeing your busses in a depot, i have decided to build a depot right next door to shields station. there is just about enough room there for a depot. obviously i will have to make some very slight changes to baseboard and road layout but i think it be worth it....roll on 2025. Ps thanks for the parcel. expect something from postman pat soon....Tony.
@TONYNORTHEASTERN good afternoon Tony when you think about 99.9 % of towns ha at lest one garage and yes a lot were by the railway I can think of at lest 30 Midland Red garages next to or over the road from railway station or tracks. Stephen
Hi Tony, I think it's ironic that the things you do are nearly always things that I have on the cards to do. I go right back to when you built the steam traction depot - that's what brought me to your channel in the first place. I had a different user name back then. After my pc got hacked and I had a new pc I renewed everything under the name I now have. But today I had to smile as you announced your plan to build a bus depot. That's exactly what I have planned! What makes it even more ironic is the fact that my real surname happens to be Chester! I'm looking forward to your bus depot build. Thanks.
Hi Alfie. what can i say. it was meant to be. you joining the channel and being a big part of the comments and inspiration. My bus collection is growing even though i had a clear out of the buses that did not belong to the north east. so yes i am very much looking forward to this build. as it will be another iconic building. i am hoping it will only take a month or so to make. but you never know how long these things take. cheer's for now my friend. tony.
Hello Adi my friend. you have very eagle eyes. if you had noticed they are half of the coronation set. which i am hoping to run soon. when the others arrive. running session is due. as i have not done one for a while. take care buddy. love your new loco...Tony.
Love the arial shots across South Shields and Tyne Dock Tony, are you planning to put any lights under the canopy to show off even more of your wonderful build, take care just got home from hospital op last night (1pm) had two repairs to my left knee therefore on crutches and pain relief for two weeks and another two weeks before I can attempt to get up into my loft layout.
Ouch Barry. I bet you can not wait for the healing of your knees. so you can get back to the railway room. (LOFT). get well soon. take care my friend. Tony.
Hello Peter. I am glad to see you back, This has been happening a lot recently with subscribers. your calendar is well on its way. Thank you for commenting. i hope to catch up with in the next one. stay safe my friend. Tony.
Hi Chris. you know what i dont many of them on the layout. I am surprised no one has spotted that before. I guess they top up at the end of the line at south shields. great suggestion though. cheerio for now Tony.

Tony.
Great touches again! So much yet to do, but it is coming along so well! Keep up the excellent work and cheers!
Thank you! Cheers Anthony. we are so close to finishing this build. its been a long road. not as long as some of the builds, and not as short as some of the builds, but long enough. thank for sticking with it. take care Tony.
Another great station build Tony.
All the best,
Ken
Hello Ken, Some of the picture that i have of the Chichester bus depot have a old trolly bus. its a shame that they were soon scrapped in the 1950s, for diesel buses. you can always try messaging me through messenger. A pinnells.
I keep getting that message a lot about the amount of people joining us during Covid and helping through that dark period. thanks again for commenting. stay safe and have a great weekend. Tony.
You have a fantastic channel , I've been following since five years ago , keep up the good work , happy Christmas ⛄
Good afternoon Leslie. wow 5 years, that's longer than some prison sentences. thank you for your kind words. i will endeavour to keep going as long as i have something to do. happy holidays see at the video. stay safe best wishes Tony.
Looking forward to the bus depot mate, that should be another great series.
Hello Jon. yes i am hoping that it is a shorter series. but we shall see. all the best my friend. Tony.
Goodevening Tony such a fantastic video again and now you are moving into bus garages wow no job to big or small for Tony NE Refabrication. Stephen
My bus collection is growing even though i had a clear out of the buses that did not belong to the north east. so yes i am very much looking forward to this build. as it will be another iconic building. i am hoping it will only take a month or so to make. but you never know how long these things take. cheer's for now my friend. tony.
Hi tony
I remember your o gauge stuff.
Did i spot some new coaches parked away st the start.

Tony.
Hi Tony , I don't seem to have been receiving notifications for your videos so I have resigned back into your sight .
Cheers.........Peter
