It's insane Ric has a longer "retired" carrer than many wrestlers pro wrestling careers.
You know what? Booker T was absolutely classy and respectful in his comments. I genuinely appreciate this guy. Such a gem in this industry!
He kinda had to be diplomatic abt it here. Booker T has grown up in an era where you don't disrespect legends of Ric Flair's calibre. Book had to bite his tongue not to state his true thoughts on the match bc I could tell he couldn't stand the match at all. For him to pause and went silent for a few seconds meant to me it was bad.
@@thelordofpainandsuffering8480 taker got to say what he wants about flair so why cant booker?
@@niaedmonds3342 Booker kisses ass sometimes. He’s always had to fight 2x harder for respect for guys that came in after him (i.e the Batista incident which was more recently exposed that it was due to Batista disrespecting him about who draws more money back in 06 when Booker was sitting in a chair for press during the SS shoot) so you know he has to try extra hard to keep his respect with older guys he earned respect from. He just wants to keep his respect and will never talk down publicly about someone who may be a bigger star in the industry
@@baddestsun agreed
@@thelordofpainandsuffering8480 gee, thanks for letting us know what he really thinks with your inside info lol
His match with HBK at Wrestlemania should have been his last match
Yeah but it should have been with sting
totally agree
that match was so awful, i don't remember a good ric flair match,
Same with rock vs hogan!
Yeah, the ' I love you' superkick match LOL
Can we acknowledge how good of a Heel Jeff Jarrett is and how underrated and great Jay Lethal is also.
It was ridiculous, I won't watch that again
I've been borderline OBSESSED with Ric Flair since the first time I saw him in 1989 when I was 8 years old. I'm STILL obsessed with Ric Flair. To me he is the greatest that will ever live.
The build up to this match and the drama surrounding it was AMAZING!! Ric looked GREAT in the training clips with Jay Lethal.
But the match was exactly what it was. A man who was too old, in fragile health and injured before it even happened.
It wasn't good and I agree it was at times it was genuinely scary.
I was so glad that Flair got through it and that he got to have a final "moment" and hats off to him for doing what he did, but in reality, he shouldn't have done it!
Nothing but respect for the man but honestly i wish I've never saw the clips from the match just didn't look specially when they tried to put the brass knuckles on 😢
BUT HE DID IT BECAUSE....HE'S RIC FLAIR
@@jeffreyivery4299 I'm sure it had nothing to do with the 7.5 million....
@@bb-ballistics1706 lol lol lol is that what Slick Ric MADE GOOD FOR HIM
@@jeffreyivery4299 it's the only reason he did it. Just a quick money grab. Suppose I would want 7.5 million if I had to gamble with my life to get it 😂
If Ric Flair had died in the ring, I’m pretty sure Flair would have been content with it, that just shows you how much The Nature Boy loves the business. I’m glad God was watching over him🙏🙏🙏🙏
After all RIC FLAIR has done for all of PROFESIONAL WRESTLING. He deserves one last match on his own terms.
This match was the drizzling shits.. embarrassing, uncomfortable and hard to watch. He had no business been anywhere near a ring. He couldn't even wrestle his entrance robe off.
But flair and Conrad took a pile of money to the bank. That’s all they care about.
@@Robrt32 yep. It was a seamless money grab
@@Robrt32 It’s not Conrad...it is spelled CONrad.
Heard he had to get a new robe because the old ones are too big for him to wear.
@@douglaspaterson5269 i guess that explains the no selling huh? If that was the case would you not be practicing with your new ring gear before walking on on ppv for the first time in years ..
Booker's voice is perfect for these podcasts.
I saw the Flair vs Michaels "last match" in person and it was so memorable. It's sad this match had to happen.
Gotta pay for those 16 times! 16 times! alimony payments.
That’s the real last match.
Flair doesn’t need the money anymore. This was Conrad Thompson’s idea. Shouldn’t have happened. Flair passed out twice during the match. Thankfully Flair didn’t get hurt or worse. I’m all for defying age and doing what you want to do but ca mon 73 years old is ridiculous. But just my opinion.
Flair said he wish he wouldn’t have said its his last match. That’s what bothers/worries me about it. When will it ever be enough for Flair??? I really hope it was his last match.
He looked good in the training videos but he looked completely different in the match. He looked hurt walking out
I know Shawn michaels was like...WTF????
I was legitimately scared at one point, where Flair and Lethal were on the mat and Flair rolled over on his back. I thought he was either really hurt or had passed out! He laid still and when he finally moved, he was really really slow. But it’s done and dusted, he had his final match. Good on ya Ric!
@Shooter Jack Network so true. if you watch his feet when he rolled over, Lethal looked down at him then up to Jarrett. It looks like he was out there.
But why the blood ? We all know it’s scripted so why use the blade. Completely unnecessary.
Cause Flair is obsessed with bleeding in matches
Thanks Booker and Brad!!!!! I was having a hard time accepting what was or wasn't going on in Ric's match, until seeing this interview.
Please don’t let him do this again next time it will kill him
Nature Boy been committed to the wrestling business since the early 70’s, ran the business for decades, let that man have his final moment
When is that going to be? 2030?
@@curthennig9448 with a name like curt hennig, that means you know about wrestling right? Who has been around longer and still relevant than ric flair regardless if his best matches was 25-30 years ago? Yeah his last match was NOT good, it’s the fact WRESTLING is his #1 love since a child, a Main Event for over 25 years SOLD OUT arenas
That match looked very sad
This is a Class A reaction from both, but honestly, it left in tears, man.
Everyone involved did their best including Flair but he simply wasn't ready for this and it showed. I didn't want to see my hero not even be able to do his famous strut to the ring, not have the energy and endurance of his early days, take that horrifying suplex from Lethal and literally lay there for minutes immobile. It hurt my damn soul.
He should have had a stadium party highlighted by his greatest matches, and fond memories from his fellow wrestlers. Let him party in the middle of the ring with Kid Rock and a truck load of strippers!
Both guys are class acts here. There's already been so much criticism we don't need a pile on by his friends. Well done to both guys here.
So you don't like to tell the truth either!
That was hard and painfull to watch. Flair is one of the best of his time but it's time to drag the old horse behind the barn and end his misery
Just like old yeller....easy there Shawn Micheals 😅🤣
That's what Bret Hart always used to say!
It was terrible. And dangerous.
Terrible? You took it way too seriously.
@@robertcornelius3514 bro he was shaking when he had to put on the bras knuckles, i thought he was having a seizure
@@robertcornelius3514 he laid there in a pool of blood for most the match. The part where he was moving he was no selling moves and looked like he was about to faint or have a major heart attack. It was dangerous and pointless.
Yes it was
I felt the finish was very sloppy. But, besides that in my opinion he should stayed with ric flair vs. Shawn Michaels match.
I was embarrassed for ric , there was no need for it ...at his age he should concentrate on audience with kinda shows ...he couldn't even handle the the entrance ffs
Was it cringe, yes, that you can't argue but it COULD have been worse if it wasn't changed to a tag match because he was working with a foot injury. Jarrett, Lethal and Andrade carried him making him look as good as they could.
Originally it was supposed to a singles match.
If it was a singles match it would of killed him off.
You can tell Book has some genuine reaction towards Flair at 73.
all I got to say ; It's just an embarrassment watching a 73 year old guy ; trying to recapture WHAT he once was. it's just damn shameful
He should have been sitting with his fellow wwe hof members
@@stevejamieson8468 agreed no argument here. he's just at an age where he needs to settle his old ass at home lol
Yup. Just think of your grandfather being in a wrestling ring.
For one more match, I think it's okay.
If he makes series of it... I agree with you.
Let the truth be told! Unfortunately the ass lickers won't see it this way and will do their best to lipstick this pathetic and embarrassing performance. They will come up with every excuse and say "Well it's Ric Flair,he's a legend,he's allowed to do this."
walk down the aisle, he stumbled down the aisle and he had trouble getting his robe off. his day ended 30 years ago
Wouldn't have had any trouble getting the robe off if he was in a hotel room with a 26 year old blond!
ric Flair spit iin the face of Shawn Michaels twice !!! and I am NOT a Shawn Michaels fan ! and I still realize that
I'm just glad Jeff Jarrett was the lead the man can wrestle anyone like him or not. if he wasn't I'm afraid this could have gone really bad trying to keep ric safe during the match and promos. I think they wanted Ricky the dragon steamboat but he wanted fans to remember him how he used to be. So props to Jeff willing to do it. Bet it wasn't easy working for WWE now time wise and his contract.
Book you a class dude but that match suckered. 👌
Can you dig that? Booker couldn't!
The chops were so powerful… I felt them through the tv LOL
One thing about if you missed Rick's last match, there will probably 5 or 6 more last matches of his to catch.
Yep plenty of time left for many more matches. Conrad is working on it as we speak!
Ric Flair is a human TANK.
73 years old, pacemaker, plus a case of PLANTER FASCITIS which Ric got in training, an injury that would take months for a healthy 20 year old to heal.....but the man despite injury & young dweeb mark hate, still went out & walked that aisle. Still and will always be THE MAN.
Lol planter fasciitis is a common running injury. It doesn’t make you miss any time doing any type of athletics, goober
@@willdallas53 🙈🤣🤣🤣🤡🤡🤡🤡 Thank you for showcasing your ignorance.
@@willdallas53 Goober Pyle indeed! I think Mr. Holmes is Flair's publicist and he is trying to down play this horrid performance. How many beers did Flair really have before this match?

It's the moment that matters, people keep talking bad saying it was cheesy look at his age, it was more out of respect let a legend go out a legend and that's what they did 💯
He probably old a lot of bills and taxes
Owed
White guy trying to be nice....Booker trying to be real. That match was nearly horrific. It wasn't disappointing, it was frightening and heartbreaking and unnecessary.
Match was awful, beyond dangerous and guaranteed it won't be the last one. There's no sense of "completeness in his heart" as long as someone will book him. He should've been finished 15 years ago.
I will say the best thing about that was he got to have his last match in the company that ric flair is most known for where he was in his prime jim crockett promotions.
I would like to see Brooker t to get his ass back in the ring one last time, with those yelling chopping noises 🤣🤣🤣🤣

I actually thought I was watching “The Wrestler” again. But with much worse wrestling ability.
Ric Flair is my GOAT! I wouldn’t say he’s the best in ring performer of all time though. He’s top 10. What makes him the goat is that he can do EVERYTHING. He can tell a story, sell a pay per view. He’s the greatest of all time on the mic for sure. The character of Ric flair is the best I’ve ever seen. His style and charisma are second to NONE. That’s what makes him the greatest. He embodies everything professional wrestling is all about!!

The Ric flair match was as bad as Kenny Omega selling for the girl back in Japan
It was worse. Atleast in that match it didn't look like anyone was going to drop dead at any moment
Book said HEEYELLL NAWW on his one last match !!
Awww come on Book! You gotta do it! Lol One mo' Harlem hangover from off the top rope. That'll do the ol knee some good! 🤣🤣🤣. Jk

I had to quit work over plantar fasciitis. No unemployment, no short term disability, and I'm broke, my nest egg ran out, I'm selling all of my belongings one by one to pay monthly bills and I still don't want to go back to work. That's how bad it is.
I deal with plantar fasciitis weekly with tylenol and rest...I've had it for about a year off and on been working in retail for 18 years str8 concrete floors are the worst...I can sympathize with you...
Well said…a great match? No. A great moment? Absolutely. JJ and Lethal killed it. They really sold for Flair and did the job for the GOAT.
Was the 6 minutes at the end of the match when flair was laying on the mat unable to move part of that “ great moment”?
Brad, 100% on point, JJ (and Karen) were the perfect fit for this match and JJ made this match be as good as it could have been..
Love this channel! Keep up the good work!!
Are these guys insane? This match was embarrassing.
Zero credibility here.
Book almost sounds like Macho Man at the beginning 😂😂😂😂
It was terrible
watching ric at that event reminded me of 2 parts of of 2 films. the first part was the coach of apollo crred screaming at rocky to throw in the towel. and the final 3 minutes of the movie THE WRESTLER when it ends with the elbow drop.its a sad depressing but at the same time inspirational ending. nothing he does ever in life tho will ever be as beautiful special match and moment then shawn michaels say I'm sorry. rick asking for the kick. and crying on each other counting to 3. I hope he's ok with how it ended and just stay away from in ring action. be a coach because your worth it. hell he can be a new GM so we can see him
I haven't seen Harlem Heat in a tag team match in very long time, but I would love to see them have at least one more match with a good team that they have had matches with before or some type of history with.

One Last Match Booker T.....It's Your Turn
I was scared for Rick, I grew up in the 80tys watching him, If Booker was in his 70tys and said this is it, I would watch. But would be scared for him as well
I would rather go to a rest home for a senior citizen fight 😂😂😂😁
That's where his next match will be booked. At the Community Senior Center against Hogan no doubt.
This was the worst of all the 107 last matches ric flair has had, fuckin horrible match.
People need to know when to say when, as great it is to see him in the ring at his age, coming off of a serious health issue, isnt the time to be throwing your body around. I've never been a Flair fan but Im glad he got to retire on his own instead of being buried like everyone else seems to be in the industry.
I think had ric not pushed so hard exorcising for the mach and not drank so much the night before he would had interred the ring more energetic but its ric flair and its his ride so . I wached it on stream and thought he did a fare job maby got gassed some towared the end however was better then the tna match .i thought he peformend fine threw alot of it .just to say heres a guy that was on life support, now completed a mach .just to add when he went back to the crowd fist bumpt the crowd on his walk out was historical. I'm with Booker on this one, Ric's "last" match was hard to watch.

He would wrestle forever if he could. He has demons obviously and he can’t let the career go.

I clicked on here to hear Booker T and instead I heard Brad Gilmore talk for almost the entire video...
I was so excited when he mentioned doing a Harlem Heat final match, then he dropped me through the floor saying it wasn't going to happen lol.
The thing is, Book, Ali and Joe would have never had a fight at 80. Why? Because they would not live through it, due to boxing being a shoot sport. Now, let’s take this concept to wrestling, a worked sport. Ric did come back and do this again at the age of 73. Doing so made wrestling look terrible, because shoot athletes retire in their 40’s. Ric doing this at 73 makes wrestling look even worse than AEW botches. And guys a fraction of his age are selling for him. 😂It’s pretty pathetic.
Ric is entitled to do whatever he wants and people have a choice to pay to watch or not it doesn't change the fact he's the greatest wrestling entertainer of all time with the greatest career by far.
Who said he wasn't entitled to do something stupid? What fact doesn't change is that this performance should be buried in the Undertaker's coffin.
Ric flair just getting checks this is not his first time saying last match💯

Ric flair and Sting please let it go.
NWA was his start not WWE. Ric went home to the NWA one last time. At 73 years old he just wanted to go have fun.

Good build up segments prior to the program. One GOAT, went out on his terms in something that he loves. Scared to a certain extent.
Brad. You spend this entire segment on how the match was not. Classic rick flair etc. We all know that including flair. Talk about something attached to meaningful regarding the match or a back story anything. Only one hurt about his performance is you just appreciate the opportunity to watch historical shit 💪🏾
