It makes you think about your own mortality, when you see guys like this have died you know it's coming for you too. We all know are going to die but we still have that little hope we won't deep down. Maybe we need that or we would go insane.
@@ThisIsTheEnd_JesusIsComingBack I am so sorry you've had to suffer like this, and suffer so hard. I don't know quite else to say but I wish you all the comfort, joy, and peace in this world because you deserve it. And truly embracing the time you have and living it, while also finding serenity and acceptance of death is truly wise. I wish you well.
When Kurt told him to ask him first, and then politely wacked him with the rolled up paper, he was frustrated and angry at the same time. He knew the guy wasn't trying to stir the pot, but he also could have easily decked him and kept walking. Bad timing, is bad timing, no way about it. The business eats people and spits them out. Curt was mad about Rick Rude being spit out and not getting the respect of those he made money for attending his funeral. He has a legit gripe, and then the interviewer basically ambushed him with the worst possible question at that time he could ask. Hell if he would have waited a year or so later, it wouldn't have been so bad. A time and place for everything. But early deaths from drug usage are not a part of that saying. Curt and Rick paid with their lives over giving themselves to the business. I hope they rest well on the other side.
@40 Phil P I started watching Rick in WCCW when he and Chris Adams had a feud. It was gold, and Rude could do nothing wrong. The man tapped up his wedding ring on his finger during matches, as he was devoted to his wife eternally. Rude should have beaten warrior in 1990 at Summerslam for the strap. Dude was scorching hot as a heel. Curt Hennig was the only other man that could give even Rick Rood a run for his money. The wrestling world lost some amazing teachers for the new kids, and the world lost two damn good men.
@40 Phil P Aye, he was another one who gave himself to the business fully. Tom Billington I consider to be in the top three of the best pure in ring performers of all time. He had such a quick explosive nature in the ring on everything he did. Fact is, he did more damage to himself than his opponents, as evidenced in his later years. From what little family life we knew of Dynamite, he loved his wife and kids too. Add Big Bossman to that list as well. Dude was a big man who could move and was a big old country boy at heart. We sometimes forget that damage is cumulative, but it's true, it all adds up. And once it's time to punch your ticket out of this life, some will unfortunately, have to clock out much sooner due to a lifetime of damage they've sustained. Sorry for the mini essay though, real good typing up wonderful responses with you. Be blessed in all you do.
@@AdolfsGirl Sorry cupcake, but Curt and his father Larry "The Ax" Hennig both had the last name Hennig. Many people said Curt's name wrong, but it doesn't make ther ignorance true.
Curt was such an amazing talent. I was a dumb young wrestling fan in the 80’s and 90’s; and didn’t really appreciate his overall elite performance talent until a lot later in life. But I can say, I can watch Mr. Perfect matches all the time!!!
This sends chills down my spine watching this. Curt was pissed when being asked about Rick Rude but he let the interviewer off easy because Curt was a nice guy. I think whoever it was that didn't show up at Rick's funeral was who Curt was mat at that he knew Rick helped in wrestling.
@casey3685 I kinda think that as soon as he was asked about Rude he knew he'd get emotional. So rather than have us see him full of grief he thought of something to turn that into an emotion of anger.
Over half of the Minnesota guys Hennig hung out with as kid and later became wrestlers are now deceased - Hawk, Animal, Rick Rude, Tom Zenk, Brady Boone. Barry Darsow, Nikita Koloff, John Nord and Scott Norton are still with us, thankfully.
Not only did he bring up Rick Rude, his original question was a backhanded way of bringing him up. Rick Rude always watched Curt's back in kayfabe and in real life so he talks about Stevie Ray being there for Booker and Curt not having anybody. Up until that point he had Rick, so that question alone was pretty uncalled for imo.
You could see Curt's eyes almost roll back in his head when interviewer asked about his pal Rude, he was not prepared to talk about it there. The end was so genuine, he was pissed! Great rare vid, thanks for posting. RIP Curt and Rick - 2 of the best ever
Curt had his demons as we all do, but this man was pure heart. You can see the emotion in his eyes, and hear it in his voice. I wish he could have overcome that which plagued him, and that we still had him today. R.I.P Curt Henning and Rick Roode.
I remember as a kid, everytime I'd see Mr. Perfect or hear his name, id think of Rude and also, Rick Rude was almost always by his side. You could see his mood change when asked the question on his death. That hit Curt hard here and even more behind the scenes.
Black Ace The Blind Introvert... I couldn't agree more, it was actual characters, no sexual material like there is now, great build ups, great filibusters via Brother Love Show, awesome managers- Bobby the Brain, Slick, Mouth From the South, I mean... damn, I love it.
The guy was so dynamic on the mic even in unscripted moments. Handled the impromptu questioning about Rude with aplomb but gave a warning to not do it again.
This guy was a warrior, I find it incredible that he wrestled one of the greatest matches in WWF history with a bulging disc in his back. I have one and I can barely get in and out of bed and this dude was wrestling Bret Hart. What a legend!
A very awkwardly arranged interview. First the reporter brings up a wrestling angle, which Curt takes a few moments to really get into character. Then the reporter brings up the recent death of Curt's friend, and Curt clearly is upset and caught off-guard. Curt struggles to respond, and eventually gets back to the wrestling angle. Then at the end he gets personal again when he tells the reporter to be more professional while slapping him with a newspaper. I've never really seen a wrestling interview like that before or since. Usually the guys doing the interviewing are liked by the wrestlers and know better than to really piss off the talent
Wow this is very unsettling sad interview. Mr Perfect was one of my favorite wrestlers. If that wasn't planned the interviewer should have had more respect and not asked about his friend Rick Rudes death on camera. RIP Rick Rude RIP Mr Perfect Curt Hennig
I agree with what you said. Maybe the interviewer was doing what he was told, or his inquiring mind wanted to know how Curt felt. 1 of those incidents where its ok to tell the person that they can say no comment if they don't wanna talk about it.
HorrorFreak68 The interview is supposed to be an opportunity for the wrestler to get his coming match and character over...Plus he didnt know that was going to be brought up on live television. Thats fucked up. Fuck your Condolences
Aerial Penn That's completely STUPID. If Henning can't tolerate someone showing genuine concern and respect by acknowledging his close friendship with Rude and giving his best, then FUCK him. That's the most normal thing in the world.
this is beyond stupid. This is a setup where everything is scripted. The interviewer caught him off guard going off script about Rude. This isn't hard to figure out.
He didn't and it was uncalled for. You could see Curt having to turn to fight back the tears. It wasn't the time or the place and you certainly ask first off camera if that's going to be your question.
Yeah, you could clearly see he was really pissed when the topic was brought up. It's not something you ask last as an afterthought and catch someone off guard looking for a reaction. That's what it seemed he was mainly upset about. I just wonder who didn't show for the funeral, who he was mad at for not showing
@@BonesBrigader apparently these first two dumb fucks don't have one to have to speak about 2 legends in such a way...we all make decisions for ourselves whether they are good or bad it's irrelevant....

It makes you think about your own mortality, when you see guys like this have died you know it's coming for you too. We all know are going to die but we still have that little hope we won't deep down. Maybe we need that or we would go insane.
That's why they call believing in Jesus as "the blessed hope" because without it we would all go insane thinking about it
I think once you accept that you're eventually going to die, it does become a little easier to digest. I certainly don't want to outstay my welcome.
@@ThisIsTheEnd_JesusIsComingBack
Damn, bro. Hopefully things will turn around for you.
@@morrisstanley123 I agree friend
@@ThisIsTheEnd_JesusIsComingBack I am so sorry you've had to suffer like this, and suffer so hard. I don't know quite else to say but I wish you all the comfort, joy, and peace in this world because you deserve it. And truly embracing the time you have and living it, while also finding serenity and acceptance of death is truly wise. I wish you well.
You could just tell this hurt, as hard as he was trying to stay in character. RIP to both, two of the greatest wrestlers ever.
Hennig should have had a world title run he was that damn good............
It's HENNIG, NOT Henning!
Oh for give me you grammar nazi
He did get one in the AWA before making it to the WWF, though I'm guessing that's not on the same level.
Steven Gomez it still technically counts as a heavyweight title win awa or not
at least he was intercontinental champion
It’s Curt you numbskull and also your buying too much into this interview kiddo...
Great post buddy. Well said
Curt Hennig & Rick Rude are now in heaven united, now their friendship can last forever & not be broken. ~Rip~

Curt henning was pissed at that interviewer fir real! You can see the pain in his eyes!
Even though you could tell that was awkward and painful for Curt he handled it the way he handled literally everything. PERFECT.
Lmao you stole this comment. Pathetic.
You can see the pain in his eyes. Love them both greatly. I will never forget them and the good memories they gave us all.
@@ppiorkowski1502 very good theory and probably true.
still more respectful of an interview than the WWF did with Mrs Pillman
@@woobgamer5210 She agreed to do it
I thought Curt was an ass, I've asked and been asked about people who died that were close to me and other people and no one ever did that to me
Over half of the Minnesota guys Hennig hung out with as kid and later became wrestlers are now deceased - Hawk, Animal, Rick Rude, Tom Zenk, Brady Boone. Barry Darsow, Nikita Koloff, John Nord and Scott Norton are still with us, thankfully.
X pac
Henning!!
@@joseaponte4581 X pac is quite a bit younger and wasn't part of that group of Minnesotans.
Best money maker? Hening sucked as bad as Rude, but couldn't just let Rude upstage him. He had to OD... Perfectly!

You can feel the pain in Curt's eyes
Curt had his demons as we all do, but this man was pure heart. You can see the emotion in his eyes, and hear it in his voice. I wish he could have overcome that which plagued him, and that we still had him today. R.I.P Curt Henning and Rick Roode.
The look on his face . . . you could see the hurt. Sucks both are gone.
I remember as a kid, everytime I'd see Mr. Perfect or hear his name, id think of Rude and also, Rick Rude was almost always by his side. You could see his mood change when asked the question on his death. That hit Curt hard here and even more behind the scenes.
Why did this REPORTER feel the NEED to stick his NOSE where it CLEARLY DID NOT BELONG. People have a RIGHT to mourn in PRIVATE.
Man...sucks these guys are gone
2 legends!
Fun fact, they both went to the same high school.
Yes, it does. I miss the wrestling 1988-1992 in those days. So good.
MgtowArena Yes the golden years man.
He was so good in the ring and on the mic. He was absolutely perfect.
Wow, watch him almost loose it after he said "I lost m best friend"....that hurt my soul. RiP to both Rick and Curt.
lose*** it, not loose it.
Very rare but kinda uncomfortable interview when ask about rude.. R.I.P. Perfect & Rude
Goddamn, this is hard to watch without getting a little emotional. You can really see the hurt in his eyes....truly heartbreaking. Great find
Lmao got his point across to the interviewer without shouting or cursing and was delivered frighteningly
At least they got to team up at both Survivor Series 1988 & 1989 together. That wasn't coincidence.
And they worked together at the 1990 Royal Rumble.
He was such a "tough guy" he couldn't answer without breaking character and smacked the dude with rolled up paper for his trouble
I agree with what you said. Maybe the interviewer was doing what he was told, or his inquiring mind wanted to know how Curt felt. 1 of those incidents where its ok to tell the person that they can say no comment if they don't wanna talk about it.
That pain looked very real.
The interviewer is lucky Kurt managed to hold it back.
stufaman what did the interviewer do that was so wrong??? Give condolences???
HorrorFreak68 The interview is supposed to be an opportunity for the wrestler to get his coming match and character over...Plus he didnt know that was going to be brought up on live television. Thats fucked up. Fuck your Condolences
Aerial Penn That's completely STUPID. If Henning can't tolerate someone showing genuine concern and respect by acknowledging his close friendship with Rude and giving his best, then FUCK him. That's the most normal thing in the world.
If you actually believe your comments, you are a cold person.
this is beyond stupid. This is a setup where everything is scripted. The interviewer caught him off guard going off script about Rude. This isn't hard to figure out.
Curt spoke from his heart about his friend
Sad to see those two legends gone. They both will be truly missed
One of the greatest Wrestlers who ever laced up his boots.
Thats a rare interview
Sure is. Thanks for uploading this. I'm always looking for these type of videos. Much respect to Rude and Perfect. RIP
It's not anymore!
yeah. It's definitely not well done.
See what I did there?
True professional.
Kept his cool.
Emotions in check.
That last line may have come from the heart - I don't think he expected the Rude line of conversation.
He didn't and it was uncalled for. You could see Curt having to turn to fight back the tears. It wasn't the time or the place and you certainly ask first off camera if that's going to be your question.
I wish Curt would have slapped the mic out of his hand.
I think you're right, and i think hitting him with that rolled up paper stopped him from hitting that guy.
Yeah, you could clearly see he was really pissed when the topic was brought up. It's not something you ask last as an afterthought and catch someone off guard looking for a reaction. That's what it seemed he was mainly upset about. I just wonder who didn't show for the funeral, who he was mad at for not showing
That was an ambush question if I've ever heard one. He handled it well, he was great for sure.
Curt says "it's a wake-up call for him" yet he ends of doing the same damn thing!!!
What a shame.
its only a wake up call if you pick up the phone, he may have let it ring.
Leave the man be. He lived his ife now go and live yours.
@@BonesBrigader apparently these first two dumb fucks don't have one to have to speak about 2 legends in such a way...we all make decisions for ourselves whether they are good or bad it's irrelevant....

Dang I could feel his pain when he said "I lost my best friend"

Why do some people think that famous people can only die if they're murdered by another human being? Stop being silly, M Perkins.
M Perkins people who use/abuse cocaine tend to have high levels of cocaine in their system. Mr. Perfect used coke, pain killers, roids etc.
