I saw Tool live several weeks ago and for a brief moment during Pneuma I could see his second set of octopus arms. And I was Sober, mostly, haha. Seriously though, the man is an absolute percussive mastermind.

I LOVE the "new" Tool - more trance and crisp production :D I like the original but here they just brought it to the different level!
So incredible how their sound is just so consistent, Maynard is just something else on a whole ‘nother plain of existence!
It's like the 1st Opiate is a standard, plain wrench, and Opiate2 is a new and improved wrench with some newfangled cool features. Each song is another tool in the belt.
Love this version, but the drums at the end of the original version is pure gold.
Danny seems to go way deeper here with the extended section in the middle .....
After all these years, they still win. Incredible!

This is a re-recorded and extended version of the original. Still worth checking it out, but it has that raw production feel like the other songs that you have done from the EP. Pretty impressive that Maynard can still scream like this at his age.

I am so glad that tool doesn't release songs like this too mainstream radio stations. I'm so thankful that knowledgeable people with open minds can hear these type of masterpieces instead of letting them get wasted to the masses that won't appreciate them.

I had never really heard the original but right when I started this I could hear the quality of the production. Maynard's voice sounds so refined and the guitars have so much depth. And that ambient middle section is really cool.
Might be seeing them perform this two days from writing this comment. Hope they perform it!

Story has it that this was recorded before Fear Inoculum and not recently. This explains (to me) why this feels like a remastering of the original with a condensed Invincible-like instrumental breakdown sandwiched in the middle. But I like your enthusiasm!

This is the last Tool in the case. It won’t make complete sense without all the other Tools, and without it, none of the other Tools truly make sense. They must all be looked at thru the lens of this song. That’s why it closed the first album and got redone as their final song/Tool. If you haven’t heard every other Tool song yet, you weren’t ready for this one yet. Maybe you have but, you should Sweat regularly. A tool without sweat is worthless. That’s why Sweat is the first Tool on their first official album, D Life Music
