I adore your sense of humor! 😃 We all need to be able to laugh at our mistakes and move on from them as eloquently as you did. 😉😉😎 Thank you for sharing. 😊🌹🦋
I just like it when you laugh at yourself especially when you saw the 2 inch square underneath your 4 inch square. Thanks for sharing this technique for the flying geese, Have a great week.
I was bewildered at that "where the heck did that piece go to"!??!! LOL! OH!! I sewed it into my seam on the back!! LOL! LOL! Just cut it off and continue!! LOL!
Excellent tutorial! I am grateful for the reality of errors. Your honest attitude and encouragement are exactly what we need to see and hear. I wish you posted daily. Love to the Trueloves from Jeanie
You mean a Comedy of Errors?!?! LOL! You have to laugh!! I was darned if I knew where that silly piece got to!! LOL! Oooops!! There it was. Cut it off and just go on!! LOL! No one will ever know!! LOL! THanks for watching us Dorothy:)
Love watching you! So real and showing the real troubles of sewing and how to fix at the same Time because it is ok . People edit and make it look so easy and give people anxiety trying to be perfect . Sewing is a art not all things turn out perfect and it’s ok !!! Love you Jean . Just keeping it real !!!!❤
Hello Jean, Firstly I want to say, I love your necklace and you look lovely wearing that funky necklace in tone with your dress. As always, it is so refreshing to see you and what you bring in your video, taking us along in making some cute flying geese block. I appreciate how you walk us through step by step, even when you make a tiny blunder which to me it is fun as we all do make some mishap sometimes, so what, Jean? I like how you can laugh about it and nothing to be ashamed of. I hope your back heals well and please take it easy. How is Ian, Maxwell and all the Trueloves, hope they are doing well. Take care Jean. Blessings, Thelma ❤❤
Aw thanks again Thelma:) Me an my funky necklaces ~ I have so many, cheap and cheerful:) And I always say if we can't laugh at ourselves, WHO can we laugh at?!?! LOL! Maxwell had a not so great day yesterday, the heat and a long car ride made him a bit woozy, but all is better today, thanks:)
You are so fun to watch. After watching you for a few years, I think I will like to try this flying geese scrap pattern Have a great convention ! Lots of love to everyone !
Thanks so much:) Please try:) And don't sweat it if they don't turn out wonderful....they have been made with love and will fly away in your quilt with love:) lOL!
Hi Jean. Your scrappy flying geese will be colourful when finished. As it was once explained to me, the coloured portion of the block is the goose and the lighter portion is the sky. Enjoy your week. Stay well. God bless you and yours.
Your videos are absolutely great and you are a fantastic teacher! Could you please teach everyone how to do a “Y” seam in one of your Row by Row quilt? So many people are afraid to do a “Y” seam in a block thinking it’s too difficult and I believe every beginner should know how to make a block with a “Y” seam as there are so many beautiful quilt blocks that use them! Thank you Jean! ❤🎉
@@shellcshells2902 I completely agree with you! 🥰 Jean is a great teacher and even some seasoned quilters avoid the “Y” seam, so I’m hoping she will do it for us all. I think it’s important for all quilters to learn how to make all different types of blocks so we can take on any kind of quilting pattern with confidence! 🙌🏼
You always do such a great job explaining the steps with no pressure to be "perfect". Once we get my craft room settled after our move (iowa to illinois) I will for sure be making this quilt. Lovely as usual!
@jeantruelovetruelovequiltsfory yes, exciting as we moved back to our hometown after 19 years. Hubby retired last year, so we moved back to the area. I forgot how much work moving is. Only 1 row of boxes left in the garage that WILL be emptied b4 fall. I do love your newest home. So beautiful!
I am a packrat, as you know....More Is Never Enough for me, but even MINAMALISTS collect things and discover just how much stuff they have when they have to MOVE it!! LOL! Take care and don't do too much! Boxes can wait:)
@jeantruelovetruelovequiltsfory yes, boxes can wait, but the quilting can't. Promised hubby I wouldn't do any sewing until the boxes were emptied. That makes it a worthwhile reward & gives me motivation to get it done. I have a friend coming to help soon. She is much taller (I am only 4'10") & able to do some heavy lifting in exchange for some help on one of her quilts. We will get it done!
Thanks Jean, always look forward to your videos. Flying geese are Very small I’m thinking a bit bigger, will see, haven’t done my appliqué or churn dash yet😂
Yes, these turned out a bit small.....I really tried to make them bigger, but kept messing up and they never came out the same size!! LOL! I will really have to follow my tutorial when I go to make the rest!! LOL!
Dear Jean, I love flying geese blocks. I set myself a challenge to see how tidy they end up. It always amazes me that I do the same cut, measuring and seam allowance but I never get all the blocks the same size. One of life’s mysteries! Hope Maxwell is feeling better now. Love as always to you all.🏴 On a totally different subject, have you or any of your followers purchased fabric from Marshall Dry Goods company and if so are they any good?🏴
LOL! If you could have been a fly on my wall when I was trying to make these darned things!! I would cut, measure and then they would NEVER be the same!! I dread making the rest of them!! I MUST follow my tutorial closely!! LOL! LOL! I have never purchased from Marshall Dry Goods, but I have heard good things about them:)
@@jeantruelovetruelovequiltsfory the dear jean quilt was the first time I tried them, but it was a dismal failure for me. I ended up paper piecing them. Lol. I will get to quilting that sometime this year I hope lol. Have a great day. cheers Dee
Jean I haven't started the quilt yet. I have had some severe back pain going on . But will be going to have an injection on Friday. However I have had a real mental block for quilting for over 2 months. It's real scaring to me knowing how much I love to quilt. All this is just to say. I love your Row by Row quilt and WIll get to it soon. Thank you for all you do. I enjoy each and every video no matter what the subject. Love to you and all your family. Oh and Hello Maxwell.
@brendafrye5875 Ohhhh Sweetheart, I totally understand back pain and I haven’t started the “Row by Row” quilt yet either, so you’re not alone. I have severe back problems with chronic pain every single day and I’m trying to unpack my quilting supplies and get my quilting room set up in my new home. I hope Friday goes well for you and you’re able to get some relief from your pain. I’m so thankful that Jean has her “Row by Row” quilt blocks on her Playlist so if anyone needs to see how she makes the blocks we can go to it and follow along! 🥰
@@Ez2beholli thank you so nuch for the encouragement. I wish you the best and how exciting to have a new home with new sewing room. I know you will be so excited when you have completed the move.
Oh Brenda, I'm so sorry for your issues. Back pain is just terrible!! I hope the injection alleviates the pain somewhat!! Don't worry about sewing for now. Rest, Heal, and Recover. Cups of tea and relaxing. You are a sweetie...hugs! But careful hugs!! LOL! Maxwell says Hello:)

If 8 of each color is too many, for a scrappy project, just use one 4” square of each color instead of two. TFS. 🌷
